Great for boot pulls, gives a bigger pad for your finger to pull against when the two knots are pulled together. My slip on work boots have boot ears or "boot pulls" at the top of each boot but it's like they're just for show as they were sewn on with no room to slid your finger into them for which to pull your boots on. This sliding knot should do the trick.
