''Because my dad promised me.'' This is probably one of the most emotionally hardest hitting sentences ever said within a movie knowing the context. I've probably seen that specific moment easily 20 times or more and it still breaks me. Also very nice touch with the Mass Effect music at the end.
Honestly same as a dad of a amazing 3 year old girl that has been taken by her mother in our divorce when she was leaving with my daughter I told her I promise I’ll always be here for you and one day I’ll comeback for you cause dada loves you. and whenever I see this part of the movie I cry
Interstellar is one of those movies that stick with you for a long time. It's also an amost perfect movie. "Now, we're just here to be memories for our kids."
I appreciate how you mentioned the"Overview Effect" in the beginning. You're definitely my people. I've seen Interstellar so many times, including in theaters when it was release, and still cry my eyes out every time. I've seen several reactions to the movie and your emotions were on par with mine. You also kept up with everything far better than most people. Excellent.
I like how even when you were emotionally distraught there, you caught on that edmunds planet was habitable. A lot of reactors don't catch that she removes her helmet on the surface of the planet
It's nearly incomprehensible that he didn't with that year's Oscar -- and the only reason I qualify that with "nearly" is because I haven't yet heard the soundtrack that won.
I am so endlessly impressed with Nolan's audacity in trying to represent 5th Dimensional concepts on screen. This movie is brilliant on so many levels.
This is not just a movie. It's an experience. The combination of Christopher Nolan (director & co-writer) and Hans Zimmer (music composer) creates magic. The actors did a great job too. The CGI/VFX is seamless. The director got help from Nobel Prize winner Dr. Kip Thorne to make it more scientifically accurate. He co-wrote the movie with his brother Jonathan Nolan, who made the Westworld TV series, another great sci-fi show.
Kip Thorne also provided the first initial idea and script, although that one got later heavily replaced. That is how he got initially involved with the project. Not just through being a scientist, but actually wanting to make a story with proper science.
It's really important to note that if Coop had NOT fought Brand, none of this would have worked out. The whole reason they were able to get the quantum data and send it to Murphy was because they were left in the position where, to get to the right planet, both Coop and TARS had to go into the black hole in the first place. If they had just gone there to begin with, they would have been able to settle the planet and grow a new human race, but everyone back on earth would have been doomed. It only worked because every single person (including even Dr. Mann) played an indispensable role in the outcome.
As soon as i heard your voice i knew i was gonna love this reaction. I just wanted to give you big hugs on the emotional moments. I'm definitely gonna love your reactions specially to some of my favorite movies, this being one of course. Hope you react to 'The Last Samurai' too, another of my favorites. Thanks for your incredible reaction
I thought I was going crazy because I know I made this almost exact comment on this video weeks ago. Just realized this is a re-upload and the other original video got taken down. It's always unnecessary I don't get why reactors love spoiling themselves with subtitles before it happens on screen.
An amazing detail is the fact that the black hole in the film was designed before we got "pictures" of them. And honestly they where spot on just from knowing the science of black holes. This is for sure my favorite scifi movie of all time because I love space so much. I don't think people understand how massive our known universe really is and is just mind blowing. Black holes are theorized to be able manipulate space and time. Therefor within the black hole cooper was outside time, being the one who sent the coordinates and the "ghost". I think watching your reaction summarizes one of the greatest quotes i've ever heard: "what is the most valuable resource known to man? Time".
I think what some people miss is Professor Brand and Dr. Mann are the typical Humans and Coop is the idealistic one; the one we all want to be but few actually turn out to be … We are selfish and we lie (even with good intentions) to get people to do what needs to be done, in our eyes. Most of us would have pushed the button to get saved, or chose not to go at all. The HERO in a story is special because most of humanity doesn’t behave that way. We’d all like to believe we would, but when the chips are down (in such a way as in these types of stories), we usually make the wrong choice. A sacrifice cannot be made by those who don’t KNOW they’re losing anything or trading effort or resources for good. “Do not go gentle into that good night; Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”
Hey Kali, shout out from the US Marines! The Wave scene, the Mail, the Bookshelf, and meeting her daughter again, every scene in this movie was a masterpiece! I loved your reaction to the wave scene! Christopher Nolan is the god of movie production! I haven't watched Oppenheimer yet but I'm dying to! Now you can say you made a US Marine cry multiple times through a movie! Kekek Keep up the awesome vibes! ❤🤍💙💛
If interstellar doesn't absolutely wreck you emotionally, you didn't understand the movie... The emotional damage it manages to cause is massive, especially if your a dad.
