A monastery, which we guess is Cistercian, somewhere in the world, out of time. The serenity, imbued with spirituality, is disturbed only by the gentle hissing of a water tank located in the interior courtyard of the building and by the piercing whistling of swifts which seem to echo the silence of the place.
A monk, near the basin, notices the presence of a hopping fish. Obsessed by this discovery which completely disrupts his retreat, he tries to catch the animal using all sorts of schemes. An unspeakable complicity is born between these two beings, expands and, little by little, the story becomes more symbolic.
