I'm moving schools this year as well as are many of my teacher colleagues. This past school year was so very hard for us. Some of us suffered being punched, kicked, and insulted by students with very little to no support. Those over us were very disorganized and we didn't know who to follow because they were all telling us something different. Nearly all of our planning periods were taken away from us to have meetings. We might have one day out of the week to plan.....maybe two. Children fought all day, everyday. They would scream, fight, throw things, and insult each other. As teachers, we couldn't make copies. We had to submit a request and hope that we would get our copies back in time for our lessons. One of my colleagues got into trouble for simply having a brain break. Our kids weren't allowed any brain breaks from learning throughout the day outside of their 15 minute recess. Although we are grateful to be getting out, we are so traumatized that we are having a difficult time being excited about our new districts and schools. This past year was our first year to teach at this school and in this district. Some of us are considering seeking counseling for the psychological trauma and exhaustion we endured. I hope you had an amazing year at your new school and have found your happy place to teach.
Love watching this at BTS time! From one teacher to another you are awesome! Curtains would be so cute on those windows! I’ve used shower curtains before since they are cheaper!
Some curtains on the wall with the three windows would do a lot for that area. You don’t have to keep the curtains closed, but it would do a lot. I have curtains up in my classroom.
I cannot stop my self from saying how incredibly beautiful you are Jess maybe the most real beauty in the world. I wish i could know you! Just compliments to you
You don't have a desk for every kid? I get flexible seating (would drive me crazy personally 😜) but everyone I've ever seen do it still had enough desks for all students.
Wow I've literally never seen anyone cover the whole wall in paper. It looks great but wow it's a LOT of work!
You are a champ for putting up all that paper!! I’ve never been in a building where that’s possible.

How do you not only manage a classroom with 35 students let alone give each one the time they need? I can’t even imagine it.

Love your setup!

LOVE this idea!
Also if you have more blue border, put it around the white boards and it will make them pop on your wood wall. 😊
LOOKS SO GOOD!
I love the ship- lap wall so much!!
Its looking amazing!!
Hello. So excited to see your new classroom setup! 😊 Looking to gain some new ideas.
I wish I could do this! Our fire Marshall doesn’t allow us to have more than 60% of our walls covered with paper.
Do you just staple the shiplap paper to the wall? Or am I missing something? Is the wall corkboard material or no?
Good luck at your new school! Have a great year!
I like it 👌
I literally love your videos so much!!
Thank you for considering us viewers in your manner of dress/appropriateness!👍👌
I love your room
I think curtains would look good on the window walls
35 kids?? What! That’s way too many!

What happened to your Nugget? Did you have to leave that at your old school, or did it not work out?
I have cinder block walls. Trying to figure out if I can attach paper like you did - maybe with hot glue?
I've had cinderblock walls and had to use a hot glue.
I am looking at flexible seating in my classroom this year but in the UK they are not keen on it

Is flexible seating allowed because of covid? We still have to wear masks and attempt to have 3 feet distancing.
Same here. We can’t even have rugs.
Where'd you get the wood themed wallpaper?
It's not so important who starts the game but who finishes it. John Wooden

I'm surprised with fire codes that you're allowed to cover that much of your walls!