Honestly for real nothing related to this but going through a divorce and losing my daughter but fuck if I could tell you how far I’d go for my daughter especially seeing him watch the adult Murphy on the video log cause I don’t know how long will it be till I can see my daughter cause of how far her mom has moved but I don’t know as a father this movie makes me emotional especially our love for our daughters
@@weepo2651 Be a good man and never give up on trying to reach out to her. As long as you do both, it's really all you can do -- and all you need to do. Best of luck.
Sci-Fi is my favorite for this reason. Love. Ethics. Time. Deliberation. Sometimes you blink and it’s 10 years. The human experience is a lot to understand and none of us should ever take it for granted.
Your post reminded me of this passage from a man who lived 1200+ years ago. Not sci-fi, but human experience related across time: “The present life of man upon earth, O King, seems to me in comparison with that time which is unknown to us like the swift flight of a sparrow through the mead-hall where you sit at supper in winter, with your Ealdormen and thanes, while the fire blazes in the midst and the hall is warmed, but the wintry storms of rain or snow are raging abroad. The sparrow, flying in at one door and immediately out at another, whilst he is within, is safe from the wintry tempest, but after a short space of fair weather, he immediately vanishes out of your sight, passing from winter to winter again. So this life of man appears for a little while, but of what is to follow or what went before we know nothing at all.” ― St. Bede, Ecclesiastical History of the English People
TARS is a real hero in this story. This is perhaps my favorite movie of all time. The music is perfect, too. I listen to the soundtrack frequently. I’ve watched this movie so many times. Great reaction.
We watched this with our 9 year old and I think this was the first movie I saw him cry while watching. I’m happy that he showed empathy for the characters. We’re going to go see it at the imax for the 10 year anniversary. Cheers to this amazing movie!
Film reaction like these make me wish that the director and actor's get to see, getting this type of reaction from performance must be an incredible feeling.
I appreciate Christopher Nolan's homage to Arthur C. Clarke to create the space station near Saturn to be similar to Arthur C. Clark's vessel in his work Rendezvous With Rama.
I had this on my watch later playlist and when I decided to watch it, it just disappeared lol, searching your channel I figured it was taken down. So happy to finally see this reaction, thanks!
This is one of the most scientifically accurate (according to current understanding of black holes, relativity, etc) sci-fi movies ever made. In fact, one of the producers/science consultants is actually a noble prize winning physicist who was involved in the LIGO project that discovered gravitational waves for the first time, several years ago, using them to detect the merger of neutron stars millions of light years away.
I'm so happy to see someone react to this and truly cry without holding it back. It's literally why I watch Interstellar reactions... to see people feeling real human emotions to really sad scenes. It's weird to me that there are reactors who don't cry or try really hard not to cry, but also twice as weird when I see a fake reaction where the thumbnail is of the person crying and the title is something like "THIS WRECKED ME" only to watch their reaction and they don't even shed a single tear... I'm going off tangent here, but anyway I just wanted to say thanks for having a genuine reaction to this and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Don't stop doing what you're doing.
"It's weird to me that there are reactors who don't cry" i mean some people just dont cry that easy to movies everyone is different dude. I myself almost never cries watching movies/tv shows. That being said i did cry during interstellar
what i got from that movie is that even when all things are fucked up , you have to fight your way in life , find a solution, try the positive when there s none.
I think this is as close to a perfect movie as we'll ever get. On the cover it just looks like a cliche sci-fi story but at its core, it's a much deeper story that just focuses on the connection of a father and their child - simply breathtaking
As a long time lover of scifi this is science-fiction in its purest form. I love Star Wars and Trek, but this is true sci-fi. Such an amazing film. True cinema. Cheers!
Great reaction. You're not alone. The movie itself was super moving, but I notice that reviewers with children of their own seem particularly affected. "This has messed me up for a while" is a sentiment I've heard a few times!

So something cool about when I first saw this in theaters: Back then, I was still in college studying Engineering, and in one of the physics classes we had taken around then had us studying Einstein’s theories of relativity, wormholes, black holes and a lot of the stuff that’s in this movie! And a lot of our homework had us trying to figure out speeds, times and distances that it would take, for example, for a parent to return home to be the same age as their child. So it was really cool to see all that in a movie during that time! Amazing reaction as always! With Interstellar’s theater release getting kicked out to December, I’ve been really wanting to watch the whole movie at home again, so it’s perfect timing that your Patreon dropped! Very excited to do the full watch-along tonight or tomorrow
Opening the door and seeing Murph surrounded by family is one of the biggest payoffs in cinema imo. It broke me the first time, it breaks me every single time I watch. The reason for everything they did is standing in that room. Just a white room filled with generations.
