Interstellar is one of those movies that stick with you for a long time. It's also an amost perfect movie. "Now, we're just here to be memories for our kids."
I think what some people miss is Professor Brand and Dr. Mann are the typical Humans and Coop is the idealistic one; the one we all want to be but few actually turn out to be … We are selfish and we lie (even with good intentions) to get people to do what needs to be done, in our eyes. Most of us would have pushed the button to get saved, or chose not to go at all. The HERO in a story is special because most of humanity doesn’t behave that way. We’d all like to believe we would, but when the chips are down (in such a way as in these types of stories), we usually make the wrong choice. A sacrifice cannot be made by those who don’t KNOW they’re losing anything or trading effort or resources for good. “Do not go gentle into that good night; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
This is not just a movie. It's an experience. The combination of Christopher Nolan (director & co-writer) and Hans Zimmer (music composer) creates magic. The actors did a great job too. The CGI/VFX is seamless. The director got help from Nobel Prize winner Dr. Kip Thorne to make it more scientifically accurate. He co-wrote the movie with his brother Jonathan Nolan, who made the Westworld TV series, another great sci-fi show.
An amazing detail is the fact that the black hole in the film was designed before we got "pictures" of them. And honestly they where spot on just from knowing the science of black holes. This is for sure my favorite scifi movie of all time because I love space so much. I don't think people understand how massive our known universe really is and is just mind blowing. Black holes are theorized to be able manipulate space and time. Therefor within the black hole cooper was outside time, being the one who sent the coordinates and the "ghost". I think watching your reaction summarizes one of the greatest quotes i've ever heard: "what is the most valuable resource known to man? Time".
Hey Kali, shout out from the US Marines! The Wave scene, the Mail, the Bookshelf, and meeting her daughter again, every scene in this movie was a masterpiece! I loved your reaction to the wave scene! Christopher Nolan is the god of movie production! I haven't watched Oppenheimer yet but I'm dying to! Now you can say you made a US Marine cry multiple times through a movie! Kekek Keep up the awesome vibes! ❤🤍💙💛
I thought I was going crazy because I know I made this almost exact comment on this video weeks ago. Just realized this is a re-upload and the other original video got taken down. It's always unnecessary I don't get why reactors love spoiling themselves with subtitles before it happens on screen.
I am so endlessly impressed with Nolan's audacity in trying to represent 5th Dimensional concepts on screen. This movie is brilliant on so many levels.
Sci-Fi is my favorite for this reason. Love. Ethics. Time. Deliberation. Sometimes you blink and it’s 10 years. The human experience is a lot to understand and none of us should ever take it for granted.
I had this on my watch later playlist and when I decided to watch it, it just disappeared lol, searching your channel I figured it was taken down. So happy to finally see this reaction, thanks!
So something cool about when I first saw this in theaters: Back then, I was still in college studying Engineering, and in one of the physics classes we had taken around then had us studying Einstein’s theories of relativity, wormholes, black holes and a lot of the stuff that’s in this movie! And a lot of our homework had us trying to figure out speeds, times and distances that it would take, for example, for a parent to return home to be the same age as their child. So it was really cool to see all that in a movie during that time! Amazing reaction as always! With Interstellar’s theater release getting kicked out to December, I’ve been really wanting to watch the whole movie at home again, so it’s perfect timing that your Patreon dropped! Very excited to do the full watch-along tonight or tomorrow
Great reaction. You're not alone. The movie itself was super moving, but I notice that reviewers with children of their own seem particularly affected. "This has messed me up for a while" is a sentiment I've heard a few times!
Just a quick explanation as to the difference between a black hole and a wormhole. If you imagine a funnel and at the end of the narrow part is an object (singularity) that is so dense it's gravity is so powerful it even draws light to it this is a black hole from which there is no escape. Now imagine a hourglass with both ends open so you could pass straight through it. That is your worm hole.
You nailed it! For all of the cool science, Brand's line sums this film up. "Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can't understand it." This film is a spiritual and emotional experience because it's about the love and connections that make us human.
TARS is a real hero in this story. This is perhaps my favorite movie of all time. The music is perfect, too. I listen to the soundtrack frequently. I’ve watched this movie so many times. Great reaction.
Film reaction like these make me wish that the director and actor's get to see, getting this type of reaction from performance must be an incredible feeling.
Amazing reaction and video 10/10 🔥❤ tambien kali linda como siempre me encanta el guion y la historia bien escrita de esta pelicula pero a la vez es triste mas adelante 😥👈 pero Epica
I saw it in theatres and it was about as amazing as you can make a film for the big screen. There’s so much more to this movie I wish you could put in the reaction. Enjoyed this so much!
It's mainly about the preciousness of time but also about the fragility and rareness of habitable planets. We don't have a 'they' helping us with a wormhole to another galaxy. Earth is all we have. I always feel bad for Dr Brand at the end. She is trying to following her father's plan after finding out he lied to her. She would also assume that human life on earth would have ended. Maybe Nolan could have had a shot at the end of Cooper arriving at Edmund's planet and Brand seeing him arrive. Although given Murph had solved the problem of gravity it's not clear to me whether Dr Brand would have even wanted to stay on Edmunds planet if she knew that she could back to earth or space stations that surround earth. Regardless, it's an amazing movie and the music is exceptional. Great reaction.
As a long time lover of scifi this is science-fiction in its purest form. I love Star Wars and Trek, but this is true sci-fi. Such an amazing film. True cinema. Cheers!
This film is iconic and maybe Nolan's best, just every aspect of it is so good and so well made. You absolutely need to watch the rerelease in IMAX though, as getting to see it that way the first time was, like you said, an almost spiritual experience.
2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - you'll find out where everyone else got their inspiration from, even the creators of the Mass Effect. Arrival (2016) Moon 2112 (2009) Gravity (2013)
