Thank you for this review. You are the first I found to mention the inception mode. My Lumix weighs 900 g with lens and inception doesn`t work at all. It does a quick half turn and then goes to sleep mode.
I know nothing about Gimbals, i'm looking to start at a low price with either a DJI mobile 6 or this. question, i know this vid is old but to get started would this gimbal support phones and go pros without buying additional accessories?
Hey bro… great review. Could I ask you what plate you have on your camera? I want to easily switch between tripod and gimbal so I need to buy an adapter clamp and plate for my tripod that will also fit the manfrotto clamp on the gimbal.
That was a fantastic review. I'll keep your link for when I will likely buy this item. Can you please tell me if it is possible to mount this gimbal on a separate tripod?
Awesome! It is indeed possible to mount it. You have a 1/4" and a 3/8" thread to choose from. I'd suggest using both if you can, if you're using a quick release
Arca Swiss is a fine plate, but the point I was making is that the aircross 2 just comes with the L bracket so you'd need to remove your arca Swiss plate anyway unless you own a small quick release you can add to it. It was less about the type of mount and more about proprietary mounting systems that require you to have to change your setup in any way to use it
@@dodmedia Errm, I thought the normal kit comes with a Manfrotto plate, and the pro kit adds the Arca Swiss one, which if you have to buy separately costs a lot of money (the Gudsen one I mean). I own the pro kit, and that's what I got.
Hey, I'm looking for a way to film myself in motion, so a gimbal tracker that perhaps has a face recognition option rather than just tracking my phone. As I wont be able to carry my phone with me all the time due to costume situations. I'd really appreciate any advice, thank you
Sure, theres a mounting thread which you can add a friction arms to and stick a monitor on there. I'd recommend using a hand grib handle like Smallrigs one instead though, it doesn't add much size to the gimbal and makes operating easier too. You can easily add any accessories you need then.
Hello. Could pls help me with my problem: recently a bought this gimbal, and using it with my Sony a6400 + 16-50mm lens ( that’s is the whole set up). And from the beginning my gimbal started shaking, and even autotune didn’t solve that problem. So I should manually change motor parameters, including motor - power up to 10/15/20, and motor - filter up to 30/10/8 And such parameter’s works well, but if I manually tilt my camera down, or trying to shoot low angles, it start’s shaking again. And I need to change motor’s parameters that work for specific purpose. Does it mean that I can’t use these motor parameter’s for whole shooting angles and situations, and every time need to change them, depend’s on the angle I want to shoot? Is there any universal solution, or maybe motor parameters that works well in all situation? The same thing happens when I want to use my Sony flip screen - gimbal start’s shaking, but as far as I understood it because of dis-balancing? And one more thing - every time I’m using inception mode ( with different motor’s parameters), and put gimbal in a «flash light position» while the gimbal rolling, I can feel kind of light pulls, or pushes that comes from the motors, for a full 360 degree roll it’s like 2 pushes. So footage comes not super smooth and you can see these pushes on the video. If I hold my gimbal vertically with camera looking up, there is no such a problem. Is that a normal reaction of my gimbal in the inception mode, or it is because my camera is very light? Thank you
It just sounds to me like it's not properly balanced. I had a similar issue recently trying out a bigger gimbal for a cinema rig and I was sure I'd balanced it properly but I was getting vibrating motors at certain angles, so then I adjusted it again and it worked perfectly. The most common mistake is the tilt axis. Check that this has the centre of gravity just right. Not too top or bottom heavy. Autotune is nice but I don't find it all that accurate, and it just tells the gimbal where to put extra power but on a light setup you shouldn't use extra power on the motors or they start to vibrate.. so yeah I'd check the balance again first.
I'd say the 501 plate is pretty universally accepted. Same as Arca Swiss. When I say proprietary I mean that you need a specific plate for this which won't necessarily work on any other piece of gear.

Literally just ordered this, not the pro kit but can't wait.
So glad I found your honest review... subscribed 😁

Would you prefer this or the slider you reviewed. Great video you earned a new sub!!
Thanks for the nice review. What's your favorite gimbal for the Sony A6500?
Would you recommend this gimbal over equivalent priced ronin brand gimbals?
Great review. Thanks.
Great review!!
Can you please share the link for the Arca-Swiss Undermount for the ifocus M?
Hey bro… great review.

I want to easily switch between tripod and gimbal so I need to buy an adapter clamp and plate for my tripod that will also fit the manfrotto clamp on the gimbal.
Thanks for the honest review. is it compatible with sony rx10 iv?
Great to hear your thoughts on this my man.
would you be some more detailed about iFocus motor mount? what kind of problems with it?
Have you got a link for the arca swiss undermount plate with rod support - cheers!
Did it not come with your Aircross 2?
I m planning buy gimbal for sony a7iii with Tamron 28-75. I am confused between dji RSC 2 and moza air cross 2.. which one you recommend ?
Hey - Where did you purchase the Arca-Swiss mount for the iFocus M? Im having the same issue. Thanks!
is it compatible with a panasonic g7?
is this any good for the hcx1000 pro video camera thankyou

Can i charge my sonya6400 through the gimbal?
Hello, which cameras can be used with moza??
nice review...u were on the topic track
Very strange, I am put off by Manfrotto plates. The most used mount is Arca Swiss, I have everything based on it.

Can you link the Arca Swiss under mount plate with rod support? I’d love to use the iFocus but don’t want to have to keep switching plates
Hello, do you know if it is possible to attach a second handle to it, and not hold on to one with both hands.
Sure just add an additional side handle like the Smallrig one

mine always go sleep mode when its ON, do you have any idea about it?
I had that when I was putting too heavy or unbalanced a load on it
Is there any way to attach a field monitor to this ?

Nice review. 👍
sometimes it not connect to bluetooth..... what to do?
Does anybody know or has tested, if second axis can be rotated 180 degrees, so that L-bracket connection point would be on left side?

@@dodmedia thank you for answering. Unfortunately, the balance is fine. Maybe should play more with motor - filter parameters...
So do you think this is just a protoype?
13 minute review WITHOUT SAMPLE CLIPS?
And What is your favorite gimbal at this point - 2 years after the making of this video?
I've got to say right now it's the Moza Aircoss 3. It's tiny, sturdy, and strong. I'll be making a review of it in the next few weeks.
Manfrotto is proprietary. Am I being dense?
I'd say the 501 plate is pretty universally accepted. Same as Arca Swiss. When I say proprietary I mean that you need a specific plate for this which won't necessarily work on any other piece of gear.
