    Kinda loved how Irwerks used his multiplane camera process he developed that Disney would later use for The Old Mill and Snow White 3 years later for the scenes of Willie swinging through the jungle. The multiplane jungle Willie was swinging through reminds me of The 3-D backgrounds used in most of the Fleischer Brothers Cartoons including Popeye Meets Sinbad The Sailor and Betty Boop’s Poor Cinderella

    That hot swing number going on during the dino battle is "Lafayette" by the Bennie Moten Orchestra, with a very young Count Basie on piano.

    Awesome!! I have this on 16mm. Though it has no opening, it does have the end titles intact, which are the original MGM ones seen here. Wish I had a scanner to transfer it.

    One question: Is it the case with every Thunderbean release that the cartoon is scanned and restored in the best possible quality (up to 4K) and is only reduced back to 2K for the Blu-Ray release?
    Would it be possible for some cartoons to be released on 4K or UHD Blu-Ray?

    • @stevestanchfield8491
      @stevestanchfield8491 Месяц назад

      There are a *lot* of them that were scanned and cleaned up in full 4k- and some were cleaned up in 2k. so, a 4k release is possible, but the question really becomes affordability- and having sales cover those costs or at least close. I'm not sure how much a 4k disc is to master and replicate...or what the market would be for he already niche things we do...

      @@stevestanchfield8491 In any case, this is totally understandable. My only concern was whether you as restorers really got everything out of the available materials or not.
      Many things from other producers are often referred to as 4K or 2K, but they are not really (AI upscaling). You're basically doing the complete opposite, which is really fantastic ;)
      Another question: Are you involved in the Project "Fabulous Fleischer Cartoons-Restored"? Similar to this project, you have already restored some Fleischer cartoons, although the project mentioned only releases their restorations in cinemas and theaters, while you also make Blu-Rays. Are these the same restorations?

    Could this be the inspiration behind the Flintstones? The idea of a modern society in the Stone Age is already in place here. It's also what Hanna and Barbera must have watched as kids.

      The idea of a modern Stone Age society goes all the way back. Both in comics & animation
      Also, William Hanna was heading the ink & paint department at Harman-Ising during this time and Joe Barbera was still trying to get into animation at this time
