Who votes to keep Jesus another year then? ☝
☝🏾
👆
I’d keep Jesus for another year, I feel he can play a role on either wing to allow us to rotate more. His fitness is an issue however he could come back better next season if he gets rest over the summer. Up top though I don’t think he’s the guy.
We should not sell Jesus.
Look jesus can be good option on the bench... next season hopefully we will be competing for all trophies, thats alot of games.. we need a deep squad.. dont sell
The fact havertz is only 6 goals behind jesus whole arsenal career was the most shocking thing I found out after this news came out
Sure?
AYO WHAT!?!?!
@@johnrockyryan check it out
Gabi should be used as second option for Saka until academy players are ready. Havertz as a second option at CF, and if we able to get first option ST against him our front will look much better. But both of their wages are massive for them to be just great second options.
Havertz has shown he’s the guy leading up top. Behind Saka in goals. They need another winger like Saka on the left side but if they do sell Jesus you need to replace him with an upgrade.
@@javierlandaverde4108I don’t think Havertz should be our primary #9. Even to Arteta it’s fairly apparent he doesn’t even see him as a true 9, which is why he’ll both start Havertz in midfield at times as well as frequently move him back post-substitutes. If we bring in a true powerhouse 9, Havertz won’t be just a backup, he’ll be a dynamic player who can start in multiple positions and a chess piece to be moved around. Jesus, however, would be viewed as more of a backup like player, to the next true striker as well as Saka or LW. That allows for the signing of a Gyokeres(or insert your preference) while also keeping Havertz as a primary option in the starting XI. Additionally, none of this should matter as much next year if we perform as we should: if we’re competing on 4 fronts deep into the season, we will need 15-16 starting calibre players. These guys will be starting 30+ matches each. Against teams of lesser quality, go stronger with Havertz in midfield, against late round champions league opponents, go for a more stable solid midfield and you can design the attack to counter the defence. Arteta has proven he can evolve this squad, in season even as shown this year. He will find a way to make the pieces fit and get them all game time…we just MUST stay in ALL competitions!!
@@abovebeyondkct6589excellent analysis. Most fans do not think like this. Well done 👏🏾
I personally believe it takes time to built a team like city. They have so many quality players. But let us not forget football heritage, Guardiola inherited d silva, aguero toure, sterling de bruyne kompany etc. City already won 2 titles before.
Arteta still needs to built a solid 18 . I still believe we need another 3 quality players that can come off the bench. There will be a lot of top quality midfielders in Europe who are seeking that midfield position partey and Jorginho will leave eventually. This can leave space for 2 top cm/ cdm.
I also reckon that Lewis skelly and nwanieri will be part of the team next season. This summer is going to be crazy

You think Mikel isn’t ruthless enough to do this? Think about it, last season:
Zinny messed up, we bring in Timber.
Ramsdale cost us a few points, we bring in Ray.
Gabriel cost us against the Hammers, dropped at the start of the season.
Holding got sent off against Spuds. He’s gone.
Even Saka was taken off penalties at the start of the season following the miss against West Ham.
We haven’t even seen Mikel’s team yet, Timber and Partey have been missing for us to implement the changes he envisioned.
Jesus is too unreliable to base a team/system around.
Personally, I’d love to see Jesus compete with Saka on the right… but what do I know!? lol
Gabriel was dropped due to uncertainty around his future, less so about his mistakes. I can see it happening if an offer comes in, if a fan favourite keeper who seemed destined to be number 1 for the long term future can be dropped like that, no one is safe.
@@Carbide1991I like that!
under wenger we kept and played players who we shouldn't of out of sentiment top clubs don't hold onto sentiment they hold onto results
@@Carbide1991He was also playing Partey at right back, which suggests a tactical shift rather than just sending Gabriel a message.
Kiwior and Tomiyasu were available to play as left centreback if he wanted to keep the same system.
@@dizzlekid It's for sure the best thing to do, as much as I love Ramsdale he had his faults and Raya is certainly an upgrade, I'm not sure if Ramsdale would've stepped up the same way on Sunday like Raya did after his mistake.
@@TwistedSoul2002 He probably saw an opportunity to experiment with a system and took it, he was doing it at the very end of last season too, even when Gabriel was in the squad. I do wonder if we'll see it again when Timber returns.
