I have to say that those limb transformations hit the sweet spot between being overly fiddly and pleasantly surprising. The way both hands and feet folded out was nice. The torso deformation and head reveal were serviceable, and the wing separation was a quite stylish touch. I am not entirely sure I love the resulting design, something just seems unimpressive about it, but the process of getting from that very nice jet mode to robot mode is exceptional. If this figure gets noticed by the big 1st and 3rd-party design houses, I think figure engineering in general will be improved by people trying to chase this design philosophy.

Because Hasbro/Takara can't realistically put that much engineering and manufacturing into something that has to be marketed at a much more general audience at a $30/$40 price.
Why did they ever do Starscream like that he looks horrible totally different from they actual transformer series. Looks like a piece of scrap with legs, however the other is very nice looking and clean when it is in jet-mode cant really see any robot parts
It’s actually China’s highly controversial 5th Gen, the J-20. Many argue it just “Chinese sht” and “4th Gen at best” due to the shape and shtty engines, along with less than ideal country of origin. The Russian F-22 equivalent would be the SU-57. More respected than the J-20 but still a big source of critique.
