When I bought my Casino I drove an 100km to get to a store that had both the Coupe and the Worn models. I really wanted to prefer the Coupe. I liked the idea of the smaller body, and better access to high frets (neck joins body at the 17th fret vs 15th fret). But when I played both in the store there were two big detractors - the high gloss stickly neck of the Coupe and a rather pronounced "neck dive" when playing standing up with a strap around my neck. I bought the Worn. I love the satin neck feel and it is well balanced. As far as upper fret access goes - its just not that type of guitar. And while it is interesting to do A/B comparisons of different guitar PU into the same amp, that's not really an issue to me - you can dial in the amp and eq to get the sound you want when you change guitars.
@@mehdicheikh6934 The biggest difference for me was Neck Dive and high gloss back. Both are non-starters for me. The coupe does have better upper fret access. That's all I remember.
I have an Epi Casino worn in Black. Great guitar and nice sound. I play mine through a Quilter amp 50w and for a not too expensive amp the Quilter is great. It has a ton of head room and is very light to carry around. If you haven't checked the Quilter amps out you really should.
I got the Quilter Aviator Cub a few weeks ago and it's easily the best/sweetest sounding amp I have ever played through. No more valve/tube amps for me. 😁
Beautiful opening song. The guitars have surprisingly different sounds and strong points. I guess I would choose the worn as so far, slightly larger guitars seem more comfortable to my body type and seem easier to control. Plus I am mostly a solo act these days; church and picnics and so forth. It would suit my needs and overall likes better. Again thank you for what you do for us and bless you and your family.
I’m trying to decide between the two, I own a es339 which I love but I want a casino to have that full, warm sound. So far I’m very happy with epiphone
Very nice comparison Jack, thank you. I have a worn Casino also and it really is a good guitar. Gets a lot of playtime. In the past few years Epiphone have really upped their QC game and it shows.
Fantastic reviews Jack ! I was also interested in unplugged test and you got it ! It seems the unplugged volume of both is quite similar, right ? Thanks
Thanks for the comparison! I've been looking at the Casino Coupe for a while now and I think your video has me more convinced that it's the one for me. I have an Ibanez Semi-hollow body, similar to a 335 with humbuckers, and not being a professional I have to prioritize. . . I like the Casino as a true hollow body with P-90s and have also wanted something in the smaller 339 size. The access the coupe provides to the upper notes, and the aesthetic (for me) location of the output jack kind of seal the deal in my case.
Great comparison! I love the almost clean tones of both but they can certainly handle fuzz. To my ear the Coupe gets ever so slightly shrill when overdriven. Maybe it’s the size difference or some secret sauce in the PRO P90s but the Worn is more balanced and has a mojo in its resonance that’s hard to define. It’s the sound of big flip book vs a little flip book… I dunno how to describe the casino mojo - but anyway you demonstrated it! Thanks for sharing.
Great video comparison - as always! I'd love to see your take on the new Gibson and Epiphone Noel Gallagher Signature guitar. I've been looking for that earlier model Epiphone Riviera but now with this NG model I'm looking at that as my next addition to the family!
Hi Jack, Great video! I'm keen on getting a casino. I'm torn between the standard version that comes with Dogear P-90Rs (it is also 200 dollars more expensive) and the worn version. Does the extra 200 dollars get me a considerably better instrument (when it comes to finish, sound, playability) or should I just save the 200 bucks and get a worn and spend the money I've saved on setting it up (or some minor upgrades) ? Thanks in advance
I am turning in to a weird horder. 2 years ago I bought the Casino JR. Returned it when it showed up at the door and ordered the worn casino. This may tell if I made the right decision.
Thank you very much for your video ! I thought your Casino Coupe had the Tysone Tone pickups and not its original Epiphone pickups? Could you please confirm that, please?
I cannot say which is the best as I only have the Epiphone Gary Clark Jr. signature blak & blu casino with USA Gibson pickups plenty of mids and great clarity and have never had a problem with this guitar and using a fuzz is great fun
Great comparison - lovely playing! So, what's better than one Casino? 😃Never played the Coupe but sounds great - I'm happy with my current Casino so no rush to grab another one. Thanks for your ongoing thoughtful and musical reviews!
No such thing as too many, but sometimes it makes me feel good to share the "wealth!" LOL especially since I'm not that good. I try. And only 6, William! :)
I was not aware that the Coupe has a smaller body, but I am happy that I like the sound of the Coupe best, because I am picking one up at our train station i a few hours 🙂 The train is just stopping for half a minute, so we have to be effective. The metal cover changes the sound a little, and that can be remedied by changing to a German Silver or at plastic cover, I might try that. I have also looked at Lollar P-90s, but they cost as much as the whole guitar.
Awesome video Jack. I'm deciding between these two models myself. Which would you choose if you couldn't hoard and could only have one? Based on feel, playability, and how much you enjoy playing it overall.
Hey Jack...😁 The Great Eastern FX Co. has a pedal that I immediately thought you would appreciate as well...It's called the Small Speaker Overdrive. And ya don't need a small speaker to enjoy it's groovyful tones😉😎👍 BITCHIN...useable throughout its controls throws. Check it out if when ya get some time if you haven't done so already 😉😎👍 And yes...gotta have worn AND Coupe😁 Henry makes great amps as far as sounds👍...haven't seen the insides of any though...? 😎👍❤🖖
Great job/./ I’m a hoarder too…I have the blue denim and it sounds fantastic…so different then my other 12 million guitars. Sounds great through my 143 amps…ok I’m kidding my wife and kids think I have a problem….it keeps me at home so 30 guitars isn’t really that many right…ah right….ok maybe I should sell off some…but which ones…arghhhh
I called Epiphone and the guy there told me the pickups are exactly the same in all the import Casinos. I assume he knew what he was talking about but who knows.
Why can't other RUclipsrs do reviews as good as yours? Maybe it's not as easy as you make it look lol. Btw: I'd take the "Coup". Just like the tones better. Cheers.