I really appreciate the no-BS solidity of your content, James. I'm an avid listener of the Fourever Arsenal show too and a dedicated Arsenal supporter in the US since 2002. I hope to cross the ocean one of these days and see a game in person at the Emirates, but in the meantime, keep up the great work!!
He dosent have any real insight though. Supporters trying to be pundits and make money never works.
Super well balanced video, James, thank you!
And yea, for whatever it s worth, I think the same: keep him, do everything you can to help him get over his injury and have him along next season. He can play all across the front 3 also!
COYG
I trust in Arteta / Edu to know what they are doing. The only thing that is "worrying" me a bit is that if some fans get their wishes, it would be a big turnaround with players leaving to players coming in, when what would be needed imho is a bit of stability as well. If Timber wasn't injured in the start last window was four new starters replacing people gone. Should we have every year like 3-4 starters leaving in favour of new starters? Not sure.
Jesus is no longer a starter, but he is one of our two best bench options. He'll start a few games here and there but that is his role now. If he is willing to accept that and not moan then I would love for him to stay. He seems to be the only player in our team that can dribble past 2, 3 players and bring some unpredictability.
100% spot on!
Yeah but the main reason why he left City was due to being a rotational player and not starting big games, now 2 years later he's back in the same position. Will he stay due to his high wages? Probably, but I know he'll be deeply unhappy because he left to be a main guy at another big club.
@@Rainhands22 yeah I know, but he only has himself to blame. I know injuries pushed him down the pecking order but it's still his body. I hope he understands that he can't be unavailable 1/3rd of the season and still hope to be thr main guy.
Bench piece making high wages…… that seems reasonable. Lol
Arsenal getting above themselves. They arent going to get better players in than him. They arent the level of Man City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich etc.
Seeing that top 10 earners list, every one of us is asking the same questions: 1) why is Havertz on £330k pw? And, 2) Odegaard doesn’t even make the top 10? That list is jaw-dropping….
David Blaine is his agent ✋️👁
Not difficult to understand mate. He was on big wages before. Martin wasn't...
Let’s face it, scoring goals is the most difficult thing to do in football and dudes who do that will invariably get more/ much more than who helps them score. Mess/ Ronaldo/ Kane/Halland / Lewa always earned more. So Havertz already coming from high wage from Chelsea if he can keep scoring 15-20 goals each season, then he’ll definitely keep getting more than Ode, Rice, Saka & Martinelli, it’s the hard fact of footballing life! But the good thing is Havertz’s good form will inspire & increase competitions amidst forward 4/5 to score more goals.
Chelsea bumped the market bro where you been last 5 years lol
Kai has a long term contract, it won't grow in the future. These from Odegaard, Saka etc. will 100%
Staaaaaayyyysss!
We need quality like that in AND out of our top 11!
Arsenal fans gotta adjust to the idea that some of their favourite players can be sold. It’s rare that we sell a player who’s doing well at the time for a big sum of money but the depth in quality we have is also rare in relation to our past 15-20 years.
still bummed we never really gave this guy a chance at RW. i don't even know all the reasoning, maybe it was his doing but would have been so great so get saka more rest, and maybe build some momentum for jesus which you could then use as a platform to slot him in at CF occasionally with more confidence on his end. but easy to say from afar, still respect his contributions last season and you can't say he's ever lacked conviction or passion.
I hold similar views regarding using Zinchenko in LCM. It baffles me why he hasn't been tried there yet.
Pretty sure I saw somewhere that Odegaard’s new deal puts him in the Havertz range in terms of weekly wages. Could be wrong but it would make sense. Agreed though that 265k p/w is way too much for a sub. And 200kp/w for a handful of games from Partey also way too much
The usual intelligent & well reasoned discussion made.
I agree on the keep him *unless* the Saudi's come in with a high offer. And in saying keep him, the handshake for that should also be that Arteta's systems use him intelligently - as a pattern disruptor, against opposition formations. (As havertz is doing, currently.)
We still need an assasin who can finish - consistently - because our XG should be off the charts, given the amount we create.
For the work that he does, and his importance to the club, how is our skipper NOT on that list ? Potentially our hardest working player.
