Highway Driving Assist is designed to
do the following while driving on the
    highway:
    - Help detect vehicles ahead
    - Help detect lanes ahead
    - Help maintain distance from the
    vehicle ahead
    - Help maintain set speed
    - Help center the vehicle in the lane
Highway Lane Change Assist (if equipped)
    - Highway Lane Change Assist function
helps change lanes to the direction the
driver slightly moves the turn signal
switch if the function judges that lane
    change is possible.

Got my 2023 palisade calligraphy about a week ago and man we love it so much. It’s so nice and so comfy. Seats are great and the drive is so smooth in my opinion that I don’t even think about trying to go fast. Just love everything so far. haven’t had a chance to really use the driving assist/cruise control but am planing a trip out of state soon so will give it a try but if anyone thinking of getting one I say do it. It’s great all around.

It's a pretty good system. Basic interstate highway driving and soft turns are fine. Harder corners are an issue. The car lets you take over very easily if you aren't comfortable. Even on two lane country roads the system works well, so long as the lines are painted. The car slows itself down very calmly (so long as you are on 3 to 4 car length setting) and resumes easily.

My 2019 Kia Optima has LKA and I refuse to buy anything other than a Kia or Hyundai because it’s soooo convenient
I’ve driven Chevys, Cadillacs, Volkswagens and Fords with lane assist but they all suck compared to the Kia system. No cruise control needed. 12/10 rating from me for sure

Thanks for being the test pilot! Picked up my Calligraphy in mid-December 2022 and due to terrible, full blown blizzard weather for 3 days, I haven't logged many highway miles yet. Looking forward to checking this system out. I really like the Palisade, it's a superior vehicle in so many ways compared to BMW's that I had owned for 20 years. And it's $35K less than a remotely comparable X5. You can't get a 2023 X5 comparably equipped to this Palisade, BMW isn't this technologically advanced yet and all their tech is ala carte - an additional charge. Thanks again!

Nice Demo of the Hyundai Palisade LKAS. I test drove one and liked it also, it kept me pretty well centered in the lane. I also test drove a Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek, that LKAS system was scary IMO. Instead of centered in the lane, it was ping ponging between the lane and I didn't like it. I also test drove a Honda Pilot Touring and LKAS system was excellent on that car as well. I did end up buying the Honda Pilot Touring because we already have an older 2016 Honda Accord and in the 7 years we owned it, had absolutely zero problems with that car, so love Honda's reputation for reliability and resale value. For my preferences I did love the interior of the Palisade, but liked the exterior of the Pilot better, again just IMO, everyone has their own preferences. It was a close matchup to decide between a Palisade and Pilot for me, but had lots of room in the 3rd row, unlike the Pathfinder which was very cramped in the 3rd row. I ruled out the Pathfinder, and even ruled out the Subaru Ascent because it still looked more Mini van like to me and interior was not as spacious.

Can you or anyone comment on the speed governing of this and how it works. From reading it sounds like it wants to force you to stay at the speed limit. I saw on this video you were going 70 mph in a 70 mph zone. What would happen if you set it at 75? Do you have to constantly override the system as it tries to reduce your speed to 70??

    • @wyaldkingdom
      @wyaldkingdom Год назад +1

No. You have two options. If you set it at the exact speed limit for the section of road you are on, it will automatically adjust your speed upward or downward if the speed limit changes. The car can read the speed limit signs as it drives along. On the heads up display you can see the little speed limit sign that it last saw. Your second option is to set it at any other speed of your choosing and it will keep it there. It doesn't matter if it is above or below the speed limit, it will keep it there. The only way to trigger autospeed limit adjustment is by setting the speed to exactly the speed limit. You will hear a chime and then a "auto mph"appears on the display.

I bought a Palisade with FCA (front collision assist) which is now standard on all 2023 Palisades and it does NOT stop for a stopped vehicle in front unless you have the Smart Cruise Control active the moment before the collision. If you don't have it activated via the buttons, then it won't do anything and you will hit the car in the front. Very dumb for 2023.

Transmissions in the 2023 palisade are not very good. They can develop problems very quickly. Honestly when one pays a premium price for a vehicle they expect, and deserve a drivetrain that provides a better, more reliable, less problematic experience, but it seems Hyundai likes to pedal trash transmissions to their customers while charging premium prices. The Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is beautiful inside, and out, but it’s transmission is an embarrassment. For the price I wish I had bought something better. I wish I could replace the transmission with another brand that is known for its reliability. I bought my 2023 palisade calligraphy edition at 113miles and it currently has less than 5000 miles on it, and I’d rather drive my old 97 Camaro instead. I wish I had bought a GMC Denali. 😕
