Jason Muzzatti had a goalie camp in North Carolina I went to 2 different times as a kid. He knows his craft; even got to take shots from Chad LaRose, Cam Ward, and Rod Brind'Amour. Best childhood goalie moment for me.
The best story to come out of this draft would be the legend of Link Gaetz. Gaetz was a mean defenseman, had skill but was much better known for dropping the gloves. Though his career in the NHL would be short due to suspension and off ice problems, he'd spend lots of time bouncing around the league. In fact then North Stars GM Lou Nanne said this quote: "In the first round we drafted Mike Modano to protect the franchise, in the Second round we drafted Link Gaetz to protect Mike Modano and in the third we should've drafted a lawyer to protect Gaetz." Gaetz would be part of the inaugural San Jose Sharks season putting up 326 Penalty Minutes, a record still not broken to this day.
The 1988 NHL Entry Draft re-done - with 1988 pick order: 1# Teemu Selanne - Minnesota North Stars. 2# Mike Modano - Vancouver Canucks. 3# Rob Blake - Quebec Nordiques. 4# Alexander Mogilny - Pittsburgh Penguins. 5# Jeremy Roenick - Quebec Nordiques. 6# Mark Recchi - Toronto Maple Leafs. 7# Rod Brind'Amour - Los Angeles Kings. 8# Trevor Linden - Chicago Blackhawks. 9# Tony Amonte - St. Louis Blues. 10# Valeri Kamensky - Winnipeg Jets. 11# Joe Juneau - Hartford Whalers. 12# Bret Hedican - New Jersey Devils. 13# Alexei Gusarov - Buffalo Sabres. 14# Martin Gélinas - Philadelphia Flyers. 15# Stephane Fiset - Washington Capitals. 16# Tie Domi - New York Islanders. 17# Dominic Roussel - Detroit Red Wings. 18# Dmitri Khristich - Boston Bruins. 19# Sean Hill - Edmonton Oilers. 20# Tim Taylor - Montreal Canadiens. 21# Curtis Leschyshyn - Calgary Flames. 22# Marty McInnis - New York Rangers. 23# Keith Jones - New Jersey Devils. 24# Zdeno Cíger - Quebec Nordiques. 25# Peter Fiorentino - Pittsburgh Penguins. 26# Rob Ray - New York Rangers.
lmao you really butched the name Kocur Also from this draft class I'd give honorable mention to Dmitri Khristich, who is the most productive Ukrainian player and Valeri Kamensky who scored one of the most iconic goals of all time
You mispronounced Cimetta, Kocur, Savage (He was always referred to Reggie not Reginald), Boivin, Govedaris. Tim Taylor was not a great player... You omitted Joe Juneau, Dmitri Khristich, and Valeri Kamensky. I seriously don't think you know much about hockey pre-2000. Sorry, not sorry.

Saying Cam Ward and Rod Brind'Amour in the same sentence still irks me
hell yeah

F Babcock for benching modono
F messier for taking linden's C
F Babcock
Bunch of teenagers that grew up watching the Isles dynasty and prime Gretzky. Not surprised at all this draft was so healthy.

Roussell doesn’t belong over almost anyone after him.
That is really stacked top 10
@@strixie02 Indeed it is! Just the 10 all made great careers !!!
@@achildr1 Yeah I was figuring his position and wondered if he got up to high, but he was a solid back-up goalie many times in his career!
One wonders how Cheveldayoff walked away clean from the Kyle Beach scandal.
Seems he was someones friend.
Yea him and bergevin were employed by chicago at the time...bowman and quenneville are banned but theyre fine???its fishy
Cheers mate
What's insane is all the mullets
Not every draft is a banger. That's just the way it is. It's like that in all 4 major sports in North America
These are the guys that made NHL 95 the best game ever
Good vid -e-ohhh 👍

was about to say that 💀💀
yea, it’s pronounced Co•ser…. not sure why this dude has a hockey channel lol
@@Realistic316 oh don’t be that way
@@Realistic316 Maybe because he just really enjoys hockey and happens to be from the UK?
“Just for the taste of it…. Diet Coker”
Is it five HOF:ers among the top ten overall? Absolutely insane! Quebec,Toronto and Pittsburgh can’t be pleased with the outcome of this draft!
Cheveldayoff didnt play a NHL game but he is a stanley cup champion.
And a accomplice in the kyle beach situation!!
@@TheChronicFiend its a shame alot of their names are on the cup.
Teemu Selanne is the GOAT. Go Ducks!!!
Did Mogilny not have the exact same amount of goals in his rookie season as Selane did?
He did eventually score 76 goals, but that wasn't until his fourth season.
They both scored 76 goals in the 92-93 season. But Mogilny wasn't a rookie that year.
Thanks for the clarification gents
Co-Kur. The reading of the names from the 1988 NHL Draft Was INSANE. Do you Co-Kur?
It's Koe-sir not Koe-ker.
Are you incapable of softening your Cs??
Even with this insight. Leafs would still blunder moginly.
The pronunciation of "Kocur" hurt me. Not really, but maaaan.
It's Koe-sur.
3:44 lol, it’s pronounced Co•ser
Please do the 1984 Mario Lemieux draft.
Kevin Cheveldayoff sounds like he would be cruising around town in a chevy Chevelle on his day off 😂
That's felony punnery. The lowest form of humor at its highest level. Warrants have been issued. I don't have to ask if you're a Dad.
Why are you so sparky? I mean, how many NHL games have you played.

Look at that mongaloid in the top upper corner of the picture

You need to learn how to pronounce some of these names
Please research how to pronounce player names.
NHL announcers don't seem to bother so why should a youtuber?
