Texas is by appointment only - every 10 years. The 5 year renewal and address changes are done online. My last in person renewal took maybe 10 minutes.
I live in a small town in Ohio . Walk in right to the window. Out I go.once in a while I had to wait 20 min or so. I like the small town it's much cheaper to live and go to the city when I have to. The look on your face Irina made me smile.
Howdy, Irina 👋😁😜 Greetings from Oklahoma. Trips to the Tag agency/ DMV range anywhere from 5 min to one and a half hours depending on location and time of day.
Since I moved a year ago, the one I go to now, takes about 20 minutes. The one I used to go to for 13 years, the wait was usually around an hour to an hour and a half.

The big Main offices are Miserable. Try the Small ones that were put in Galereria / Shoping Centers.
Back in the day, hours. Now, depending where you are at. Living in a small community, I'm in and out under 10 minutes.
7 hours for registration in colorado, screw the dmv
One of the two places I truly hate being at is the DMV.
Don't know. I'm still there! When I get out, I'll tell ya! 😂

Some states are more efficient than others. My last trip to the DPS (DMV in other states) was 15 minutes here in Texas.

My county's DMV is pretty good, I'm usually in and out in an hour plus or minus a few minutes.

The movie Zootopia will get a laugh about the DMV.
I do my stuff online or through the mail, way in advance, where possible.