The only 3 movies I remember making a return to theaters were. The Passion of The Christ. (Some theaters play it every Easter) Grease on its 30 year anniversary. And of course Titanic. The only one to make a return to all theaters even after extending its runtime in theaters by a full FOUR MONTHS. It came into theaters and wouldnt leave for over a YEAR.
I was in email correspondence with the legendary Apollo astronaut Dr.Edgar Mitchell the last years of his life. We shared a mutual interest in a private message group. We talked about his time on the Moon and how it affected him as human being to see the Earth from the surface of the Moon. I'll never forget what he said of that moment as human being "I belonged to generation where We were Americans, the dominant Superpower of the world, and proud Patriotic Americans first and foremost. 'God, Country and Apple pie!' BUT the moment you see this small blue marble of the Earth floating in an infinite void of black (there are no stars in the sky when you're on the moon; it's too bright for that.) you instantly and profoundly become aware. We're not Americans, Chinese, Russians, Germans, Britsor any other. Instead, we're Human Beings one spiece of ONE race inhabiting a speck of dust floating in infinite Space. It is a profound blow to your psyche as powerful as some biblical revolation. .. We astronauts ALL of us have been hit by that moment. Out There. We call it Cosmic Consciousness. "
So glad you watched this movie, *sighs*...what can I say, incredible incredible movie that has never left my mind since I first saw it, the mind bending scenes, the gobsmackingly heart wrenching scenes and the transcendently beautiful scenes...it's a perfect movie if there ever was one, this movie is to people what leaving earth is like to astronauts...perspective shifting. The first time I watched this movie I felt like I was flashbanged, I just walked around aimlessly all confused with a blank dead stare for a bit... Hydrate a bit cause you lost a lot of fluids during this one 😂...great reaction as always, see you in the next one. Oh and no...you will be crying...probably more on rewatches...
Nice reaction. I didn’t know they would release in theaters for the anniversary. You should watch it in the theater. On the big screen with the audio the experience is more amazing.
The premise of love is that of a self-delusion; we have no real world understanding or quantifiable measure to prove it's existence beyond that of what we feel for ourselves; every single person on the planet will feel and justify love in a different manner to everyone else. Another point to factor in to the relativity of the spacetime continuum that we live by is that time itself is a man-made construct based around agriculture and farming, which is why the reference to gravity and love is used so heavily because we have a basic understanding of what they are even though they are both forces that are unquantifiable to express.
Went 2 times in the theater, 6 hours worth. No captions so I didn't get that was Murphy in the documentary thing at the beginning (until the second watch). I went OMG! and then kept silent so as not to spoil for others seeing it for the first time. Made sure to use the restroom both times.
Im a sobbing mess too if it helps lol. The beutiful and tragic passgae of time interwoven through this movie ..a lifetime for murph a couple years for the dad coupled with loss and shattered hopes its complex on levels that seamlessly intertwine. Masterpiece of writing directing performance visual effects and musical score. Perfect
Interstellar, Contact, Arrival, 2001, Silent Running, Moon, Blade Runner... All amazing Sci-Fi movies (I know, I'm missing quite a few others, but I have to let others put thier own suggestions 😊)
My theory on Dr.Mann and why we should cut him some slack What if nothing is random, or by chance, what if everything, all events , actions are predetermined , every outcome has been already decided . Good Morning Kali…I enjoyed your reaction to this movie. You did an amazing job by re uploading this video. Can’t wait to see what movie will you react to next. Keep up the amazing and have a good day and weekend too. 👍💯
You definitely have the best reactions on RUclips. I’d love for you to watch “brothers”. I’ve only seen one other person react to it lol. I’m loving these videos
I had placed this in my watch later and didn't get to it before the original was taken down. Glad to see it back, and I won't make the same mistake, watching right now lol
16:24 American people paid literally billions of dollars to save him from Mars and now he is acting like that... They should have leave him in Normandy.
My best friend from all my life and brother in law, one of the people I love and respect the most, says this is the greatest movie ever made. I never understood why but it's a charaged conversation to have in my place XD. Don't get me wrong, it's a GOOD movie. Even a pretty good movie. But I don't know why, I feel nothing while watching it. It's not only my brother in law, everybody loves it. I think it may be because I am a bit into physics and while my math is not great, the concepts here are very well known, at least for me. It was too predictable, maybe. I don't know. There's nothing wrong with the movie. I just can't feel it. Maybe there's something wrong with me...
Interstellar is one of those movies that's really only available anywhere if you pay for it. It's difficult to get for free and isn't available for free on most streaming sites either. You should probably play space engineers if you haven't, since you like space games. Gotta see the Kali ship designs.
The first Time I watsched it i hatted it. I was to young (15) and didnt anderstood anything. Now its one of my Fav. The Timedimention Theroy is so intresstig. (Time as one dimension. If your Outside its like looking at a Bubbel. or in the Movie looking in a Room to alle Times at the same time)
I never got to see this movie on the big screen. My first time was on the seat of a plane. I cant wait to experience it in IMAX during the 10year anniversary rerelease in December. You should do the same! lol
I can't explain it, but i had an intense feeling of deja vue watching this entire thing. I coulda swore i had already watched Kali react to this about 2 weeks ago. \*edit* Redundancy department here, we will flag your comment for deletion..bzztt..bzztt.. Author: The previous upload was so much better. Knew I should have saved it.
If you really like sci-fi movies try Alien and the movies of it that came after it. And as i said, the best game made close to the movie is Alien Isolation.
Kali gets emotional so easily bless her. Someone give Kali a hug.
It's refreshing to see a woman feel things deeply and almost spiritually.
I WILL!
This is one of the best movies and also a sad one. Of course we're getting emotional. Actors did a fantastic job.
Interstellar is one of those movies that stick with you for a long time. It's also an amost perfect movie. "Now, we're just here to be memories for our kids."

