I got the green one around 10 years ago. I put red DiMarzio Evos on it, and changed the tuners and tremolo. I still use it as my go-to guitar. It supposedly has the same wizard II neck that other RGs have. But mine feels a little more narrow and I've never felt another Wizard II that compares. I don't know if you've compared the way it feels to other RG series guitars. It is still my favorite guitar I own for that reason.
Your an amazing guitarist dude I just bought an Ibanez RG 270 Floyd Rose in black second hand mine's from the 90s I checked by the serial number I bought mine off a professional musician great deal for only £80.00 I didn't know anything about Floyd Rose or the locking nuts on this Ibanez I was trying to tune the guitar it wasn't going in tune in the process I snapped my D string oh well that's part of learning I checked it out now I have more knowledge ! LOL Mark UK
It can be. If you buy one, get a Tremol-no for it as well and make sure you know how to set up a floating trem. Make sure you wind the strings more than once if you don't want them to break immediately. If you choose not to block the trem, buy an extra set of hex wrenches because it might be hard to keep in tune.
Hey dude I bought the Ibanez and I'm so happy with the guitar the floating bridge is damn cool I got it restrung and set up its not going to go out of tune now for sure! At first when I got it home I tried to tune it but my string snapped because I didn't know what I was doing now I understand! 😂 LOL
Glad to hear it! Floating bridges definitely take some getting used to. I recommend watching some videos on how to use them. If you get sick of it or you ever need to switch tunings really quickly, I recommend buying a Tremol-No. It's easy to install and use, and it's relatively cheap. It lets you switch between floating, hardtail, and dive-only bridges by just turning a couple thumbscrews. Have fun with your new guitar!
Ummm I have that guitar and it PLAYS LIKE A DREAM!!!!! At least mine does and he just needs some time at using the locking bridge , a few videos on setting them up and he will be just fine ( which I’m sure by now he’s got it down)
