I work in higher education and we are constantly sending seating, frames, white boards, tvs and literally ANYTHING else you can find to our surplus warehouse and it’s available for professors to take for their rooms or for CHEAP resale to the public!! Like as in a $500 projector for only $50!! Love your classroom design by the way!

You just get these big labels with everyone’s names on them and in the beginning of the day or week when u go in class you have to look for your name on a seat and find it. At least that’s what it was in my 5th grade. My teacher would put a name tag on each seat and that’s where we sat for the rest of the week until it changed again.
As a senior in high school, I wish my classes had seating like this! Have you ever had any problems with kids having anxiety over choosing seats? One of my friends in elementary school used to freak out about where to sit on the carpet, she would be super overwhelmed having to choose where to sit with flexible seating.
I haven't run into that problem yet! However, if a student were feeling anxious about it, they could always have a permanent spot that just belonged to them :) I'm open to whatever is going to be best for my students and make them feel most comfortable.
Every class I had in school if teachers didn't pick seats, we'd always sit in same seat we sat in on our first day. It's crazy how nobody bothered to switch.

I have autism and this is my fav class that I have ever seen, with autism i need to have flexible seating and items to fidget with and a positive environment. You also remind me of my fav teacher and you use some of the same decor as her. Thank you for showing me that you care for your class I really appreciate it.

If you want to do something do it even if people are making fun of you because at the end of the day it’s your life and you should fulfill your soul with positive things you want to do ❤️

Omg this reminds me of my 6th grade class 😊!!! It was my favorite year of school ever! My teacher was the best, cared about the kids and their needs. We got to go outside and run laps if we needed a 5 minute break during math, or work outside if it was too crowded inside, move chairs around, pick your seats (like I had a large rocking chair that was my desk since I liked being more isolated and liked to move around), and omg the best was that she let us eat in class whenever as long as it wasn’t too distracting. She gave out candy like everyday if we were good and so much more. It was the best.

Everyone is saying how much they’d love this, but , honestly, I love standard classroom settings. I suppose it’s partly because those tables are quite small and we just have rectangular tables between two people, so we get more space than with a chair and a pull out desk. Also, in my class, everyone would just be doing forward rolls over the yoga balls and tipping each other off stools and egg chairs. Despite this , it would still be a lovely classroom environment and that teacher really cares about her students.
if you put the trapezoid tables by the reading area with all of books in the bins so then they can read at the table or the camping chairs over their because they won’t be writing. then make a u shape with the chairs by the tv. then you could make a u facing the white board so then put the chairs along the tables. have the beach chairs by the tv for the floor.
My 6 grade reading class had flexible seating and it was nothing like this and we stopped useing them when the second semester started 😕 your class is lucky

my ela teacher had somewhat flexible seating. she had yoga balls, pillows, those spinny chairs, and regular desks. you could pick where you wanted to sit on certain days!