For me I would like to see Eddie sold first. But with his injury problem(his knee) & if we could get a decent price for him & there was a replacement already in place then I would listen to offers for him. I could see him again a PSG or a Juve maybe or Bayern
we def need him in the squad, he still got us the penalty recetly and assist in cl and some crucial goals, he does contribute a lot when he does play. so keep him as a winger for a year and see how it goes! he is a better winger than Martinelli no doubt in my mind!
Keep! As much as it’s not his preferred position I think he would be a strong rotational option on the wing as well as up top. Rotational options that we currently don’t have outside of Trossard.
If we sell Jesus, partey and zinchenko in one transfer season without replacing them with much quality, I feel we will fall back the pecking order. They might not have played regularly but I think their influence is there to see. And I know arsenal, they might sell them and not replace them properly
If he looked how he did last season before the injury but got injured still I’d be happy to give him another year. The guy looks physically finished
BIG UP JAMES, Love the growth of your channel. One Love OUT A JAMAICA. Oh yes I agree Gabi Jesus should be kept for atleast 1 MORE season.
If we buy a striker where and when will GJ play?! Come to think of it, even Kai will become a bench player. Can they be okay with that? Because Kai and Gabi are confidence players who need consistency in starting to get productive. Otherwise they will be useless in my opinion.
I think we should keep him for depth get that winger cover for saka and someone who can play in and 8 or a 6 for rotation with partey/rice and then we have depth across either wing and upfront if havertz isn't working we can bring on a jesus for some trickery he showed he still has it in the bayern game he does really need to work on his finshing though it has not been great this season im not sure how much i put on that injury it does seem to have held him back alot but its not like he looks any less confident on the ball
BTW, the investment topic in any player is critical and relevant....bigger £s bigger expectations and output required
If he can stay fit he’s a great option to have off the bench or use in certain games. Offers something a little different and makes us more unpredictable. His fitness is a worry though.
On his day, Jesus is so so good. Sevilla away this season!! We would have to get one hell of a replacement for it to make sense for me. There will come a time when we'll outgrow him....but we're not there yet.
We need to keep the injury situation in mind. And if we are looking at another prolific striker, then Jesus has to be be the one to go. Then again, it would be unfair to let him go and keep Nketiah. We can't just keep Nketiah when he isn't playing. Cash in!
I know a lot of the footballing and financial aspects make sense for this news, but the romantic in me thinks its about letting Jesus explore options this summer. Jesus quit City to join us because we offered him what he wanted - to be a central striker. Now, we know moving forward he won't get most of his playing time there. He would probably be backup to Saka, or alternating with Martinelli or who knows, picking up another kind of role. So, perhaps it puts feelers out there, lets Jesus decide if theres another team that interests him.
We have to manage vibes. It makes no sense to destablize the squad so close to the finish line.
If they can get a good price on him I wouldn't mind. BUT if not he would be a very good sub for the wingers. It'll allow him to not play so much with his injuries and still let him add a different style of play.
I'm not so sure how much the injuries have really affected him. I thought he looked really good against City for example, doing all of the defensive work and getting up and down the wing. I think it's more so a case of he (and Zinchenko) have been pushed out of the starting lineup by more effective players.
I would keep him as a Tomiyasu type versatile forward who can cover all positions if money allows. I don't really know the club's financial position, but I do know there are more than a handful of clubs with a higher wage bill than us.
For the record I'd keep Zinny also. I wouldn't start him, but I think he's a good sub option if we need a goal.
Could be used in a griezman type role considering the work rate
The fact we haven’t had one full season of Jesus at his best is the exact reason we should sell.
No doubt he’s had some great moments for us, but he misses way too many chances and he’s injury prone!
Sign a clinical striker and move Jesus to the wings more like the Alexis role. If Partey leaves replace him, Zinny should be moved to midfield. Sell Eddie, ESR, Nelson, Ramsdale(if he wish to leave and buy a back up). Promote some fresh faces from the academy.
