Once had a huge jack dempsey that wouldn't allow any other species of fish or any other life form into his tank. Hed immediately destroy any and all newcomers 💯 he would swim from one end of the tank to the other banging his head on the glass. He ended up dying after approx a year. I actually conducted a autopsy on him cuz I was curious how he died. I its stomach open and low and behold the damn thing was packed full with pebbles/rocks from the tank. I was under the impression the damn lunatic had a heart attack from all his crazy behavior and in the end the damn thing took his own life.. my tank musta sucked
wow crappy thing for kid to be doing. The whole point of keeping pets is to give them a safe home rather than create a situation where they gotta fight. Tank is way too tiny for them.
Why keep them together, any fish keeper with even minimal experience knows not to keep these aggressive type of cichlids together, the only type of cichlids you can keep together that are aggressive are mbuna, You've got to have tons of rocky caves. I mean, you could keep New Worlds/SA end with one another if you've got like a 200 gallon plus tank and tons of vegetation and caves and log structures to prevent line of sight. It's stupid to allow them to fight like this because it's raising up their stress levels unnecessarily, it's not like they're in the wilderness and have the ability to escape so their cortisol can get back to normal. It shortens their lifespan exponentially.
@@Variedbattles they definitely are. they hit fucking hard. i had to take out a lot of my fish from my 125 gallon because my jack dempsey had them on the verge of dying.
I hate you let them fight ik that flowerhorn wasnt cheap, and its a living creature, you not stopping this is as bad as not stopping a dog fight. Beautiful fish, but i hate they’re in poor hands.... and a beautiful acari chicilid
I been raised fish for last 15 years. I know what im doing, all fish are very territory, specially cichlids fish. I know when to stop and separated them out. This video is want to show how fish can be very aggressive with others. Dont take it the wrong way.
These are cichlids we're talking about. Lip locking is pretty normal. Aggressive fish do aggressive things. If you keep 2 cichlids you better have a tank divider though just in case one starts getting really beaten up. Only if you start noticing damage though
Yes that is Red Dragon. Flowerhorn have very good personality, it fun to keep Flowerhorn. I included a good website i use to bought my Flowerhorn below. Just ask for Julie 916aquatics.com
Jacks can be chill had many meanest fish I ever had was a male yellow jewel chiclid it killed red devil twice it’s size a few convicts even a small pleco it killed everything in the tank it wasn’t even fully grown
I have to say no, because they both can be big and very territory fish. U can put Flowerhorn with couple African cichlids, if u like i can show you a video of my current flowerhorn with African cichlids and acrada blue cichlids. African cichlids are smaller than flowerhorn, so they dont mess with the flowerhorn at all.
I would say you could do it But with advised caution towards the flowerhorn because of how they can be I've mixed them with JD green terror red devil and Oscars

Just like people, the other fish can't take his eyes off the fight.
Dempseys arent named after a legendary fighter for nothing. Theyre big and strong fish, among the best
I’d say they’re average in terms of aggression. Won’t get picked on and would stand up for themselves but nowhere near the most aggressive cichlids
@@Buttikoferiii not aggression but in my experience theyre one of the toughest

Great video

Get some dark sand that jack and acara would look sooo good bro. Either way, Jack Dempsey would murder that genetic flowerfreak lol

No. Flowerhorns don't do well with tank mates typically. Like 99% of the time. They don't even want anything in the tank. No wood, sand etc.
