@@vinlago there has to be a flaw for them to take advantage of, if there wasn't they wouldn't be able to do it. It's really unfortunate and it sucks that they feel more entitled to your money than you do. It's really a sad thing to be in a situation like that. The thing is, if you reach out, you can get help. I've had to reach out to strangers before and they helped me get through things. If you're that bad off you can ask for help, most likely they'll keep helping you anyway.

    • @vinlago
      @vinlago Год назад +10

@@theoriginal7264 the only reason I've survived this long was by reaching out to strangers. Not anything to do with my account being hacked or losing my email but because I lost my disability case (still fighting 10 years on) and had to sell everything or lose my house.
In the midst of selling & auctioning off my life I reached out to the usual entities. This is how it usually went...
Ask family, they suggest you ask government. Ask government, they suggest you ask friends. Ask friends, they suggest you ask church. Ask church, they suggest you ask... family. Round and round it goes. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.
In the end it was strangers who helped me out. They actually reached out to me because they noticed something was off. They asked where I was moving & I had no answer because I was going to live in my car. They offered to let me park on their land and stay in a pickup bed camper. I accepted. They still help me to this day although we've become good friends now.
From my experience this is why many folks won't reach out when they find themselves in the midst of these financial sharks. Either shame or the understanding that more often than not they will be met with a brick wall of "no". Especially with family due to the emotions involved.

Many people have stepped in to try to prevent a crime from happening, and many police officers for some reason tend to go bananas and not really paying attention.
Maybe they were bored or didn't want to be bothered or something and they usually respond with. "You're gonna have to take that up with so and so". 🤷‍♀🤦‍♂

The guy got away and hopped in the car with his accomplice, and the police never even showed up. I disagree. I believe as time progresses and the world naturally becomes more involved with technology, the cyber-scam industry will slowly fade away especially if people start to bring more awareness to this issue.
Remember, the only reason why these scams work in the first place is because they target 65+ yr old victims who lived most of their life in a time where technology and the internet wasn't as prevalent as it is now.

Indian's have written saying local family and friends need to be sent the evidence to be family shamed. What is best way for this to be done as so far every lovely Indian I have spoken with is unwilling to take stand. What happened to Ghandi sentiment?. Standing together. Something needs to happened locally. In addition to each of us raising awareness in our local countries.

If you live there, you can be civic minded as well, and help prevent this cruelty from home.
Young men who suddenly have jobs at these “call centers” should be shamed and ostracized.
I have seen on Scam Baiter channel that many of these young men are lying to their families about where their sudden wealth comes from.
And apparently the police there are being bribed to do nothing.
I wish you understood how the people who rob our vulnerable seniors make your whole country seem corrupt.
I have so many elderly patients who will not talk to anyone on the telephone who has an Indian accent.
That is not fair to the vast majority of people in your country, but it is the reality.
In many people’s minds, India=scammers. Therefore Indians are not to be trusted.
You can help by demanding the police shut the call centers down, and by preventing your boys from becoming scammers. Even being vocal about how wrong it is to scam others could save one life.

    • @warplace7058
      @warplace7058 10 месяцев назад

@@ashcharliepennyziggy I’m sure you can call your local town/city hall and ask about the total number of 911 calls they receive on average. They might even provide that info on their website. A moderately large city gets inundated with calls, a majority of which aren’t emergencies or warrant the attention of emergency responders. Examples of junk calls may include someone calling because some kids are playing loudly outside during daylight hours, the caller’s cat is stuck in a tree, or someone calling from their car complaining that a motorist is speeding. In a given shift, only a fraction of the total number of employed first responders are on active patrol or available for response and it’s the dispatcher’s job to determine the severity of the call and appropriately allocate the necessary personnel and resources. I’m not excusing rude or dismissive behavior but it can be a very stressful job. The police department where I live is so understaffed that a crime like burglary is considered least concern.

      That 911 operator though!
Perhaps the police were not going to be helpful,
keen to arrest Art & Ash for parking violation (on private land?),
they just wanted to see you grab the box, to put the cuffs on.
Luckily, you got these guys on a good day,
they were at least willing to listen.
Art camera view was really high up :)

The dispatch lady almost foiled the whole thing 😮…
There should be a national Code for this sort of thing; so when Trilogy Media or another organization call it in; the police department dispatch can comprehend what’s at stake!
And the best way to do that, is getting this information about Scammers, out in the open.
    You guys rock!❤

Good idea, one problem. Ever heard of being swatted? People could use this code to get the police to go somewhere else where there isn’t an emergency while others need help. (I know I am late)

Not really trilogy media kinda botched the whole thing. They scared the mule off. What she was saying was that they should move away from the house to talk to police so the mule won't be scared away and they can potentially charge him and or find out more about the operation through him. Yea it's good they got her money but the mule is still out there probably getting more money at a different address.

Plus w that amount of $ on the line, things can go south very quickly! The people need to know that PayPal never contacts anyone by email nor by phone; US mail only & they ask you to check their licensed trademark against one shown while also warning to look for misspellings that could indicate someone is foreign. I almost fell for that 8 yrs ago! The email PayPal insignia was almost exact replica, no mistakes in English so I called the number. They read off last 4 digits of my checking account so made me think they were valid. I heard others have a lot of noise in the background so remembered a recent 20/20 showing call centers in India w lots f background noise. I woke my son who immediately took phone & said rude things. I was ashamed my son spoke so rudely, so quickly. Guess what? He was right & had seen a couple RUclips channels so knew immediately they were scamming me.. trying to. What's scary is how long it took me to believe my son was right & I was being so ignorant! I had to pay to change checking account fee, order all new checks, am disabled from arthritis so knowing these guys are doing this, brought tears to my eyes. That could have been me, although I wouldn’t have felt compassionate enough to save their jobs. I’d make them click some more & fix it before changing checking accounts & all passwords. I canceled PayPal forever, too. I don’t have any banks on line or phones. I won’t use cash app, much to kids’ chagrin bc of these vile criminals! Thx to this channel & all others like them!❤❤❤

I hope UPS was alerted not to drop anymore packages at that address.
This is truly a miracle that you guys were there. Thank you for all you do. I wish elderly people could be convinced not to answer calls from numbers they don’t recognize. I never answer calls from random numbers - even if it appears to be from a local business. I figure if it’s important they’ll leave a message. By the way, I myself am “elderly” (if 67 is considered elderly).

have to be so careful these days. I would get calls from the "IRS", "Social Security" saying I owed them money or else I would be arrested. I would get these scam calls so often mostly in the morning that I got an answering machine. Now that I have an answering machine, they always hang up without leaving a message. That's how I weed out the scammers now. The real callers always leave a message.

4/1/23 this day I had a call just as you described from a Kiwi born Indian who spoke very good English with a slight Indian ascent.
He rang to tell me in polite English that there were scammers out there scamming my such in such internet.
What gave him away was my providers were not the ones he spoke of being my providers.
Right off I known him to be fake and promptly hang up.
Latter I was sorry to have done that as I should have lead him on in the hope he might have told me stuff by mistake.
If there is a next time I'll surly string them along.
