Jacob pitch shifts his voice in logic. His lowest natural note is around a D2, the A1 you hear is a result of his editing. Sounds cool, but not his raw voice.

@@GeorgeCollier WHERE IS IT
welp its finally here 2 years later
I’ve been listening to this on repeat for over 10 minutes now, and it never ceases to amaze me
I loved the third harmony but I feel the fourth one slipped into his standard style, which I totally enjoy, but I feel for this melody it changed the meaning enough that I didn’t enjoy it. Love Jacob, brilliant man, but the fourth harmony detracted from the whole in my opinion
Feel the same way. I also think the super low part on the third voice adds a layer of goofiness that they honestly could've done without.
@@toprak3479 its not really goofiness, its just bass
In my opinion, starting as early as Voice 3 stepped in it started detracting from the original song. Voice 1 and Voice 2 already had a completed harmony that didn't need another.
I love it, but for a different reason than I like the original. The original is pining and lonesome and eerie and ethereal. The harmonies make it a lot more upbeat sounding, and they have that signature 'What key is this even in?" Jacob Collier vibe.
Just my opinion ofc, but I think it's a lot more refreshing than if the harmonies had been as predictable as you're implying..
The control that they have over their voice though, that's so cool
The way they all hit that "know" note is so good ❤️
Peter Collins with that “how” ughhh so good
That addition was so tasteful
The second line really sounds like a baroque fugue. I love it
can someone make a playlist for every one of these tiktok duets where people make songs/harmonies, i love these vids!
Obviously music is subjective, but it is genuinely astonishing me how heavily people commenting seem to dislike the 3rd and 4th additions.
I don't think it's that they dislike them so much as it's that those harmonies overpower the melody just in sheer volume. There's too much going on and you lose a lot. It would probably sound dope with a proper mix
@@actualturtle2421 💯
One day people will learn that less can be more. Maybe not today - maybe not tomorrow - but one day.
@@actualturtle2421bh i like harmonies that overpower the melody enough for it to sound like it's the original melody

THESE ARE MY FAVORITE AAAA
i always come back to this.
The addition of the 1st guy was so good, but the 2rd and 3rd were not needed and makes it sound cluttered, it's overharmonization. The 1st guy was good in the fact that he blended so well into the girl's voice that it boosted the general feeling of the song and even added some needed spice into the song, sweet and subtle. The 2nd and 3rd guys can be heard too clearly and negate the 1st guy when the girl's voice is battling 2 other voices. Not to mention that you can't even hear the 1st guy's voice when the 3rd guy comes in and that the 2nd and 3rd guy are putting too much emphasis on "know" which just makes the girl hard to hear.
I actually went searching through the comments for someone else who felt this way. I love Jacob, but I don't think his addition made it better
@@Alexander_jade Didn't even know Jacob made an appearance in this lol. But yeah, Jacob also has a huge overharmonization problem.
2nd harmony sounded really elegant and calm. that high note jacob did wasn't needed, it was a bit too much

I've been replaying for 5 times now i dont think i can stop this is just amazing.
UH tried doing this run for 5 minutes straight without getting that Peter sings upwards when he breaks into harmony cause their voices are so alike but now when i figured it out it was satisfying af to sing along to. Tried doing it by ear cause it feels like cheating looking at the transcription.
Feel like the 4th guy coulda done a different note for the “how”

I Got “Here Comes The Boy” Vibes From This. 👍🏼
The 4th harmony was good until the “how”. The “how” seemed to clashed together. Either way very beautiful voices of these people!
It was a substitution for a major third, giving the listener a little sneak peek of major, before the unison minor verse at the end. Those kinds of modulations don’t sit well with everyone because of how jarring it can be, but I think it’s pretty neat!
nooooo it's a really nice chord, you just need the ear for it
I actually like a lot that C natural there to make the listener perceive the major chord, I’m very into classical music so I’m not really wont to this kind of armonization but I find it intresting and spicy
@@kalebcruz4210 I get what he was going for, but imo it really detracted from the spirit of the line. It came off as way too upbeat in a piece that's forlorn and lonesome. I love Jacob's stuff, but this one just didn't quite land for me. It's a super cool technique for sure, it was just misused here.
