- This is my unboxing video and first impressions of the brand new Alcatel Go Flip 3 flip phone for T-Mobile. The Go Flip 3 is a super fancy flip phone with Google Assistant, RUclips, and Google Maps. The Alcatel Go Flip 3 isn't your ordinary flip phone. It gives you the simplicity of design and long battery life and call time that flip phones are known for, but it's also inexpensive and incorporates smart features in it, offering an enhancement that flip phones don't normally have. It even has an expandable storage slot for up to 32GB of storage, and a built-in 2MP camera, all for $99. This model is only compatible with T-Mobile.

My father has one of these, he can’t figure out how to add airtime through the phone with out having to go out and buy a service card.
I got an Alcatel from Smart Phone which is inaudible. I don’t know if this is a more advanced model.
To clarify: I meant to say that I don’t know if the Alcatel shown here is more advanced than the Alcatel Jitterbug sold by Great Call
I like the idea of the flip, as I don't use my phone except for calls, texts, and maps( having to get around the city to certain houses, for work ). I just wish they'd put better cameras on them. Seems that with technology as it is, that wouldn't be much of a problem.
Maybe someone will make a phone like that some day

I'm not saying everyone should run out and buy them. I just meant I don't see why they couldn't be bothered to throw a pair on because they're so cheap and you can get some for a $1.
A 2mp camera is virtually useless nowadays. Not sure why they even bothered to put it in there. I’d consider getting a smart flip phone if they’d just put a decent camera in there.
My mom uses this phone. Recently it was damaged and we bought a replacement off amazon. However it keeps saying searching for the network. Why is it having trouble with the sim card? Id appreciate any advice

Not that I know of. They have an identical model for ATT, and then this model for the TMO.
Yeah I doubt it because then it would mean you could probably smart out with a cheap Sprint MVNO plan!

No you can't remove the Google stuff. You don't have to sign into an account which will limit some of it,but then why get this phone?

@@filipvasiljevic9622 they have those. They exist. The selling point for this one is the Google features, hence me asking why you would want this one without Google. It's a special flip phone because of the google lol

I actually recently lost my smartphone personal reasons and when my mom said I can get a flip phone I was excited bc id rather have a flip phone instead of a smartphone I still use mine for my fitness watch and stuff but I have to say this flip phone is amazing I had issues with the smartphones I have one coworker that has a flip phone I don't care if people judge me thanks alcatel for the upgrade flip phone

i don't know. That's a carrier question and I don't know anything about canadian carriers/networks.
Just got a new one and it’s been charging for a few hours but there’s no indication that anything is happening. For example, no charge indicator light… I thought it had one, but maybe I’m wrong. Basically nothing is lit up.

Good question! I have a new TCL from the same family of phones and the charging symbol comes on for a few seconds and then turns off - then nothing happens. No "charge complete" message like most other flip phones. Maybe there is something in settings to make more happen?
You might hate this phone b/c it's VERY non-intuitive. You'll be pulling your hair out! + poor btry life
I didn't find it too difficult to maneuver. You have to learn how to use the phone, sure, but after that it works just fine - I would expect this with any new phone design you're not used to.

I just want to say, I got this Go Flip 4g phone for my 86 yr old father. He couldn't be happier to go back using the flip phone instead of the stupid smartphone, he can never figure out how to answer the smartphone let alone texting. I am certain there are many people still appreciate simple phone. I highly recommend this phone, loud and clear.

It should, yes. I haven’t tested it and I don’t have the phone any longer but since you can connect your google account to it, I believe it will work.

3:40 dam I wish I knew about those contests. I was really good with T9 texting, much faster than most everyone else that thought they were fast. I actually wish I could use T9 with my smartphone, it'd be even better than using swipe.

My dad bought one of the go flip phones. It will not stay off of safe mode. Every time u power the phone off it restarts. Is there a way t turn off safe mode and keep it off?

Got one of these 6 days ago.It won’t let me make calls because it says no SIM card.Nearest store is 30 miles away .Impossible to get through online to T-Mobile.There is a SIM card but it stopped working after 5 days.The calendar did not change dates .Just stayed on the same date no matter what I did.Complicated garbage.
Sounds like an issue with the sim card.

@@mahaelluri6825 I guess? I see a lot of complaints about features that are missing. This is a flip phone with basic smart assistant features. Not smart phone. If you want access to the latest apps and screen casting and certain other features, you should probably just get a smartphone

I been using the acatel flip phone 1 for over 6 months now, I work construction so a smart phone is not a good choice, I'm thinking of up grading to another flip phone, I might get this one, no problems with my Acatel so far, just want something with more stuff, however, I would like a flip phone with a sliding key board ,or touch screen.

@@sais9221 Too delicate. Battery has to be able to be swapped easily so you do not have to tie up phone with cable and be stuck without it. Plugging in a phone is the most stupid thing ever. I never have my phone tied to a cable. It would be like your cordless drill or flashlight forcing you to plug it in and not being able to walk around or work with it while it was charging. Battery life also sucks on smartphones. I have batteries that will last 2 days or even a week on my flip.
Hallelujah! I work construction as well. Regardless smart phones are garbage. The majority of them have horrible sound quality. On my flip I swap out the battery and seconds and never have the phone tied up on a charge cable. People don't answer the phone because it is the other room charging, or their app is not working, or some other nonsense. Texting is tedious and slower compared to just talking. I used voice commands with my earpiece and ever touch my flip or its keyboard. If I need to type an email or check the internet, that is what a laptop or computer is for and I do that when I get home. If someone needs to contact me sooner, they can call. That is what a phone is for. . I am not so helpless that I have to have an internet connection everywhere I go. Smartphones are larger, more bulky and less convenient to use than a flip hands free like mine. Why would anyone hold a phone up to their head anymore. I laugh at them when i see it. I had a headset for my brick phone that I had in the late 80s and had the phone mounted in a bracket on my bicycle. Get with the program. People have gone backwards with technology. Texting is akin to the telegraph. the telegraph went out with the phone a century ago.
@@ariip While I kind of agree with you, technology is going to advance whether you like it or no. people choose to do what they want with their phones. I have considered going back to a flip phone but I need to find the right one first.

This one is for TMO. There is an ATT model as well. Neither of these models will work with VZW. I'm not sure if there is a model available. I would check their website.
@@TechOdyssey Alcatel Go Flip V is the Verizon one. That’s the one you have to use if you want US Mobile or Tracfone as they both use Verizon’s towers now.

How do I import contacts from my gmail?
You go into the menu and down to email. When you login with your gmail account it will import your contacts. I just did it and tested it out and it worked.
How do you bring up the setting to move onto the main screen ?