Oooo! i was wondering when you were going to react to this! such an amazing movie :D The whole team, actors, producer, director, outdid themselves in this movie.
I saw it in theatres and it was about as amazing as you can make a film for the big screen. There’s so much more to this movie I wish you could put in the reaction. Enjoyed this so much!
Thank you for the re-upload! I already watched the original upload and it was a blast! I can never get tired of watching this masterpiece or reactions to it, and yours was one of the best reaction I've seen (which isn't a surprise to anyone who's following your RPG playthroughs). It never fails to shock me how time goes by at different rate depending on gravity. Seeing poor Romilly suddenly much older only for him to die soon after from the trap set by Mann, it's so tragic. Also can't possibly imagine the feelings of Cooper and Murph seeing each other at the hospital, considering for Cooper it's only been a few days staying awake but for Murph it's been a whole lifetime...
Thank you so much for watching again! It's so sad I needed to cut out more of this reaction.. but hopefully this one will be able to stick around for longer than 10 days lol. That entire hospital scene broke me... Into actual pieces lol. Such an amazing film. I hope I get to see it in theatres this December!
So glad you watched this movie, *sighs*...what can I say, incredible incredible movie that has never left my mind since I first saw it, the mind bending scenes, the gobsmackingly heart wrenching scenes and the transcendently beautiful scenes...it's a perfect movie if there ever was one, this movie is to people what leaving earth is like to astronauts...perspective shifting. The first time I watched this movie I felt like I was flashbanged, I just walked around aimlessly all confused with a blank dead stare for a bit... Hydrate a bit cause you lost a lot of fluids during this one 😂...great reaction as always, see you in the next one. Oh and no...you will be crying...probably more on rewatches...
This film is iconic and maybe Nolan's best, just every aspect of it is so good and so well made. You absolutely need to watch the rerelease in IMAX though, as getting to see it that way the first time was, like you said, an almost spiritual experience.
i watched this after loving the Mass Effect games too and when they said the artificial transportation device they found out in space, i thought "what could go wrong? let's study it and base all our future technology on how it works!" lol
Just a quick explanation as to the difference between a black hole and a wormhole. If you imagine a funnel and at the end of the narrow part is an object (singularity) that is so dense it's gravity is so powerful it even draws light to it this is a black hole from which there is no escape. Now imagine a hourglass with both ends open so you could pass straight through it. That is your worm hole.
Space and the ocean are scary. I think that's where the legends of sirens came from. I went on a cruise once. There's something in the water calling you to jump in and k1ll yourself. It's too big to comprehend.
You nailed it! For all of the cool science, Brand's line sums this film up. "Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space. Maybe we should trust that, even if we can't understand it." This film is a spiritual and emotional experience because it's about the love and connections that make us human.
This movie is fucking 𝗣𝗛𝗘𝗡𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗟, an absolute 𝗠𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗜𝗘𝗖𝗘, my all time favorite movie! Watching it in the theater was mind blowing, pure cinematic magic. Hans Zimmer’s score is a brilliant achievement, adding depth to every moment. Beyond its storytelling, Interstellar made real scientific contributions, with its depiction of black holes leading to new research and published papers; cementing its groundbreaking status. This isn’t just a movie; it’s a cinematographic treasure by Christopher Nolan, the greatest movie director of the last 10-15 years, easily.
I remember when this released there was backlash about the ending. I kinda get it. But to me this is perfect, a cinematic experience. I've never cried so hard watching a movie.
The Martian is a massively recommended film with Matt Damon (acted his A off). Most of the movie is grounded in accurate science and it's just a fun watch. It's pretty amazing that one piece of music can be used so many different ways throughout the movie to convey such a wide range of emotions. Also, Hans Zimmer wrote that piece as 3 minor chords and then he just built off it. Like the base of it is really simple, but it turns into something you can't even describe. "Hans Zimmer - making of INTERSTELLAR Soundtrack" it's 5 mins
Went 2 times in the theater, 6 hours worth. No captions so I didn't get that was Murphy in the documentary thing at the beginning (until the second watch). I went OMG! and then kept silent so as not to spoil for others seeing it for the first time. Made sure to use the restroom both times.
Nice reaction. I didn’t know they would release in theaters for the anniversary. You should watch it in the theater. On the big screen with the audio the experience is more amazing.
It's mainly about the preciousness of time but also about the fragility and rareness of habitable planets. We don't have a 'they' helping us with a wormhole to another galaxy. Earth is all we have. I always feel bad for Dr Brand at the end. She is trying to following her father's plan after finding out he lied to her. She would also assume that human life on earth would have ended. Maybe Nolan could have had a shot at the end of Cooper arriving at Edmund's planet and Brand seeing him arrive. Although given Murph had solved the problem of gravity it's not clear to me whether Dr Brand would have even wanted to stay on Edmunds planet if she knew that she could back to earth or space stations that surround earth. Regardless, it's an amazing movie and the music is exceptional. Great reaction.
