Jeezus, people really sent messages like that? It’s obvious they are self projecting.
You keep doing what you are doing - I really enjoy the way you present - openly and informatively without heaps of time wasting.
Thank you. Chris.
You are the man!! Disregard the negativity. You are one of my top three favorite channels to tune into. This video and more make my days better. Just knowing I get to watch a Haze video with booze drinking and being outdoors. You make the bushcraftyness alittle more laid back and I like that. Keep doing you buddo. Cheers.
I'm doing the C2C in March next year. Starting at Seascale instead of St Bees as I am from Cumbria. Lived close by to where the route goes through, from St Bees to Ennerdale Valley. Best of luck with your C2C
Good to see detail of the different bits of kit. I carry a crusader kit, like the fact it packs around a water bottle. I do take a larger stove which sits on the floor, not a fan of pocket rocket style as not stable boiling water higher up, plus I am a clumsy clot. Crusader kit also allows me to cook with the fire dragon tablets if main gas runs out or gas stove breaks so carry 4 blocks of fuel as back up.
I'd suggest buying a large foil baking tray, cut a strip of it the depth of your pot, then take a paper hole punch and press out some holes around the base, it will create a cheap windshield that can slide neatly between the 2 pots. You can see it on my cook kit at 10:20 mins on my most recent vid (if you're interested)
If you rim your gas bottles with a little olive oil and put kitchen paper in, it helps to stop rust spots in your mug, where the gas is stored.
That's a nice cold weather and above tree line cook kit. No snow here and lots of trees in Florida. I use a Evernew Appalachian titanium kit at 5.7 ounces and a GoBites duo fork and spoon at 1 ounce. Or I use the heavier wood burning Vargo Titanium stove at 4.1 ounces and a Heavy Cover Canteen cup and lid at 4.8 ounces with the GoBites duo at 1 ounce.
If you wanted to totally 100% stop that rattle (from the lighter underneath the gas bottle) cut a thin slice of a bike inner-tube out about the width of the lighter and stretch it around the lighter! Love the videos.
pink is an excellent choice for gear color. less chance of losing stuff.
Love your work, Haze. Thanks for sharing . Great camping spot - jealous😩
Good to see you out in the elements. Give my best to J D and the new arrival. Have a Great new year!
Do you have an amazon link to that rubber band?
Philip Jessup 😂😂😂
Nice and compact that! Love the look of the titanium pots! Thanks for sharing atb
Nice vid 👍🏻 I can only think the one thumbs down is because the pink lighter is making someone feel a little bit insecure about themselves 😂.
Hilarious! Well done sir. I dont expect a quick response but wondering if an MSR Pocket Rocket 2 would fit instead of the BSR 3000T you have nested in there. Keep up the funny!
Great cook kit. I doubt you could improve on that, other than changing for meths. Looking forward to your Coast-to-Coast reports!
I like it. Particularly how you've stashed the towel inside to prevent rattling.
Happy New Year! :-)
Nice one. I use a similar setup, alpkit stove and ti pots. Doing the c2c next summer with my daughter. We’re planning on 10 days, c20miles per day I think.
That’s cool mate, a trip you’ll never forget.
I didn't think those iso-butane canisters worked very well in cold weather. You must know something I don't. Entertaining video!
Hi Hazo have you considered selling this as a kit on amazon? I found it hard to find the toaks pots in the uk!
Cracking kit mate, and beautiful location and views. Wishing you a belated happy christmas and a happy new year, all the best mate. Nick
Nice 1 Hazey. Happy New Year to you sir!
Happy new year Hazey, can’t wait for the 2018 vids x
See what ya mean now,Awesome bit of collective cooking kit setup ya got there.
Love the content, great energy and good laughs. Hope you bring a solar battery charger for your 12 day trip to keep us along with you! I'm a grandma's girl, so love the tribute to your grandparent.
Amazing views Great videos your definitely the reason I got back into camping keep it up
How do you stop the pot handles from getting too hot?
I have four self-contained cook kits, but I always take a G.I. mess kit with me, as well as a G.I. canteen cook set. I carry these things all year long, regardless of what other cook kit I take along.. Sometimes I want to fry something. Small portions of boiled food, especially dehydrated boiled food, gets old very, very fast, at least for me.
The G.I. canteen cook set is also an emergency kit. Should I wander too far away from base camp and have to spend a night away, I have everything I need to make a hot meal because the canteen is always with me, along with its cup, lid, and canteen cup stove.
