Do you have any recommendations for something to cut laminated vinyl for die cut stickers? I was considering a graphtec plotter for this purpose but wanted to hear your recommendation.
Okay I think you convinced me! I'm looking to add a Flatbed printer and F1612 but not at the same time. F1612 will help me finishing products and I can still print/ mount & cut if need be. Thanks for doing these videos!
That's a great way to put it. It's been a game changer at the finishing steps for projects. I hate manually cutting banners and posters, etc. But letting the machine do the work. It's beautiful.
The other shops are giving you crap for having a suma because they don't have one/cant get one. Just keep doing what you do, you don't owe explanations to anyone except yourself
Great to see you being able to increase business with the flatbed. I've just bought the Intec FB8000PRO flatbed as an upgrade for my sticker printing, which is nowhere near the league of yours (can cut upto approx 25 x 18 inches) but have been thinking of doing boxes with it as well. Would love to see a video of you doing boxes on the Konica and then cutting/creasing them on the summa :)
@@ttms I need to get my confidence up to do some RUclips videos. May well do a video setting it up and then try and do some of the machine running when it’s up and running :)
Hi! Thanks for making these videos!!! Highly appreciated… I have a question, we are cutting wallpaper on the summa that is pre-pasted paper material and the paper is warping on the summa (meaning not laying flat on the summa), so the cuts between the seams are not always straight and this is a huge issue for us. Do you have any suggestions how can we make this paper lay nice and flat on the bed when the vacuum is coming on? Thanks a lot!!!
Can you lower the temperature when printing so the curl isn't as bad? The other option is I think you can have the machine pause after advancing so you can get the bubbles out before it starts cutting again.
My bother wanted to pay me hourly to do the job. I said I have no idea what to charge. He said he'd charge $175, so I agreed. I should probably do some better math to determine it, but it's been a good number.
I'd get on kongsberg or the colex cutter if that's your main focus. If you don't need the registration ability (cameras), you could also just get a cnc machine to cut the pieces out. That would save you a lot of money.
No it doesn't we have a tangential cutter a summa, and we're now looking at a flatbed, have you done cut through on a roll to roll successfully? not perf cut, completely cut through
leonardo, you are right, not everyone needs a flat bed, but I wouldn't want to run a shop without one. It makes the finishing process so much easier on so many products. It's also nice having the registration alignment for the CNC side of things too. Not many have that.
The tangential roll cutter is a great machine. It's limited on the media it can run. If I was just stickers, absolutely. I wanted something that could do just about anything I wanted it to do.

Those things look sweet. I had my eye on the smaller one for a long time. I'll work on a video.

What did you base your hourly rate on? Love to have one ...I have Summa's tangential roll cutter

What would you suggest for a one man company that does lots of ACM and Foamex? I am currently cutting them all out by hand..

B-Flute cardboard, where you buying from?
I get it from a local packaging supplier. I search for them on google in my area until I found one that would sell me sheets for a decent price.
nice but not every one need a flat bed suma. roll to roll does same thing and a smal cnc. and the tangentail roll cutter does the same for stickers.

why not go with a summa tangential roll cutter cutter

@@ttms we’ve got the tangential roll cutter it’s brilliant but we’re still eyeing up one of these in the new year!
