- The Outer Banks, a top travel destination and best holiday vacation in North Carolina. They are barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina in the United States. The Outer Banks are the site of the first flight by the Wright Brothers, hideout of the pirate Blackbeard, and graveyard of the Atlantic with 1000s of ships shipwrecked off of the coast. We are visiting the southern towns of Ocracoke and Hatteras and bringing back out travel tips and advice.

While I've been to the Outer Banks before, this was my first time to Ocracoke. It takes a little bit of extra planning with the ferry, but it is so worth it! Ocracoke has been on my bucket list for a bit and I am so happy I was able to see it. Thanks for coming along on this adventure with me 😄
The OBX is amazing, Ocracoke is next level. I have never stayed there (have stayed in Duck to Buxton) but have visited many times on my trips down there. My only remaining place to visit truly is Carova, the 4x4 beach north of Corolla. As far as Ocracoke is concerned Jimmy Buffett himself has called it the Key West of the North. Having been to both truly he hit it on the head by saying that.
The OBX is my happy place, from Corolla to Ocracoke, it truly doesn't matter... Each town holds a special place in my heart and just to get away there is amazing. Will be back there in August and it will be my yearly excape from reality, again truly my happy place.

Thank you - beautifully photographed video. We love OBX - heading to Kill Devil Hills in October with planned trip down to Hatteras ferry dock for shopping and lunch. Then back to the Sanderling Resort in Duck for New Year’s Eve. Thanks again.