We desperately need more pace up front. Martinelli is the only guy with blistering pace, but I believe he lacks ball control in tight spaces and his decision-making and vision still needs a lot of work. Would love to see Isak start on the left with a new striker that posseses pace/power and Saka on the right. I also think we lack a good dribbler and passer at CM, a destroyer with technical ability at CDM and as much as I like White, I really think we lack a good right winger with pace that can cross. We've got terrible crossers in the team. Saka cant cross with his right, Martinelli can't cross with his left foot, White is not as technically gifted as pure right backs in crossing, and Tomiyasi isn't a great passer in general tbh. Only Zinchenko and Soares can deliver a decent cross, but they don't play much. With all the height in our team, we can actually score more goals if we had another two players that can deliver deadly balls into the box
Yeah Keep Jesus even with a new Striker coming in as he could be used as a all round attacking sub or rotational player knowing his versatility as a number nine or winger but probably mainly winger
I think I'd keep him, he's such a grafter (when fit). That wage/output is a reason to pass him on though. Tough one to call.
I don't know, he's left me wanting more and I was expecting so much more from Jesus
in general.
I also would not have guessed he played and started as many games as he has.
I dunno, will he ever be the player that we need going forward?
I basically agree with everything you said in that video James. I think Jesus is a fantastic player, who can play everywhere across the front 3, but he has a few problems:
- high wage
- underperforms XG every seaon
- worrying knee problem / availability
- doubts he could get back to his best
But when we bought him it was a steal. For me, I would listen to bids around 55-60 million £, but not for less then that. Everyone has a price. Without injury problems and underperforming his XG every season he would be worth 100 million £.
Didn't realise his wages were that high. That might make it a bit harder to get a decent some of money in for him we might end up having to take a lost of him so the team buying him can pay him the wage they'll need to offer him to get him to move
I don’t mind him staying (I’d like to see him given a chance on the wing) but I don’t want to see him play striker again. Positionally he just doesn’t work up top for us, his constantly wandering off to get a touch of the ball rather than holding his position providing a goal threat.
We dont need a ST who claim goal scoring is not his best attributes. He is a disgrace for Brazilian no 9 lineage. A flop from day 1. Selllllllll.
Well... it's a tricky situation. Yes we can listen to offers IF they arrive, but Gabi won't leave because other teams won't be able to afford his wages. So then again, it will be a case of keeping him for another season, and then another Aubameyang case after that. Would he take a pay cut to go to another team will be entirely up to him
Last season , The Brilliance of Saka , Martineli, Odegaard and even Saka contributions on Goals and Assist did not allow us worry about Jesus.
£265k per week and he scores 8-goals all season🤦♂️
How in Gods name is this kind of striker supposed to fire us into winning Caraboa cup let alone Epl or let alone Champions league 🤷♂️
It’s a bad investment if he stays one more season … We need to Offload him to make room for players like Joshua Zirkey who is just 22-yrs old , he will so develop under Mikel and we will have him available virtually all season … A realistic reliable striker Addition.
Nketia should also be sold For Rashford or Isaak … I think either players will fit in well @Arsenal.
Nketia and Jesus should be gone with Speed.
Replaced with Dutch Joshua- Zirkey & Rashford/Isaak.
D fact Mikel shows interest in Rashford makes sense
If Mike wants Rashford… Mikel should get Rashford and Joshua Zirkey from Bologna.
Rashford😂😂😂😂😂😂 jokes
Last season he got 0.69 g/a per 90 ……………. What are you talking about
Offload nketiah, jesus, reiss, lokonga, zinchenko, tierney, tavares, vieira, marquinhos, ramsdale. It's not only about tactical, their wages are burden to the club and their contribution are minimum. And about partey,if we don't find the right replacement better keep him. Also we need space for nwaneri,lewis-skelly,patino,biereth and maybe obi-martin next season.
It's a good thing you're not the manager.. So we offload all these players up to 10 in total, and bring in 10 players? How much will that cost or is it Bring in inexperienced youth to fight City where we are already a young squad
What would you do with Biereth? He's not at Arsenal level
@@DanielOluwasanya of course sign top striker, winger, defender and number 10, Academy players for rotation in FA and carabao cup.
@@surabaya5927 biereth basic technique still better than eddie.
@@muhammadhanif4113 that means nothing. Better than Eddie is still not good enough.