Thanks for your service, leatherneck! I’m a lowly retired ARMY runt myself. Kali is something else, isn’t she? ❤
@@joeybossolo7 If you put a tiara on her and she'd be a Princess!
Love this reaction. Thanks for working so hard to bring it back to us.
I teared up more watching her reaction than I did watching the movie for the first time!
Never knew that they spoiled old Murph with the subtitles, a bit sad.
Yeah. That's part of why subtitles, when you don't need them, are a poor idea.
I thought I was going crazy because I know I made this almost exact comment on this video weeks ago. Just realized this is a re-upload and the other original video got taken down.

@dankefurnichts I didn't. I never will. It's only here 2:07
I am so endlessly impressed with Nolan's audacity in trying to represent 5th Dimensional concepts on screen. This movie is brilliant on so many levels.
It’s one of my favourite films ever. Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack on this movie is some of his best work. It’s definitely my favourite Nolan movie.
That “send off speech” is actually a poem by Welsh poet Dylan Thomas, written for his dying father. Everything about this movie is extra.
Sci-Fi is my favorite for this reason.
Love. Ethics. Time. Deliberation.

I already watched Your first upload ofc, but a like and a comment for this one is a must. YT algo lets go!
One of the finest movies ever made. My all time favourite along with Inception which is equally good but in a different way.
special shoutout for not using the crying McConaughey as the thumbnail like almost everyone else ;)

great reaction Kali, thanks for this one!
There is a video game being made based on time dilation and the spokesman is this actor. The studio making it are developers that made Mass Effect.

Sucks that your first upload got taken down. But thanks for the re-upload, great reaction! And awesome movie :)

Christopher Nolan does it again. This was really special. The Batman trilogy was great.
Perhaps he can do Mass Effect?