Beautiful review---what I REALLY want though is the Casino Coupe Worn..
Full-size Casino for the win tone-wise. That coupe is cool though, better upper fret access, and discontinued now!

Hello😊 Thanks for you informations. Did you noticed a difference in the necks (width) ? Have a nice day !

Thank you so much for your video comparation, specially for your comments.
Excellent and helpful comparison. Would you consider a comparison of the Casino Worn (U.S. $500 model) vs the regular Casino (U.S. $700 model)?

Cool vid, sounding great. I’ve got the Casino worn and really dig it.
Great video Jack. I have to say the Casino worn sounds better to me, but I play solo so I'm not worried about cutting through.

Have both. Love them both.
i was deciding between the two helped me pick thank you so much!
Nice useful comparison! Thank you!
Great job Jack!
Of all the guitars you play, I love your tone on the Casino (not coupe) the most.
Very nice comparison Jack, thank you. I have a worn Casino also and it really is a good guitar. Gets a lot of playtime. In the past few years Epiphone have really upped their QC game and it shows.
I agree! I think they fixed some issues in the big Gibson changeover 5 or so years ago
Fantastic reviews Jack !

I am looking for a hollow body and found this review really useful
Hey Jack, thanks for the great review. In your opinion which one has the most playable, comfortable neck/fingerboard?
Very Cool Demo/Review/Comparison, Thankyou. Am still torn between these 2 guitars, big fan of both. Cheers
Hi Jack! Thanks a lot. Does the coupe neck dive?

The blue worn looks so luscious.
Which is the best for a songwriter on stage who wants to play alone with an electric guitar instead of an acoustic?

Great, as ever. One request: a Bigsby on a Casino. Does it really change the tone? What about exploring this?
could you give me an idea of how much these guitars weigh?. I have a bad back and am wanting something lighter these seem to be a good fit.
Is the coupe more resistant to feedback due to its smaller size?
Thank you very much for your video ! I thought your Casino Coupe had the Tysone Tone pickups and not its original Epiphone pickups? Could you please confirm that, please?
It did but I switched back to stock for this video
Thank you very much for answering. Btw your playing is awesome!
And your channel is fantastic!

I can't get past that "inset" neck. Strange design. Coupe for me. Tone is easy to fix with the EQ pedals I have.
Great comparison - lovely playing! So, what's better than one Casino? 😃Never played the Coupe but sounds great - I'm happy with my current Casino so no rush to grab another one. Thanks for your ongoing thoughtful and musical reviews!
You always make a casino sing sweetly......I have too many guitars 😆
Just curious...I have a gretch 5420t. How does a casinos tone compared to the gretch??
Gotcha covered! ruclips.net/video/lAgWQ5MYUU8/видео.html

i see the casino worn really flat, is it the archtop less curvy than the original casinos?

They should do the Coupe version in the worn finish too. I hate glossy guitars.
Agree 100%. If they did that, and worked on the balance so the Coupe didn't neck-dive so bad, I would have picked it instead of the Worn.
@@donald-parker Keep on playing brother 👍🏻
I got a little change in my pocket goin jing a ling a ling! Gonna call ya on the telephone baby give you a ring!
