I do own a Nacra 17 mkII (foiling version) here in Auckland (sail Number NZL 22) and it is a TON of a boat!!!
Small pocket rocket, very technical and quite vicious boat.
Helmet mandatory, broozes and injuries are part of the package

Small sailboats like optimists
get a Hobie used, learn to sail, upgrade it to a hobie 16 once you've mastered it. learn to fly the hobie 16, get a team member, enter races....
It's popular around wealthy areas usually. But yes start small
