I think he thanked me for supporting his music like a month ago. I think he was calling his friends that, maybe like Like Wayne and others. I know he likes rap music, as he was caught reciting lyrics with that word in them. I know there are a lot of racists in country music, but most of the artists who've made it really big, loved Aretha Franklin.
@Tircia star "It's a bit much to say a white person who genuinely support the culture, can't say the words to the rap. So much to unpack in your comment. What reason makes you "know" he likes rap music and supports the culture? Is he donating money to black issues? Is he giving benefit concerts for brown people? Has he spoken publicly giving support to BLM or even the NAACP or any groups for that matter? Has he publicly spoken on current concerns and issues? So how is he "genuinely" supporting the culture? By your reasoning using the slur is some how supporting black culture. I give this challenge to anyone using the word. Use the word with people you respect, your minister, professors, councilors, doctors, nurse. Also use it with those your love most your mother, dad, brothers and sisters those who have been there for you during hard times and helped you though those time, you couldn't have made it without them. @@lineaalba4035 You "unpacked" too quickly. You left some clothes in the suitcase. You misunderstood/miscomprehended the comment or you basically didn't read it in the context it was meant. By "supports the culture", I meant the "rap music culture"...period. I didn't say he was a civil rights activist or teamed up with the NAACP, or did any of the things you rambled off. When I said it's a bit much ....I was referring to the people who get all up in arms when a White person actually sings the lyric that was actually written in the song. You missed the point. It's inferred that if the person who wrote the song wouldn't include the word in it, then there wouldn't be reason to restrict some people from saying the rap. I've never used the word. I don't agree with the use of it in general; but, it's a bit hypocritical (synonymous with "much" in this context) to say that people can't say the lyric you're singing or rap you're rapping word for word, because they're not Black....same thing with using it as a "term of endearment"....if a Black person can walk up to a friend and say "What's up my ni***," then a White person who's the same kind of friend should be able to walk up and say the same thing. if not, then it that says, it shouldn't be said at all; but, rappers are not going to stop putting the word in the lyrics, so they shouldn't get mad when someone who actually supports their music wants to sing the song or rap the rap as it's written. That was my only point when I made the comment that was apparently unpacked too quickly. Look, I'm not trying to excuse anyone if they're really a racist. My comment was that it does matter in what context it was said, even though I don't use the word or condone the use of the word, but the caveat is, if someone is singing a song that has the word in it or a rap that has the word in it, then they should be able to sing the song or rap the rap. Take the word out of the lyrics and there won't be an issue. Again, I don't agree with it being a term of endearment , when Black people use it; but, if they're going to continue using the word in that way, then if they have friends who aren't Black, regardless of their race, they shouldn't spazz out if that friend says what the other friend says. Friend is the operative word. That's not giving anyone a pass per se'. it's just saying, don't be hypocritical.
@Michelle Herring LOL...Michelle. I'm no ones slave dear. This was before all of this happened. Why even bother reaching out to say thanks if you really don't have to or feel genuine about it...if it was really him. Using your way of thinking. Did the slave masters ever apologize for enslaving and genuinely really feel repentant and understand the error of their ways? While it would be understandable if some people could never forgive them and believe that those who participated in it, White and Black, could never live it down. But, we're talking about saying a word and having ignorant views, so there's room to say they know not what they do. If a person learns something about themselves in a situation like this and uses it as a teaching moment and decide to do something differently, then who are we to say....nope you can't change your mind. it's too late. Continue being ignorant. Luckily this isn't about slavery, as i said, it would be a lot harder to "forgive". The thing is.....my comment was qualified with "if"....that's how he meant it. I haven't even heard what he said but, I've read that he was saying goodbye to some guys who dropped him off because he was too drunk to drive. I think the biggest issue is for Morgan Wallen, right now is that he likely needs to go to rehab for a drinking habit or just stop drinking because that's the common factor in all of the trouble he gets into.

If a POC chooses to use that word~it's called normalizing. It means the more a word is used by the people it applies to, the less effect it has.

I think he thanked me for supporting his music like a month ago. I think he was calling his friends that, maybe like Like Wayne and others. If it's a song, I think it's a bit much to say a White person who genuinely supports the culture, can't say the words to the rap. Don't get me wrong.
Use that "cultural" slur to them. Watch their faces change, is it shining with happiness? And how does it make you feel to see their reaction to the slur?
He knows the meaning behind the word. And him being drunk isn’t an excuse. It just shows that he says it regularly. When I’m drunk I don’t say that word, because I don’t say that word when I’m sober. I’m not black but I have enough basic respect for human beings who have had that word used against them for so long.
@@EcoCampMNRental ,what world you livin' in?
@@nolaray1062 I get it. But then let’s say the cancel culture wants to take it a step further...that all country music fans are racist. That crap is my concern.
He has a mullet.
So what’s that got to do with anything
I thought it was Billy Ray Cyrus at first LOL
LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!
They always say the same thing time and time again. He’s just playing the clean up game as always I’m sorry for the language that’s not who I am. That’s exactly who u are!!!! Privilege their again!!!
U sounds like a victim of Cultural Marxism indoctrination of the impressionable youth
He needs to held accountable for his words. Ex. I called my Mother the B-Word when I was in high school. She slapped that word right back in my mouth with the force of Ali, and told me to never call her or any other woman that ever again! It never happened again! I am not saying to slap or hit him, I am saying hold him accountable the same way I was. Consequences are needed for growth.
You know its a simple statement, but so true. "If you can't say something nice, then say nothing at all." This may have cost him his career.
Don’t worry Morgan. No one will say anything about every rap star or actor using the word continuously without even a hint of offense. It only bothers them when somebody else uses it. If it was that offensive all of them would stop saying it
I can't Understand why some people believe that country music is strictly white how many of Black Americans that are living in Southern States so it can't be a just white bass music when you have so many people who live in southern states who was born and raised there my Dad grow up in South Carolina who loved who Willie Nelson, to the Bee Gees, to Mavin Gay, B.B. King and so many others it blows my mind on the delusion belief that at any one race of people just listen to one type of music if some people just realize that everyone wants the same thing to have a good life for their kids and not have to worry about having a enough food, income from their jobs to pay rent/mortgage and everything else you don't have to like Everyone but you have to Respect Everyone no matter their opinions and that's what we have lost the ability to respect each other
Interviewer: How are we gonna get rid of racism
Morgan Freeman: Stop talking about it.
So just ignore racism and it’ll cease to exist....even though it’s what this country was built on and is in our DNA.

