That is STAGGERING!!! What on earth gave you the idea & did you envisage just how beautiful it would turn out😵💫 You are a fabulous artist! And the camera work was pretty impressive too.

I just love the way that you continue to fight and not give up. And your pieces always end up being gorgeous. I can't even imagine trying cork. Great job, and please keep sharing your adventures. Thank you!
@@DavidAdamsen I love all your work! A few tips I picked up from other creators: if you have a difficult medium that is delicate like cork, a stabilizing resin can help if it's soaked before hand. Also, if you want more separation in your resin colors, let it sit and thicken for a bit before you pour it. You probably already know this, but if you don't, I hope you find it helpful!
@@CAlise2024 the thing about cork though is that it is impermeable. It seemed not even super thin epoxy or CA glue soaked into it at all. But I did let the casting resin sit overnight before pouring.
I was wondering where you were going with the turning and whether it would turn out well. I like the color scheme and the finish. Everything seemed to work out well in the end. For a second, was not sure if cork would turn well. To my surprise with some resin, it did!!!! In the end, it turned out beautifully, David.
Cheers! Yeah I had the same misgivings, and the final piece isn’t perfect but it’s the beat I could do without a way to stabilize the cork in a vacuum chamber.
Lovely colours. I imagine it would be easier using cork for larger items if trying to make the finished product less heavy than using, say, the root of an oak tree. As always, I am in awe of your talent. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Ahhh, yes. I couldn’t put my finger on it. That impermeability must also curb some creativity, having to work a certain way with cork. @@DavidAdamsen Thank you for your response.
David, That was truly a masterful work of art. Who knew that cork could be used for more than just floor covering and sound proofing. Amazingly beautiful as breathing. More. Bravo! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I REALLY like those Freud carbide Forstner bits. They seem to work much better than traditional Forstner bit designs. Great work as usual! Thanks for sharing!
Hey David! Nice job on the project! I’ve been a fan of yours for a while just forgot about you when you had broken your arm back in 2019 I believe it was?! Great to see its functioning like nothing ever happened. Also remember some of your old works from those days! You’re the one that’s inspired me to do my own woodworking. Can’t thank you enough brother! Keep up the good work!😎👍🏻
That came out really nice. I really liked how thw colors blended into soft edges, wood grain and details are beautiful. I saw you had a stock pile. This material would look good done in a white pearl as well.
Stunning work, David! Really well done!!! 😃 But it didn't look fun to work with cork! 😬 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊 And happy holidays!
Amazing work..the process was mammoth...interesting booth you built over lathe. Im assuming it was for dust control when coating piece with epoxy sealer❤❤❤
