The key to successful commodities investing is to understand the cycles and what the drivers of those cycles are. Investors who specialize in other sectors tend to be clueless when it comes to commodity cycles and when you invest outside your area of expertise you are most likely going to lose money. If you do understand the cycles then you can do quite well.

Thanks for the video. I think it will good to know the real reason behind all these sells and buys from the super investors. I don’t think it’s fair to speculate on these trades. I saw buffet sold earlier CVX in Q3

Copper and gold businesses are quite complex, so it is wiser to hold them in comparison to coal or oil companies
Is it possible that the oxy and cvx plays have to do with the hydrogen economy taking shape ? These companies are investing heavily in hydrogen production .

Berkshire didn't trim Apple, they had 20M shared transfer after their acquisition last Q, so they are probably selling out of that. I wouldn't call 10M shares out of 920M is "trimming"
Maybe less about potential monetary inflation and more about an anticipated substantial increase in energy and electricity demand. Maybe.
Isn't Buffet building a large stake in a new financial company (has asked to keep secret until he's built out his position)?

Great video! Silver is usually produced as a byproduct of copper mining. Silver paste is necessary for effective solar panel manufacturing. In my opinion, These trades seems to be an energy related commodities play. Demand for solar is off the wall especially in China, reporting outlets (such as silver institute/metals focus) are underestimating photovoltaic demand. Solar panels need silver as they are designed to be 20-25 year applications (copper rusts after 5). Newer panel tech (such as TOPCon) use more silver than before for efficiency increases. Silver is also found in gold mining operations as well.

Daniel, while these legends should be respected, these coal, goald plays are terrible; even if they make short term gain, its still not worth it. They are just resisting better options like NG/LNG, bitcoin, Uranium(i agree with that one) etc etc; you sohuld profile Bill Miller instead :)
