I absolutely LOVE LOVE and whole heartedly agree with your philosophy about creating and environment your as the teacher love and want to be in. When you feel comfortable in the space you spend a lot of time in Then it transfer to your students. Awesome job!
    I love your energy

Your room is looking great! I love that you support the idea of parent helpers. I was a “room mom” when my son was in elementary school and helped out several of the teachers and also volunteered in the library. I loved every single moment! I started college thinking I wanted to be a teacher, but quickly realized that I did not have the patience needed for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, 39 weeks a year. I was fine for part-time though. I never looked at it as a way to judge the teacher. It was a way for me to fulfill that need in me, and a way for me to get to know the kids that my son would talk about. That way if he came home and asked to go to so-and-so’s house I would know who he was talking about and if I would be comfortable with that. I learned a lot in those years about how much time and energy (and often, money) teachers spend both in and out of the classroom, and I was glad to be able to help with the “grunt work” and ease a little of the work load for those teachers.
I’m happy for you that you seem to really like your new school and I hope you have a great year!

I haven't finished watching this yet, but I wanted to share an idea. Not sure if they will allow plushies/pillows, but Squishmallows are a stuffed animal that are machine washable and can go into the dryer on low. Costco is the cheapest place for the really big ones, that are like Pillow sized or larger........ Other places carry them too for example Target, Five Below, Kroger, Walmart, etc....... Just a thought. They are very soft and squishy and some different ones have different textures too. Thank you for your videos, they encourage me as I work on my masters leading to initial licensure in Elementary education :)

@@halliebetbeze8931 Honestly I have 3 (including Baby Yoda), then quite a few of the smaller ones. I'm an adult and still like napping with them on the couch or my bed. Squishmallows are just so soft and fun. I actually taught typing as a para and gave some small ones I got from Five Below as a prize and the students loved them (I think I got some students hooked, oops)

I have bought labels for my library, but have kept my books in bins because I love the colours. You may have just convinced me to do the switch! Your library looks great!

LOVE the RBG being a book you go over with your students :) I can tell how much you care about your students and cultivating healthy self images. You're an amazing teacher and I know your students will love you. word of advice (if u want it) - try not to be rigid in maintaining a clean room and enforcing so that you can maintain that personal bond with your students.

I’m watching this so late (well, late for me!) and I’ve had a rough day. I’m laying in my dorm bedroom alone, feeling so overwhelmed. It’s hard to adjust to college, especially when the professors suck. And one of my roommates is in “quarantine”...in the next bedroom over. So, university policy is really not on top of safety at all. My RA is so super sweet and trying to figure that out with her boss. I’m literally tumbling through life right now. But this video is why I’m doing this. I want to get a degree, and I want to teach kids. Thank you 💜

I am sorry that that is happening right now. COVID-19 is tough. Hopefully things will look up and how awesome that you are keeping your eye on the prize....your teaching degree! ❤

Don’t get rid of your other white shelves. Just add a back. You can put a thin strip of wood (make an x).

Your library is so cute I’m a preschool teacher so of course we have a library but the kids don’t understand it that well at that age but your classroom is coming along so beautiful people don’t understand what it is teachers go through the first two weeks before school starts with training and planning and having to set up our rooms by ourselves we spend our own money and time and we just want it to look good and comfortable for the kids I wish back in my day my teachers would’ve put that much effort into my classroom I think I would’ve done a lot better!!!

With the lights, you could try and lay them on the floor to see how they could fit in your classroom. That way you don't need to hang anything up or buy more!

I'm so jealous. Things are almost the same as last year in my district. No sharing. 3 feet apart. Masks. No talking while eating lunch. 10 feet apart outside. No carpet time. No reading groups. No reading buddies. No one allowed in building except for staff and students...so no volunteers. I am devastated