NASCAR: First Time?
Its not "cancel culture"... it's receiving consequences to horrid actions.
This is text book "cancel culture". These consequences are not in any way fair to his action.
Country music is a mixture of culture. Don't let anyone tell you different. We been apart of this since the beginning lol 😆
Why is Cecilia Vega doing gma when she is supposed to be in Washington covering the Biden white house?
He is sorry he got caught...
Exactly!
Truly disappointing that he speaks this way/feels it’s normal/acceptable.
I’m hoping educating him will open his mind and heart. There’s definitely no excuse for that language or beliefs.
He’s got such a great voice and I enjoy his music/songs. It would really be a shame to waste such talent, because ignorance stood in the way...
Who cares what he says. People have the right to say or feel any way they want. I am sure you are perfect. Go to a black neighborhood and see how many times a slur is used against you. Grow up.
@@southside1205 - KKK members have rights, but that doesn’t make it acceptable, especially for those they don’t accept and hate. Sure he has that right. We all have the right to say what we want. The issue is broader. Some will never see the big picture and unfortunately it may be pointless to attempt to have dialogue and discuss the broader picture with the close-minded.

@@yankeeladee02 dude you must live a charmed life if someone saying a slur is the most important thing you have to worry about. Him saying that has no impact on anyone just like when someone disparages white people you still survive and eat cheetos playing roblox or what ever nerds do these days.
SMH... I say, against my better judgment as a black, liberal, gen-x-er, suspend everything for six months, then let him come back. The word is nasty (understatement), and I (or any of my family) don't use it even in jest. That said, context is important. I don't get the impression that he's another Paula Dean - lol. He sounds like he was joking around and not meaning it to be racially offensive. If more videos or associates of his surface claiming he's used the slur before, then dump him for good. If not, give him another chance. He's young enough to "possibly" learn from this.
Problem here is if the judging, shunning, censureship continues, people will give up trying to please their judges and turn on them. Then everyone in trouble. Judge not, lest ye be judged. @@davidohler9810 The real problem here is we've finally turned a corner in this country and are no longer accepting unacceptable public behavior. What you say inside your house is one thing. Good for racism? Show those true colors why don’t ya.
@@nolaray1062 Did you read my comment?
@@MrCrazyperson74 yes. You said good to ppl being offended by the word.
It's sad that we as a country, once again want to ignore the racism that has come from certain industries and genres...such as country music being used by hate groups, confederacy sympathizers and such.
lets be fair. If country musicians can't use it then Rappers can't either. True equality is equal for all in all aspects. Freedom of speech and expression should be for all or for none.
Bravo to the companies cutting him off. Damn it man, just NO. No.
They don’t want to loose money.
The old saying still holds true......Racism and Bigotry is taught!
He totally doesn’t look like the type of guy who would use offensive racial slurs. -_-
He did nothing unlawful. How you feel about what someone says, does not matter. I will listen to him and long as he sings
It is an axiom of anthropology that culture is anything with language embedded in it. Forcing people to use or not use words is VERY dangerous territory worthy of George Orwell. It is a voluntary practice. Saying “the N word” rather than the actual word is deeply immature.
Hmmm. I thought with Charlie Pride and Hootie and the Blowfish that racism didn't exist in Country music anymore. 🥴
You’re an adult. You should know better than to use such language at the age of 27!
Right...I was shocked when they said his age, I think he looks at least 39 💀
I'm so disappointed in his behavior. We are all equal. I'm taking his songs off my Playlist. Morgan you have so much talent that is giving you a great life but unfortunately you are not grateful to any of us for it.
Biggest question here is many country singers are /or are not like him inside.
Just because you are offended doesn't mean you are harmed in anyway.
Y'all need to listen to David Allen Coe he's way more entertaining then Morgan 😅
And “a true American American”.
Country will not cancel this dude
You don’t have to be white to like country music! I’m not white and I love country music. We need more love in the world and less hate!
Nobody cares about sounds coming out of people’s mouth. “Educate you on the new ROMAN laws”. C’Mon Man
As a white person, that's easy for you to say.
Why its easier to say something when you are on the other side, let me trow you a bone. WHITE PEOPLE NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND TO HAVE EMPATHY, its in short supply these days I am afraid. That young man is promoting himself in the back of an issue, after its easier for him to come back from that selling more music.
. In Germany nobody would dare to use the Nazi word, why in an America one do? Also, its about the meaning attached to the words. I am surprised you don't know that as you quote Roman laws, I am curious to know the extend the history you have from your own country.
Words matter, to EVERYONE. nobody deserves to be disrespected for something they have ZERO control over. You would be singing a different tune if you were black in America and YOU KNOW IT. You are making us good white people look bad, we don't claim you.
“What else can I say,

This punishment does not fit the crime and as a black woman who has experienced racism and being called derogatory slurs, I’m offended but not surprised.
