Many of them have done 400,000-500,000 miles and still going strong. There are still plenty of Nissan engined TX2's in Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham etc.
@@FerrarifanOls95 I know TXII had Ford engines but the lots of the ones i saw in the Cities mentioned had been retrofitted with Nissan engines and made Euro 3.
dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you're bored like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend for the last few days xD
yes, all london taxi's have a 25ft turning radius, essential in the tight narrow streets of london allowing for a taxi to turn around in the same space an old horse drawn Hackney carriage could turn.
No, on Fairway-Driver from 1989 to 1996 (N Registration) the Gearbox is a Nissan/Jatco E4N71B On 1997 (P & R Reg.) the Gearbox is a Nissan/ Jatco RL4RO 1A
@John Hill The Fairway95 is is a little different from the 1989-1990 one. It have the axles from Ford, front disc brakes and different wheels, and other few details. Before the Fairway model it was the FX4, FX4R, FX4S, FX4S-Plus. They have 2.2L BMC engine from 1958 to 1972, 2.5L BMC engine to 1982, 2.25L Rover engine to 1985 and 2.5L Rover engine to 1989. Perkins engines never had been fitted new on FX4 model by Carbodies. Only a few FX4R (1982-1985) were converted with a Perkins 3L engine, the Perkins 4.182 from the 200 series.
Thanks for the ride. I got to ride in a few of these whilst I was visiting the UK with my parents several years ago. :)

@William Dryden Can't argue with that. I've even see 06 plate TX4's retrofitted with the Nissan 2.7 diesel engine as the 2.4 Ford Duratorq is crap.
Good to hear. TX1s have Nissan engines and TXIIs have Ford engines btw.

@@jaggass Oh. Okay.
Doesn't sound like it likes dropping gears much but given the age and mileage no wonder!