We’re moving past him . I think next season we will see the same situation as Eddie this season . He’s useful but he’s just not available enough . Get a top class winger in and a young striker , and gabi will find it difficult to get in the team
Get rid of Nketieh and Nelson before Jesus. J can play across the whole front line, is better than both of them and puts in more of a shift
If we want to buy a player like Gyokeres, Jesus has to be sold because Havertz has made redundant a lot of what Gabriel Jesus does and there isn’t space for all three of them. It might be possible with shifting Jesus out wide but out wide what we really need is a pacy explosive player who can take some of Saka’s minutes, ideally some on the left also, and I’m not convinced Jesus is the player who would do that, and/or happily do that, based on how he came from City to Arsenal in the first place.
We need to use Jesus as a rotational option as a winger/wide forward. He’s played on the Right before, not sure why Arteta hasn’t considered him there as another option to relieve Saka of playing so many minutes. I get the wages but because of his versatility, we should keep him.
I don’t think we sell for the reasons you highlight such as being tough to adequately replace but also because who is going to want to buy him after his injuries while he needs another surgery and he’s on huge wages
ppl forget his goals in cl before injury. Would be great to have jesus and havertz compete for the role but teta clearly has a favorite (not arguing against, just stating a fact). For me jesus is a better player but havertz is obviously more physical and in pl that counts. Jesus can play on the left but not sure if teta wants him there. Given what I ve seen this season, I don't think jesus will get a fair shot at the position vs havertz. If a second 8 arrived, I do think jesus will be better as he ll get more supply. Obviously if jesus and nketiah go then there will be space for another striker
Sell perennially low output per minutes played....why Citeh got rid....add into the mix injury record....only caveat to that he is happy to be Carabo Cup, 3rd tier rotation player if he's fit.
James mate can you cover Frankie de jong? Idk if we’re even linked but would he fit like a glove like many of us think
I believe either Jesus or Zintsjenko will be sold next year along with several non-starters (substitutes). ESR and Nketiah being front runners.
After that knee injury, he is not the same player . its a bit sad but team cant carry injury prone players
Bro we get 50-80m at least for him now. If the next season is again much happening with his injury and being on the bench we will sell him for 20m at the end. We need to do some business. Maybe it's the step to cash in for Zinchenko, Jesus and Ramsdale. Don't forget we're almost 200m behind the FFP
I want to move Jesus out to the Left. He has tremendous individual capabilities and if he can finally get through his injury issues he would be incredible if allowed play freely while isolated out wide or even to link with Havertz up top, Rice/Partey from the midfield, and Timber behind him.
Even when we bought Jesus I don’t think anyone thought he was the main man where’s the narrative come from if he goes he goes but he’s a great squad player tbh
It feels like within 1 season of these City Rejects playing, people discover why Pep pushed them out lol. First Zinchenko, now Jesus. Both now deemed not good enough when last season they were undroppable.
Cole palmer doing good with his first season but I won't be surprised if he drops off next season. Sterling been more or less a mess too
Sane is doing alright
He sold Cole Palmer and Leroy Sane. He sells players if they want to leave. He's always been consistent on that he won't keep players that want to leave Man City.
Whilst i agree we can improve on them now, they were exactly the signings we needed to propel us back in the champions league and challenging for the league again. The partnership of zinny and xhaka got the best out of martinelli last season, hopefully timber and a new cm can get him firing again next season.
No it's not that, it's that we moved on tactically from last season.
The reason for selling cole palmer, is however diffferent though. He wanted game time, realized he wouldn't get sufficient amount at city, thus he requested to go to chelsea. Sensible choice considering his output (not just in terms of g/a, but his impact in the game) in that dead club.
i did know about Jesus wages, which is why when 'arsenals accountant' 👀kept bringing up a certain other players wages... it was kinda ironic.. lol. Regardless i think what Jesus brought to the club esp mentality wise was priceless whether he goes or stay it was needed, esp the mentality shift to be where we are now.
Zinny has brang us as far as he can time to upgrade keep partey another season viera doesnt play arteta doesnt trust him no matter whag we as fans think of him time to move on
I thought that was a very balanced analysis.
Anyhow Arsenal sell Jesus we are officallay a different club! absolutely ruthless and I have to say at the top end of sport I absolutely love it!