There have been an absolute ton of astronauts but only 24 people ever, all a part of the Apollo missions, have ever seen the Earth in its entirety from a distance. All modern astronauts are so close they only see about 3% of the entire surface of the earth.
I believe it was filmed in 60mm IMAX or something like that, but I only saw it in regular IMAX (heh, ONLY) and it was AMAZING. I was so moved with the concepts that I just sat quietly for a few mins after. Not to mention I had to (*ahem*) wipe the tears off my face 'cause of all that dust in the theater, ya know how it is.
Good Morning Kali…I enjoyed your reaction to this movie. You did an amazing job by re uploading this video. Can’t wait to see what movie will you react to next. Keep up the amazing and have a good day and weekend too. 👍💯
Im a sobbing mess too if it helps lol.
THE most genuine reaction to this movie i have ever watched! Such an awesome person you are. 👍 +1 sub
Thank you for the re uploaded
I love the quote "maybe right now shes settling in for the long nap" when it shows she's able to breathe the air of the new planet
Just FYI. This is being re- released in theaters this December! Highly highly recommend to see on the big screen, imax if possible. So amazing.
Great reaction Kali 👍🏻
i watched this after loving the Mass Effect games too and when they said the artificial transportation device they found out in space, i thought "what could go wrong? let's study it and base all our future technology on how it works!" lol
2:47 i'm mind blown at how little other eactors laugh at this part. so i'm very glad you did.
A comment for the algorithm gods!
I'm glad you were able to get this back up.
lol
Space and the ocean are scary. I think that's where the legends of sirens came from. I went on a cruise once. There's something in the water calling you to jump in and k1ll yourself. It's too big to comprehend.
This movie’s soundtrack is probably Hans zimmer’s absolute best work. My favorite piece from it is “cornfield chase”
Thanks for reupload. Awesome movie and great reaction. Greetings from Poland🙂🙂
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's a masterpiece. And Hans Zimmer's score just hits me every single time
This is coming back to IMAX in December. Can’t wait to see it again!
Parabéns pelo React! Me fez chorar junto com você! hahahaha Adorei ver o seu vídeo! Continue assim!
I love this movie very emotional 😭❤️
Daddy love her daughter
Daughter love daddy 😢❤
Daddy love daughter old woman 😢❤😢❤😢
Very very emotional 😭❤️
Sucks that your first upload got taken down. But thanks for the re-upload, great reaction! And awesome movie :)
I can't wait to see this in IMAX with my kids. It's going to be an incredible experience.
You are an impressively enlightened young woman. Your family and friends should be very proud of you, you're an asset to a mixed up world.
One of the finest movies ever made. My all time favourite along with Inception which is equally good but in a different way.
Great reaction. Another sci-fi movie with terrific depth to consider is "Arrival". Also a 10/10 in my opinion. Directed by Denis Villeneuve.
A fantastic film. Christopher Nolan is 🔥
Du bist eine der großartigsten und herzlichsten Menschen auf ganz RUclips💯
"Is this sci-fi or paranormal?"
"yes."
I already watched Your first upload ofc, but a like and a comment for this one is a must. YT algo lets go!
Great movie and great reaction to it as well, mych enjoyed and congrats on the growths of you channel and community.
Great reaction, ive subscribed ❤
You are always so pretty, and love your reactions, fun to see the same emotions I had the first time.
I remember when this released there was backlash about the ending. I kinda get it. But to me this is perfect, a cinematic experience. I've never cried so hard watching a movie.
Probably the greatest sci fi movie ever made.
Possibly the best movie of any genre
Best sci-fi movie here love the music score
the music is soooo great in this one
3:06 .... It's not the music.. It's the Hans Zimmer
Loved your reaction 😊
Made sure to use the restroom both times.
whoever edits this, with mass effect music inserted at the end. I see you
This remains my favorite movie of all time!
"He's the pilot, he should call the shots, no?" -- the great techno-philosophical debate of our time
amazing film for sure seen it over a dozen times haha, love the reaction.
Got to give a Huge shoutout to Hans Zimmer. Soundtrack is Amazing
Best reaction I’ve seen so far. Best movie ever .
The beutiful and tragic passgae of time interwoven through this movie ..a lifetime for murph a couple years for the dad coupled with loss and shattered hopes its complex on levels that seamlessly intertwine. Masterpiece of writing directing performance visual effects and musical score. Perfect
