I'm not sure why, after a couple of decades listening to Christian metal, that I never heard of this band until recently... they have become one of my favorite bands!
I am a metalhead, I'm Christian too, and I never understand why we can't serve to God trough the music, the one we like of course, I feel proud of listening people who are not afraid to show their beliefs, and of exalting God with the music gender they love, and the one that we all love too... :D
Metal Catholic brother here. Yes, catholic metal makes me feel much more rooted in my believe. Its like putting on the vest with plate armour to face the temptations in life. God bless you, brother.

TheBros2theend Here are 5 more translations of that same verse for a bit of fun :) reject whatever is harmful (TNIV) abstain from every form of evil (NKJV) avoid every kind of evil (GNT) don't have anything to do with evil (CEV) abstain from every form of evil (NASB) The KJV itself I can see could easily be misinterpreted in to make yourself look good to other people. (in other words, listening to songs like this will likely be offensive to a lot of people, and those people might judge you as evil for listening to it. As a result, don't listen to this kind of music. lol.) However when expanded to more translations, the verse more accurately states that you should stay away from anything that even looks like it will displease God (hate all forms of evil), and has absolutely nothing to do with pleasing man. As far music, I'd say all forms of music is neither good or evil, until you put lyrics in them. Then the question becomes, do the lyrics of the song your listening to glorify God?
No its not people who think its against religion per say. You see Metal originally was often made by people who had a world view that was a bit influenced of Friedrich Nietzsche, this is mostly doom and black metal. In those genres it can take many forms it can be counter god like satanic, but it can also hold other religious ideals like buddism, paganism or pre christian religious values. If you look around a bit moore you see that other genres like power metal, synt/pop metal, punk metal, grounge and many others all are filled with a variety of bands fusing many ideals, ideologies in various ways. Yes some are anti- religion others are anti one certain religion, some are pro religion, others doesnt event bring religion up in their music, some write about fantasy, others about science fictions... bands sometimes write about abuse, dangers, they might write anything really, sex is also not that unusual in metal. The problem is the putting everyone in two corners mentality, some that say metal is just about anti religion or others that say its all about religion. It really isnt... metal is as varied in tone, melodies, text, meaning, ideals, sound, singing, you name it as there are stars in the sky. There are moore bands out there that proves that metal isnt lacking bands with religious values weather they are abrahamic, budists or pagan among many, if thats important to one. Metal can be about anything, I wish people would fight less among the bands comment section, and instead just accept that there is lots of variations and enjoyment to be had weather you are into one band or genre or many, and lets accept that we like different and thats ok :) Personally im not christian, im not a believer of any faith and I never will be, but I still can enjoy songs from this band and others that sing about religion of various sorts, aswell as I can enjoy that music that sing with satanic messages or deal in other religions like ancient greek or old germanic religions like the pagan ones of old. To me these songs will not carry weight and deep meaning as for others, they will be about what I consider myths and tales, and that entertain me to some degree, and its all about how we all interpret songs, let us be able to, and enjoy music the way we all do in our own various ways.
