A lot of people think this movie is unrealistic because he wouldn't leave his kids.
Reality is many parents leave their kids to fight in a war with just as much uncertainty on return.

Very true when you think of it like that... Also the rationale to try and save the world and as a result your children is a pretty strong driving factor.

During the water planet scene, you hear a ticking sound every 1.4 seconds. This signified the passing of a day on Earth. One hour = 3600 seconds. Seven years = 2556 days (2257 if you include two leap years). 3600/2556 = 1.4.
Astrophysicist Kip Thorne was a consultant for the film and provided guidance to make Gargantua look realistic. Bear in mind this was before we got an actual image of a black hole, and even then the representation was spot on.

Just discovered this channel and love your guys reactions and I am glad you guys enjoyed one of my personal favorite movies of all time. Near the end when you guys seemed a bit confused, I would love to help explain it a bit if you dont mind as it can be hard to understand for people even after seeing it multiple times. Particularly what happened inside the black hole with the Tesseract.
The depiction of the black hole, Gargantua, up until Cooper's descent, is grounded in scientific theories, particularly those provided by physicist Kip Thorne, who consulted on the film. The accurate visualization of the black hole’s accretion disk and the extreme time dilation near its event horizon are based on our current understanding of general relativity. However, what happens once Cooper crosses the event horizon is entirely speculative, as our physics break down at that point. The entire tesseract sequence is a speculative concept created by the filmmakers to explore the unknown interior of a black hole. In reality, humanity has no direct knowledge of what happens inside a black hole or at its event horizon, where the gravitational pull becomes so intense that not even light can escape.
The tesseract beings in Interstellar are future humans who have evolved beyond the confines of three-dimensional space and linear time. This essentially makes them something else entirely, beyond our understanding. They perceive all moments of time simultaneously and can manipulate gravity across dimensions, but their transcendence comes with limitations. Despite their advanced state, they cannot directly intervene in human affairs because they no longer experience reality in the same way we do.
Their detachment from human existence means they lack the emotional and experiential context to solve humanity’s problems themselves. They understand the mechanics of time, gravity, and dimensions but cannot directly "communicate" with beings constrained by linear time. To ensure humanity’s survival, they create the tesseract-a dimensional construct where time can be navigated like space-and place Cooper within it to act as a bridge between their advanced understanding and humanity's need for connection and meaning.
Cooper is essential because he retains the human qualities the beings no longer possess, especially his emotional bond with Murph. Love is the key in this context because it transcends time and space, functioning as a force that connects individuals across dimensions. In the tesseract, Cooper is able to focus on his love for Murph to pinpoint specific moments in her life and communicate critical information. Without this emotional connection, the data might never have reached her, or she might not have recognized its importance.

So I think the theory is that gravity in a black hole is super strong that it could destroy you to a molecular level (he didn’t). If you survive, you could experience 3 dimensions in a 5 dimensional realm. So time can be seen in a dimension. Which is what he was doing seeing the past in the bookshelf. He communicated the way to experience this to his daughter and that would help future humanity to experience this and allow for travel to different places ensuring humanity

Hey guys, sorry I have been travelling a lot since last week and barely got any free time. I have to catch up to all your videos of last week.
Interstellar is really great science movie. Personally, one of my favorites, I am really into Sci-fi movies and have a hobby of learning Astrophysics so I can explain the concepts too, let me know if you want recommendations for those types of movies.
    Edit-
Hans Zimmer is the composer of all the soundtracks of this movie, and he has created the best soundtracks in existence. Some of his known works are Dark Knight Soundtrack, Pirates of the Carribean Soundtrack (He's a Pirate), Kungfu Panda Soundtrack, Dune Soundtrack, Man of Steel Soundtrack, Dunkirk Soundtrack and many more.
BTW Dunkirk is great movie if you are into War movies that are based on true stories, and there are others that I like personally like 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, 12 Strong, Zero Dark Thirty. These are must watch according to me, I loved them.