Jesus and Zinchenko have been very disappointing. We brought Jesus to score, he is everywhere around the field apart from in the box..he doesn't score......Zinchenko, plays everywhere else on the pitch, apart from defending his left back position..
Incredible players but they are too comfortable. Jesus even said he doesn't care if he is not scoring...
I would keep as a squad rotation player there is other players we need to sell
Just sell Nketiah and get one of these guys..Gyokeres, isak, osimhen, Zirkzhee etc
Get a quality winger who is comfortable playing from both sides..Someone like simons, Williams, olise etc and then Use Jesus as a rotation for the wing as well..either left or right
Since jorgino is staying, I feel like Partey will leave. But if they both stay, I see Arsenal not going in for a top level DM..that is Arsenal for you..
Get another strong CB like Guehi, diomande etc and get a good LB who is comfortable bursting forward.. Take a clue from Robertson to have an idea of what I mean
I would keep Gabriel Jesus to play as a backup winger for Saka. He should be played solely in that position and I think he could thrive. He has pace and can dribble past defenders and provide assists.
We need to move Jesus to right!as back up rotation option for saka we need quality back up and when at city this was his best position. Sell Eddie Nelson buy a top top striker or use trossard/Jesus as back up striker to kai buy top top wide forward who can play both wings.Mbappe 😂
He must 33% off the season. That’s absolutely huge just not relative to some of our other players.
Jesus is hard working but lacks composure in front of goal. Almost a Lacazette sort of player. He obviously wants to play and as he’s not a nailed on starter, probably makes sense.
Fans can be fickle sometimes. Jesus has had injuries this season. How quickly it is to forget how Jesus was so good for the team last season. He is not the most lethal finisher but he brings others in the game and is very good at breaking teams that form a low block against us.
Jesus is not someone you can keep as a squad player as much as fans would like to. You either start him every game or he needs to be sold.
Why? He was a squad player at Man City and that's the level we are trying to achieve. He is no better than a squad player at striker for a team competing at the highest levels. Wouldn't mind seeing him on the wing competing with Martinelli and Saka.
@@justinbellowyeah that’s why he came to Arsenal because he was a quad player and wasn’t gonna get minutes
Lmao pep laughing in his mansion
He wasn’t he had the same injury problem that slowed him down … this guy is a beast jus had a lot of massive injuries
Nketiah, Vieira, Ramsdale, Tavares, Nelson, Cedric, Elneny, Tierney & Lokonga should all be sold waaay before Jesus - as long as he doesn’t go to Copa America & has surgery on his knee in the summer he should definitely stay.
I think the key thing is, if an offer comes in.
I agree with most points here but comparing Jesus’ and Zinny’s injury records to Partey is a bit hyperbolic. Partey has been at the club for 4 years and consistently has been injured when we needed him most throughout that 4 years. Jesus and Zinny have been at the club for less than 2 years and although it hasn’t been great they deserve a bit more patience in that area.
Kai Havertz is not on £330,000 per week.
He signed a 5-year contract with Arsenal F.C. in 2023, with an average annual salary of $14,560,000.
This translates to approximately £11,000,000 per year, or about £211,538 per week, considering the current exchange rate.
Gabriel Jesus, who moved from Manchester City to Arsenal, signed a contract that is reported to be worth around £190,000 per week
I think most people are assuming the wages are in £ ,but they are usually quoted in either Euro's or UAD and this means everything get inflated in the minds of everyone. Bad journalism does not help either.
Another myth going around is that Arteta has spend over £700M. He has in fact spent £580M
Imo, if we sign isak or a striker of his quality, we should sell jesus. I'm inclined towards isak because he's lethal in front of the goal (and that he gives me henry vibes). Havertz already has closed in on jesus's overall output in just 9 months, and with jesus's injury problems and availability, I don't see jesus maintaining/improving his output.
However, the main reason I want jesus sold this summer is because he's very poor in front of the goal (obviously) and lacks the pace to be a winger. He still has his techincal qualities, but that's simply not enough for someone who's on 250k+ a week.
Havertz (who is also on enormous wages) can provide enough depth in no. 9 role provided we sign a quality forward.
Obviously we should also sell eddie and esr.
