Some fun info.... Those wright ratchets you love... Were also made for Matco tools back in 1988. I had to replace the internal recently and it works great! Only took 30 years of daily use before it finally broke.
I like the proto stuff I have. Especially the ratcheting wrenches I have by them. They are stout. Use them every day and haven't had any issues of the ratcheting feature failing like many others I have had.
Buy williams usa tools. Their ratchets are a very good price, they used the old snap on 36 tooth style and made in the same snap on plant. Can find them a good price on ebay and Amazon plus lifetime warranty. Very good quality tools.
Refreshing to see a guy with proper tools. The long Wright flex is 4430 and the 12" 1/2 is 4427....for those few interested in good tools. WARNING: Not by the week. Cash and carry.
If you do any engine work, (building/rebuilding performance) the 12 points will serve you far better than 6 point....If you do pretty much anything else then you don't need twelve point but they definitely have their place....
That Kobalt breaker broke on me like it was a piece of uncooked spaghetti. And it was $80. Returned that as fast as possible and bought something USA made that hasn't broken yet.
I have proto USA, Armstrong, snap on, mac tools, JH Williams, SK been using them for years... Buy proto USA trust me, wrench, sockets, screwdrivers, etc for the price it's unbeatable and don't ask me why but never seen a rusty proto in my cabinet, metal feel different and is undefeatable... My snap on sockets are rusty like dollar store and do quickly, lots of my sk socket chiped...for years of experience money wise = Proto USA made > JH Williams USA made > Armstrong > snap on > mac tools USA made > SK (some sockets chipped the first use never happened to any other brand) recently started to get some Matco tools and I must say I prefer the power tools over my snap on. If I would start all over I would get Perfect setup : Snap on toolbox or Matco, Matco power tools, full of proto USA hand tool! It would last a lifetime and not the most expensive setup.
I have to say I’m impressed with tekton quality. I bought sunnex impacts and they are very good as well for the money. Eventually I will sell them and buy American made impact sockets. I’m hair wondering if Wright tools is good for automotive stuff.
Wright Tool is good for anything. In my opinion, it’s some of the best stuff you can get. I have some of their impact sockets and they’re great. Having said that, I think I’d buy Tekton or something along those lines for impacts. The reason being, they get so beat up. I usually wind up throwing away the ones I use often after a year or so. Then again, maybe the USA made ones last that much longer. I’ve never tracked it. Anyway, try out some Wright Sockets. You won’t be disappointed.
@@niferous1 yeah I was trying to find sk but eBay is insane on the prices. I know acme tools sells Wright tools they are mostly back ordered so I don’t mind waiting. I have a bunch of sockets. Tony Brown Yeah I am a professional mechanic and use lots of Kobalt it’s much better than modern Craftsman Tekton is really good too and Gearwrench but I took a Gearwrench socket to advance auto to be warrantied the other day and it said made in China instead of Taiwan so I am going to not use Gearwrench anymore either. Sunex is also really good which is who I buy a lot from too.

How are the tolerances on the Wright sockets?
Impact sockets; you want thick heavy duty sockets. Makes a big difference removing fasteners.
Wright has the best sockets and combo wrenches.
I use my wright double pawl 3/8 every day. LOVE IT. You can get them for a reasonable price too.
Me too, I think they are 40 bucks and well worth it!

I wonder how a lifetime warranty on a discontinued item works?
Do you run into a lot of 12 pt fasteners?