A pocket hammock and a poncho to keep the rain off complete my emergency, always with me kit. I also always have a compass, a fire kit, a Sawyer water filter, and a belt knife and pocketknife with me, of course. I also carry a small food bag that holds a small package of jerky, two packages of instant oatmeal, two packages of instant rice, four packets of sugar, and two packages of salt.If you venture into the backcountry, or get anywhere close to a location where survival might be a possibility, these things should always be on your person, and not in a pack.
Packs get lost, they get stolen, or they get left at base camp, sometimes because the camper steps into the brush to answer nature's call, forgets which way is which, and gets lost.
I also carry a small stick stove. It fits in my back pocket, but I can use it with wood, with a Trangia, with Esbit fuel tabs, or with a canister stove of the type where the burner doesn't go directly on the canister. It also make a far better, far sturdier pot stand than anything else close to its size that I've seen.
I never liked canister stoves that screw directly on top of the canister, anyway. I've seen far too many pots of food get knocked off them, or simply fall off on their own. The kind I use is heavier, but I'd rather go four ounces heavier and get all the advantages such a stove offers than to go four ounces lighter and lose those advantages.
Anyway, I do like self-contained cook sets. They're a good thing to buy, and also fun to make. But I like more versatility than most of them offer, and I'm always concerned with survival. Just over three weeks ago, I fell, landed on the point of my shoulder, and received what my doctor called a one in a thousand "accordion" broken collar bone. Broken collar bones are common, but most have a single, clean break. But I hit at exactly the right angle and speed to do more than this. My collar bone folded up, and broke into five pieces, none of them clean. Each piece has ragged, sharp ends.
This wa snot fun. Realizing I had to get up and walk was less fun. Actually getting up and walking was, well, I said "ouch" many times. Or words to that effect.
The list of thing I carry on my belt of in my pockets has been around for at least five hundred years, at leas in basic form. Rather than instant oatmeal and instant rice, it used to be parched corn, or cornmeal, etc., but it was still the same list as far as possible, including a pocketknife with more than one blade.
And I'm rambling. Sorry about that. I do enjoy your videos, and almost always find them helpful, and find them interesting and pleasant, even when I already know the subject matter.
What equipment have you taken? Sleeping bag and sleeping mat? You stay warm?
0:36 Bahahaha
CRACKED ME UP!!! Haha :-D
Almost pissed myself...
Love the pinned comments. Very supportive. 😀
Thanks Hazey , I have similar setup but only in one cup and am also doing the c2c next summer so will modify my setup . Doing mine for wish upon a star , have you thought of doing yours for a charity ? Maybe Mind , or your choice anyway .
oh and have a belting new year
Ha ha - I lived in a flat in Liverpool many years ago and the walls were pink. I kept them because under lamp light I found it was mellow. Since then I've always said, "Think pink." Great little cook-set Hazey - nice extra. I trust you're well. All the best for 2018. Mark
Good to hear from you mate, I'm all good. Hope all is well in your world. I wish you a healthy and wonderful new year!
Nice to hear you're well Hazey. I'm getting there after a super hard trek in 2017. Yes - health is the one. Take care.
Thanks for sharing. I may need to pickup the larger toaks pot.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
My wife bought me one of your t-shirts, that's love.
Shout out to your wife!
T shirts? Dafuq r they listed?
link bellow the vid sir chunky. Happy new year
Tracked down chao thao it’s all sorted Hazey !
Not sure but is that kit self contained?
i've got the same toaks pots. i'm really happy with them.
you can make a pot cozy for the 900ml out of reflectix and it will still fit nicely in the orange bag. i'd also suggest the silicone 'hotlips" from snow peak. they work perfectly on the toaks 550ml. keeps you from burning your lip when drinking hot liquids.
Great spot for a video, cool kit. Thanks ✌🏽
Hi
Are there any measurements markers engraved in pots
Thanks 🔥

Merry New Year Hazey ! Have a good one mate...
You too homie!
Great kit.
What alternative would you recommend for a newbie wild-camper, perhaps made of stainless steel or aluminium?
Titanium looks great but pretty expensive.
Suppose a big like s super compact down sleeping bag, that would be something you aim for, not a first bag ... Unless you've just won the Lottery 🤣
Stunning vista😊 cheers.
Like the cook kit, mine needs its own bag lol

Hey Haze, you also have the 750 ml pot correct? Does it nest inside the 900 ml ? Always enjoy your videos and thanks for sharing, it's like a top tip in every episode. Still waiting for you to get a wine skin and leave the bottles at home. ;)
Hi, the 750ml doesn’t nest in 900 unfortunately. I’ll invest in a wine skin in 2018. Have a great new year!