Instead of jesus we should be thinking of offloading martinelli first. Both should be given another season with full pre season and hopefully stay fit for the most of the season. But yea right now martinellis stock is below jesus
You failed to mention those on loan, Thierry, Lokonga, etc
Yeah, no way I'd sell Jesus this summer unless it was to fund something ludicrous like Mbappe coming in, which isn't happening. I would part with Partey, ESR, Elneny, Cedric, Nketiah etc though to bring in a brilliant 6 or 8 like De Jong or Zubamendi. If Nketiah goes I'd also like a top talent to be coming in like Sesko.
Hand on heart, I’ve never understood the Jesus love in.
Jesus is giving me Lacazette vibes.
Brought in to get us goals, ended up being great at hold up, shows glimpses of brilliance on the ball but no end product when it comes to scoring goals!
His first season, he wasn’t scoring goals but what he did off the ball, feeding our wingers, ruthlessly and tirelessly working in defence…he could have not scored a goal all year and we’d still call him immensely valuable. But now he still isn’t scoring goals but also not doing any of the other things we loved from the first season.
0.69 g/a per 90 last season, is pretty good ….
It’s literally just injuries
@@JoshuaGuevara7 it isn’t an awful return but for a striker at the top of the premier league with a club with possibly the most chances created in the league… it’s not a good enough.
Works very hard off the ball, great dribbler and very strong for a smaller forward at holding the ball up. This is why I am making the comparisons to the Lacazette situation as he also evolved into this type of player.
Now I understand why pep got rid of zinchenko and jesus, they are only good as bench players due to their versatility but not starters,if jesus accepts going back to the right wing as saka backup then he stays but if he demands to start then sell him .
Must be a $$ issue. We should keep 2 strikers. Especially when both can start at multiple positions.
If Arteta and Edu sell jesus and keep Nkieta I'd sack them both
Jesus can stay fit for a full season. We need to move on faster from players who can’t stay fit. Problem is that he’s having another surgery in the summer which will probably be a problem for any sale to happen.
Keep him. Brilliant winger. Backup for Martinelli and Saka.
if we sell him we need someone like Isak then! But now I know thanks to James that our players are too overpaid!
I've been thinking the same thing, regarding Jesus's wages. Give him another season and he's over halfway through his contract. Better to sell if a decent offer comes in.
Love you James
Get Saliba & Gabriel a backup
Sell fringe players
Break the bank on Musiala or Wirtz at LCM
Injury prone partey becomes an elite rotation option... it could all be so simple
Wouldn’t sell Jesus despite his injuries. He would make for useful cover to give saka a rest and play on the right wing. Can play anywhere on the front line. Another year like the last 2 though and yeah you have to say he is never fit enough
50/50. Comfortable with both decisions
James, I thought you knew about our manager well enough. I dont see why Arteta not selling Jesus. We are so close now to City's level. Being ruthless is necessary.
Sell 10 players: reiss, cedric, nketiah, patino, ramsdale (if he can up his ball playing game I'd love that he's an excellent shot stopper), elneny, tavares, lokonga, marquinhos, tierney
Buy 5 players: goal scoring no9, prolific left footed RW, a young 8 and 6 hybrid midfielder, LB, right sided CB.
A 29 man squad.
Attackers: martinelli, jesus, saka, trossard, havertz, another RW, a goal scoring ST
Midfielders: odegaard, viera, smithrowe, zinny, rice, partey, jorginho, another 8 and 6 hybrid.
Defenders: timber, saliba, gabriel, kiwior, white, tomiyasu, another LB, another rightsided CB.
Keepers: Raya, onkwonkwo.
Reserves: nwaneri, skelly, duberry, hein.
I would love that we keep Jesus. He is still a player for the big occasions.
We need Gyokeres, Nico Williams and CM
Jesus came to Arsenal to be a starter his best a 2nd choice if we buy a striker he comes 3rd. Can be a good squad player but if you buy a back up for saka.. He goes down the pecking order.. He should move on for his own good
Arteta will never sell jesus he will be part of our history these years. He grows 10 years still
Jesus is way better than haverts..Saka ,martinelli the problem when he came to city he had that same injury and it slowed him down ..but if this guy is to be at his best he would be in the top 3 striker/winger in the premier league.. very technical smart and also score goals haverts dream of
