A treasure...so happy to see a film that I haven't seen before. And Rory ...such a beautiful man, inside and out. Always humble, almost shy, softly spoken, respectful. Such a sorely missed presence. That said, he would probably despair at the music industry these days!
@@lillyk2315 No he was a shy and humble individual (stories of him having a drink with concert goers before the gig and chatting with them after) but a showman in front of an audience. Total respect for him from the audience. Once, when I saw him at the Hammersmith Apollo, London, the power went so he did his acoustic set in complete darkness to a completely silent audience, apart from the applause after each song of course!

This was the first version of anything by mr gallagher that i had ever heard. Had a crazy acid trip to it after having it in my winamp playlist forever and it resulted in 2 months of absolute bliss. Right up until the point "is this great feeling going to last forever?" Was asked inside my dumbass head.
His most comfortable place to play live was always the club circuit. Back in the days of Taste & the early to mid 70's there were (as he said) loads of places to play smaller, more intimate gigs, in and around London in particular. They were great times. Thanks for this upload, I enjoyed it a lot.😉
@@donhanlon7121 If it was 1975, then the only gig he played in East London that year was the Dagenham Village Roundhouse - Saturday April 19th. A great little venue in it's day! 😉 Edit: 1975 was a busy year for him touring America & Australia, Japan, Europe etc & when he did do gigs in the UK, they were mainly the larger venues by then. After the release of Irish Tour '74 his star was in the ascendance! 👍
Thank you for sharing this, BUT what about the band, they are on fire and a big mention to Lou Martin and a great view of Rod De'ath's unusual drumming style, Gerry is as solid as ever
I see that you had a lot of fun in those years in Paris... it couldn't have gone any other way with a talent of such caliber as Rory Gallagher and his band...
The audio track doesn't quite line up with the video but great performance of this song. Million Miles Away is one of my favorite all-time blues songs and Rory is on my list of GOAT guitar players.
When I first saw a video of Rory on tv about 10 years ago, I fell hook, line and sinker. Man, I was bereft, I felt completely crazy falling hopelessly in love with a man who had died years previously. My husband didn't say a word- but I know he was concerned about his sad wife. Years on, my heart still skips a beat when I see him but I got over the wretched grief I felt. Sending you a hug, sis. I know how you feel!
Saw him 3 times. Got every album.Legend!
Still happy with the memories of seeing him live three times.. it makes getting old easier.
I went to the concert at the Palais des Sports in Paris in 1974. One of the best concert of my life.
What a humble genius he was. Loved his original style and skills. Missed by many, and influenced thousands who now play guitar. x
We are left with the memory this amazing man. Now he plays in heaven. RIP Rory.
A beautiful time for him in all his glory and man he is glorious!
I'm sailing like a driftwood,
On a windy bay - just like everyone else
This number is sooooooooooooooooooo deep!
R.I.P. Rory Gallagher ...never forgotten !!+
One of the greatest,what memories,what a bluesplayer
A true artist and brilliant muso. Gone, but never forgotten.
My first shock on guitar. I was fifteen. Rockn'roll was an epic. Our mythology.

Unfortunately never HAVE seen him live..Most of the people say ,he was so shy!A shy man in front of a huge audience....How can it be??????🎄

Speaking to all these comments & as his song says, "They Don't Make Them Like You Anymore" - All love & respect to both the man and performer he was.
ANGEL OF BLUES ROCK. FOREVER. ❤❤❤

Um dos músicos mais geniais que pisou na terra, além disso dizem que era uma pessoa humilde e muito atenciosa com todos a sua volta.

Rory
This is the most Irish thing I have seen on the internet.
Check out some Horslips...
Almost like you are a bird flying over the waves.
Why Keyboard Rory ?
Who do you hate the most? Yourself of course and it is a half hearted hate.
