Ok. I love Hilary Duff. Have since I was a kid. Like more than 13 years ago she was my idol. LOVE this song, and I was really excited for the music video. LOVE the aesthetic 100%. Her outfits, the colour schemes, the retro look, dancing, etc. But I was actually reeeally bummed out that they spent 50% of the video talking about Tindr. Like I understand product placement is needed, because music videos cost millions of dollars to make. HOWEVER they could have easily shown her on Tinder on her phone for a few shots, etc and we would have assumed the song was about someone she met on there and it would still serve it's purpose. I love this version of the video! When I watch it I don't see Hilary Duff as a comercial product. I see her as a girl who grew up under the pressure of being a good example of a Disney girl for her fans, and who got so involved in fame during her youth that she couldn't enjoy certain delights of being young, and now she is giving herself the chance to try them, and she ends up having a wonderful time.
This doesn't seem like a promo video at all. It looks like she's having fun and people need to lighten up. And for everyone complaining about her talking during parts of the video, there is a lovely little box to the right of the comment section that you can click on so you can listen to the song. Stop bitching about everything and let her do what she wants.

As someone who has been a HUGE Hilary fan since 2003, I'm a little disappointed with all the product placement she's had in her videos lately. Chasing The Sun had a lot of product placement (EOS chapstick and a few other things). All About You video was pretty much all about her Amazon phone. And now this video is pretty much a Tinder commercial. I can't imagine she's that hard up for money that she has to do all of this. But I guess easy money is easy money.

Neither dialogues were needed, only the scenes with her friends and take the cell showing Tinder would have been ok but not, the whole video is an excuse to advertise Tinder. Product placement used to be more subtle. It's a joke that the lyric video is the only one we can really connect with the song rather than the official music video.

Even though I hate it when artists shamelessly use their videos for publicity, the connection between this ad/interview/music is incredible! I think the extremely positive message (about dating) it carries is enough for me to like this video. I loved all of her older music, and perhaps she is slowly making a strong comeback. I like the tinder parts of the video, its something different, but i do agree with others that their should be a second video without the tinder parts and cut aways. Even if its advertising whats wrong with that, Beats is in almost every other music video you see and Tinder is in the I Really Like You video too, no complaints about that is there? And theres shameless advertising for the new Fiat 500 X as well. Not gonna lie, it's kinda growing on me. I'm looking at it like these Tinder dates are the story line for the music video. The song is all about the feeling you get when you first connect with someone. Before all the commitments and promises, it's all about the initial connection and "sparks". It show Hilary herself taking this risk and going on these blind dates and not some made-up story line. It doesn't get more personal than that.
I personally would have liked to see the full music video. But Hilary is sharing her feelings and explaining how this song came to her. So I can respect that. I liked it but wish I could see her dance more she looked super hype and into it.

I love this version of the video! When I watch it I don't see Hilary Duff as a comercial product. I see her as a girl who grew up under the pressure of being a good example of a Disney girl for her fans, and who got so involved in fame during her youth that she couldn't enjoy certain delights of being young, and now she is giving herself the chance to try them, and she ends up having a wonderful time.

As someone who has been a HUGE Hilary fan since 2003, I'm a little disappointed with all the product placement she's had in her videos lately. Chasing The Sun had a lot of product placement (EOS chapstick and a few other things). All About You video was pretty much all about her Amazon phone. And now this video is pretty much a Tinder commercial. I can't imagine she's that hard up for money that she has to do all of this. But I guess easy money is easy money.

Neither dialogues were needed, only the scenes with her friends and take the cell showing Tinder would have been ok but not, the whole video is an excuse to advertise Tinder. Product placement used to be more subtle. It's a joke that the lyric video is the only one we can really connect with the song rather than the official music video.

Even though I hate it when artists shamelessly use their videos for publicity, the connection between this ad/interview/music is incredible! I think the extremely positive message (about dating) it carries is enough for me to like this video. I loved all of her older music, and perhaps she is slowly making a strong comeback. Not gonna lie, it's kinda growing on me. I'm looking at it like these Tinder dates are the story line for the music video. The song is all about the feeling you get when you first connect with someone. Before all the commitments and promises, it's all about the initial connection and "sparks". It show Hilary herself taking this risk and going on these blind dates and not some made-up story line. It doesn't get more personal than that.
