2002 Audi S3 8L review! The Audi S3 8L is one of the coolest cars we didn't get in North America -- an amazing hot hatchback. The S3 8L wasn't sold in the USA -- so today I'm borrowing one in the US to review the Audi S3 and show you what we're missing. First I'll take you on a tour of the Audi S3, then I'll drive it and show you what it's like behind the wheel.

Hot hatches were around long before this car. The S3 8L created the "premium hatch" segment - although some argue the Mk3 Golf VR6 was first. 210bhp (later 225bhp) and 4WD in a hatch was unheard of in 1999. This car shared the same underpinnings as the Mk4 R32.

Put in an extra 5 k of love and no one will notice it beeing a 20+ year old car.

Great Video, I m a proud owner one of these here in Germany, it's a amazing car. It's easily keep up with a golf 7 gti or megane rs or something like that. It s a very powerful design (because of the wide fenders) but it's very understatement in the same way.

I have one of these.
They will easily make power with just a little hybrid turbo setup. When done this way they WILL wipe the floor all day with any GTi, Megane RS etc lol Very underrated car these are
Hello, I'm hoping to get one soon. what mods to the engine or things around it have you done that resulted in higher performance levels?
@@matasgr9991 Ko4 23 hybrid, Bosch 550cc injectors, installing meth soon, have full 76mm exhaust, 80mm turbo intake pipe, bigger boost pipes and front mount. I need to retune and will make around 223kw/ 315bhp at least
I've got a 2000 Seat Leon 1.8 20vt4 ( Haldex too ) for 3k€ and I love it !
One of my nemesis cars out on the road in South Africa in the early 2000`s...
I had a 1995 Opel Kadett 200TS and always ended up scrapping with these when I came across one on the streets of Johannesburg...
If you never driven s3 8l you should. Great handling and fast hatch. In my opinion the best hatch from theese years

I fuckin love these cars man. It's a cross between 2 of my favorites, GTI and a B5 A4

Lol. 260hp is the standard after a simple tune. 290 very achievable. Bot reliavle but achievable.
@@fatmallcop363 oem injectors max out at 270 and your fuel pump will also struggle.
@@fatmallcop363 at 290hp conrods need attention they can easily be bent at that power
