The number of Russian casualties is shocking, CNN International’s senior military correspondent, Frederik Pleitgen, noted about his last visit to the front, Bild reported.
“Everywhere is full of dead Russians, body parts, car parts,” he said.
“Nothing is being cleaned,” he said.
Ukraine “suffers, and this, of course, is true,” Pleitgen said.
“But how many of his own people Putin sends to death - I could not even imagine it would be as bad as it is now. This is one reason why Ukrainians still have the fighting spirit, because they understand that they are actually stopping a lot of them.”
Ukrainian soldiers will be able to stand strong even without an aid package from the United States, he told the German magazine.
“They’re going to rely on a new strategy, these little drones,” Pleitgen said.
“The Ukrainians are currently creating a long-range aircraft consisting of drones to attack supply routes.”
The journalist also met the Ukrainian unit of drone operators who attacked Russian positions.
“They could see everything, they were literally looking into the faces of Russian soldiers who knew it was probably going to be over for them soon,” he said.

I'm team Ukraine but that's probably not true. Maybe that number was mistaken for the total losses on both sides both soldiers and civilian casualties. That's cant be true Russia would have no choice but to end the campaign if they lost that many.

This is propaganda: Russian troop units are not being taken out of service (as they would be if suffering high casualties) however Ukraine's were in Avdiivka, and we know the stories of Ukraines recruiting tactics and how they are now putting women in the trenches. According to Russia, they have had around 40,000 killed and wounded, so far in the entire war, while Ukraines losses are 400k+ military killed, not wounded, with some estimates approaching 1 million casualties..
