Both were dope... I like TSU for the W... They pack a punch, they are clean and outside of the B Tones, pretty balanced. PV has a dope dark sound, can feel a lil to muddy but still solid sound.
Y’all talking about the camera is closer to TSU. TSU is just more direct into the camera. PV just playing towards the cicadas over in the corner. TSU looks closer because the side they’re on is straight across. And there’s more people on that side at one point that made them appear closer. PV is at an angle that goes away then across: a corner. That doesn’t stop the center from being in the center.
It's funny... Visiting bands used to complain about TSU being under the canopy because it made them louder, now what's the excuse for PV? They should have been next to the big screen for a balanced battle, but i don't think it mattered much. In person, TSU was heard loud and clear without the canopy. I was sitting in the opposite endzone and felt almost every song.
PV’s lack of non response starting at 11:30-13:05 was WORSE than the 41 seconds of silence TXSU caused them in the 5th last year. That’s flat and late. None of my Band Directors would come in unprepared slow and remedial. All for a tune that lasted 1 min and 14 seconds? Y’all could’ve sat there and prayed longer for that!
Not quite sure how some of you judge these battles at all. For those who actually marched I’m sure you all will agree when I say this. TXSU has amazing arrangements so they win in that category, however PV has a better sound overall. They are very clean with their sound. So depending on what is more important to you then there you go. I am all about the sound quality overall therefore I have to give this one to PV
I was there. I've been a marching musician, professional jazz musician and a producer briefly. Prairie view had more individual mistakes, wrong notes and bad tone between euphoniums and mellos when they blew super loud. The Ocean was more precise. As an ensemble the Ocean was more in control, more cohesive sound, cleaner and played way more challenging things. PV has greatly improved since last year. This wasn't a walk in the park. But it was clear to me the Ocean outclassed PV in that regard.
@georgefoley2128 All of the places. Each section isn't playing as a cohesive group. lts all over the place at times. lts better than last year, but they have a lot of work to do.
I’m PVAMU to my heart 💜 don’t try us! But txsu was the better band, but we are improving this is our first game why yaw so critical. Plus most times we save the smoke for SU and JSU.
Why are y’all saving smoke for a band y’all can’t touch? Out of Pv and Txsu, txsu is the band that can give SU and JSU a run. Y’all smoke is only good enough for lower tier bands like Alcorn and Grambling.
@@Wickwatcher with you being there in person I can’t argue how they sound because I wasn’t there. All I’m saying is nobody is saying they can’t wait to see PV up against SU or JSU, but you hear it with TXSU. PV sounds amazing in this clip, but I can’t believe they save smoke for JSU or SU when they are not even in the same conversations.
@Hamiltonworld810 idk if they save "smoke" or not, that's for them to answer, I just know last year TXSU sent smoke across the field and I felt it in my soul. This year, I didn't get that feeling. It may just be the stadium set up, they did sound good, just sounded a lil muffled to me. Music is subjective though so it's just my opinion. PV is much improved, last year TXSU put them in a coffin in my opinion.
@@Wickwatcherman PV had an off season and sTu had their first half decent season in damn near 20 years. They were excited. Shits back to normal now. sTu is ok at best and PV is back on track with a clean rich sound.
Prairie View aren’t hitting attacks and releases the same. Complete phrasing is hit or miss. Intonation is off on a couple songs too. I’m trying to figure out if that’s clean to y’all. Lol just because the Ocean plays with more power doesn’t mean PV is clean. Just because PV is playing with more volume doesn’t give them the W either. That’s how a band their size in the SWAC SHOULD sound. Lmao y’all are delusional. The only people giving the storm the W are alum and jukes who hate the ocean cause they got Simmons 😂😂
It’s an issue when it’s done to her huh but when she get her butt on the field and talk her smake against the ocean it’s not a problem right ? By the way the Ocean didn’t just go alright the arrangements was way better and Pv was over blowing especially the tubas
@@georgefoley2128"overblowing" back in the day that's what folks used to say when they couldn't match sound. And give that arrangement shit a rest. I don’t have the capacity to judge the music, songs, and FANFARES that were stretched way too long to be a song. I’m annoyed either way, although there’s a slight edge in one direction for music selection. But I prefer TXSU’s sound.
sTu fans out in force "wooshin" like a tire with a big ass nail in it trying to save face. 🤣 Shits back normal. Not only does PV sound better but they happened to be louder. That's just a side effect at PV but we know its what sTu lives for in their quest to be SU and they couldn't even win at that 🤣.

Sound quality was certainly not an issue for TSU. TSU was cleaning house. LOUDER and booming is not necessarily "quality".
Apparently you not listening to the same thing I’m listening to. Pv was all over the place and over blowing. TxSU got this
