You should have way more thumbs up than you do. Growing up watching Burt he too was one of my heroes and favorite actors. I'm 52 now and miss him every day. Thank you for what you're doing your doing/did a great job. God bless you brother
Thanks Shawn... Hopefully I'll get the push at some point to expand the views. I don't really understand how the algorithms work. I too am 52 so we share the same young eyes and ears on the magic of Burt in the 70's. All my best to you! Cheers! Gator
Burt Reynolds’s is one of my favorite actors, I love Smoky and bandit
Being who I am and liking what I like, how am I just discovering this channel?
Well done. Keep it coming
In the car chase scene filmed on the old Sidney Lanier vertical lift bridge in Brunswick and in Savannah at the beginning of The Longest Yard, Burt can be seen driving through a boarded up chain-link fence onto Broughton Street and then down Bull Street into Forsyth Park past the famous fountain and then taking the corner from Victory Drive onto Skidaway and then turning into the parking beside the Krispy Kreme doughnut place that I ordered from many times in my youth (which still exists in the same spot) as I only lived about a mile away on Bonaventure. And when Burt is shown hitting the shopping cart in front of the Eckert Drugs parking lot, I'm pretty sure that was shot in the old K-Mart shopping center about 100 yards behind the Krispy Kreme.
Thanks so much for the cool video Gator, I especially love the info on the Longest Yard which is tied with Sharky's Machine for my favorite Burt movie! It was great to see how real the football scenes were and how they made good use of improvised plays. I credit this movie as a big reason why I became such a big football fan and found playing high school football to be such a transformative experience in my life.
Before I was born, my father got a prison guard job at Reidsville, but he quit after the first day. He then got a job on the Tybee Island police force and ended up spending alot of time with his co-workers (and my mother!) watching the dancers at the Black Lace strip club on Tybee Island.
I don’t understand how this group of videos have such a low number of views
This is a very professional and informative look back at Burt’s career.
Thanks so much Gator
Thanks Ryan... I feel like we may be hitting a little surge finally. Probably has a lot to do with how my videos climb the search engines in You Tube. I'm thrilled with the response so far. Hopefully word of mouth from people like you will get this channel moving. I have been disappointed but patient and feel like as long as I keep dropping quality material, my time will come. Very much appreciate the support. Cheers! Gator
Host is too cheesy.
I am waiting for Chapter 6. When I first began watching movies as kid Burt was the definition of movie star.
Hopefully October 2022
Outstanding conclusion Gator! I still remember those Carson classic moments as a kid. I also remember the first time I saw "The Longest Yard." I cringed when Ed Lauter, another great actor who passed a few years back, pointed that rifle at Burt's back. The relief of that moment when Ed lowered the rifle as Burt picked up the game ball was felt by all. It was certainly the right choice not to kill that character off. I learned a lot Gator! Again, an outstanding job!
Thank you Mr. Knapp. Carson was the best! These current late night hacks couldn’t carry Johnny’a jock strap. Thanks again for the kind review. Cheers good buddy! Gator 🐊
That Carson episode was classic, historic, and hilarious television! Puts to shame 90% of all late night TV, especially over the past twenty years or so.
What an incredible life he had. A true legend in so many ways. One of a kind, we will never see the likes of again. Your videos are awesome by the way. I'm sure burt would think so too!
Thanks Bob! I wish I had done this years before he left us. I appreciate the kind words. Cheers! Gator
Another episode well done. I miss him a lot and when I watch these clips it's makes me smile. Jimmy lived near me in Hollywood Florida. I never realized he was running with Burt in the backfield on The Longest Yard. I'm very sorry they never reconciled their differences as Jimmy or "Hooks" as we fondly called him was a great person as well. And your room with the fireplace is spectacular. Keep up the good work and thank you.
Thanks Marc. I really appreciate your feedback. On to Chapter 3... Should be EPIC. Cheers! Gator
This is the definitive doc on Reynolds.
Thank you Paul... Mighty kind of you. Cheers! Gator
Thanks so much for creating these chapters about Burt! It’s so well done and very enjoyable to watch.
So glad you found the channel. Cheers! Gator 🐊

@@GATORMcKLUSKYreviews I loved Burt i grew up with his movies i am a child of the late 60s and i turned 16 in 1980.
Great job again - my favourite time period for Burt Reynolds - my favourite movies are Deliverance, White Lightning and The Longest Yard.
Hard to pick favorites... "Hooper" is one I tend to watch the most. I feel like it really captures all of Burt's skills in one film. Cheers! Gator
Fantastic tribute and beautiful production! Many thanks! This is AMAZING

I just discovered, and subscribed, to your channel. Sir, I had to look 3 times, as I was sure you had 800K subs. Your work is outstanding, fair, and very interesting. Thank you!
Thank you Charles. That warms my heart. I hope the channel finds her audience eventually so I can celebrate this comment of yours once we really do hit 800k subs. Cheers! Gator 🐊
Great job! Really looking forward to the next chapter!
Thanks Mr. K... The next one will be EPIC!
I think Bert was the best. Thanks for posting this channel.
He was the real tough guy. Boxer, football star, stuntman and an actor for fun. To bad he didnt win academy award for boogie nights. He should have.
So true. Cheers! Gator
I enjoy the story and the crib !!! But chill out with the crazy western we're???? You are awesome!!!
Thanks! I guess??? Cheers! Gator 🐊
You did a lot of work and research. Very well done. This brought back a lot of memories for me as I graduated from high school in 74 and you basically covered my teen years. I used to watch the Carol Burnett Show regularly and I remember Burt being very funny on it. Looking forward to part 3.
Kel and Rich did an interview with me a couple of months ago. We talked about music that I liked. They posted it on their channel this weekend. Check it out if you're interested.
I will definitely check it out... I have to catch up on a few of their recent reaction videos. They are spectacular people. Thanks so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers! Gator
I'm actually reading Burt's book But Enough About Me at the moment..
Great book... His first one “My Life” is better but both worth reading.
Gator I Like Gunsmoke And Dan August As Well As In Deliverance.
It always seemed his movies were more serious before he grew a mustache, lol.
hmmmm.... I'll need to research that... LOL Cheers! Gator
It's an odd question, but do you know the name of the reporter at 13:30?
He’s funny 😂😂❤🎉🎉
There is more to it on how that guy died, he had cuts & bruises, alot of blood on the floor, messed up room like there had been a fight. Years later the lady in question said that she believed it was a homicide. 🤔
In 1989 I was in a Bar in Waycross Ga. Old Man and I started talking and I said they say Burt lived Here way Back and he said oh Yea in Fact I was and Extra in the Longest Yard it was the swamp scene and sure enough it was him he was in Reidsville Prison at the time and Burt would talk and hang out with the Prisoners' During Filming and one day on the set a Helicopter come flying in and Burt said to the Guy's Oh Shit here Comes that Bitch ...And the Helicopter landed and who gets off Dinah Shore ...True Story Burt was probably Showing out in Front of the Guys
I Don't Like Burt Reynolds Cause He's An Alcoholic Drunk,Big Time Cheater,Woman Beater And Drug Addict,The Only TV Series With Burt Reynolds I Liked Were,Gunsmoke And Dan August As Well As In The Movie Deliverance.
Well that’s nice
