Thank you for spearheading this initiative. Long overdue. We need to address this issue in the Koksilah watershed also , again , “Private Land” Should never have been private.
I did what was called 'creek cleaning' near squamish about 30 years ago. Back then, bc forestry was starting to be heavily criticized for their clear-cuts destroying creeks. The creeks in these clear-cuts were 100% suffocated; it was rare to see water flowing normally through rocks, rather than buried under slash. There were not a few stagnant disgusting 'pools' in the clearcuts because the water was artificially dammed.
@@boundaryforest Is funny in the context of humans believing we are, or will be 'enlightened'. It is proof of the Bible; that we are lost and need a Moral Good (Jesus' blood) outside our self in order to have hope for humanity. And no, I'm not 'religious' - the Bible is Truth, but there is not a popular denomination on the planet that obeys it.
Amazing. Thank you. Reminded me of "Big Timber" on Netflix. But he is a small independent mill who logs on government land. Large land holdings must be brought to follow watershed guidelines. The last minute of the video reminded me of Allan Savory at Polyface Farm having a discussion about the future of regenerative farming. Holistic management of land by all government agencies was his number one request!
BC exports 85% of its lumber outside Canada. Only 15% is kept in BC and Canada. If BC's harvest was 30% of the current amount, and exports were greatly reduced, there would be plenty of lumber for houses in BC and to sell to other Canadians. The only ones profiting from BC timber are a small number of corporations (many foreign-owned), not the people of BC. 55,000 BC forestry jobs have been lost in the past 20 years due to mechanization and super-mills.
@@SueFerreira75 Yes. Wanting clean water and sensible logging requirements that preserve the land for the future is "childish, selfish, immature, ignorant, and short sighted?" Intentional or not, it's satire.

It is shocking how forestry laws allow the function of creeks and streams to be ignored.

EXCELLENT!
So sad
What needs to be done is to open all that land up to the public again.

This has to be stopped
The resource industries on Vancouver Island are excessive.
Too kate.
The entire backcountry looks likr a warzone
Go out Elsie lake and yeah!
The more trees that get cut down the less moisture and higher heat there will be and then dirt will erode
What is to be done to address wildfires from accumulated deadfall?
Is the Tsable Watershed still being logged?
Sorry, folks...money ALWAYS wins. Sad but true.
We need timber to build houses. Thank our immigration policy for the massive demand.
