Punjabi Lane in Shillong is a colony of people of Punjabi origin. They have been living here for centuries. The Punjabis were brought to Shillong by the Britishers. Centuries ago they settled here but today the situation is opposite to them. The local Khasi people have a discriminatory attitude towards them. It is not only with Sikhs, but every non-tribal community suffers the same pain here. We visited Punjabi Lane in Shillong and tried to know the truth here
