I would love to watch this style of video more often. My biggest hurdle as a crocheter/knitter has been finding quality yarns with good color ways for a reasonable price and you have already introduced me to 2 new yarns that I am so excited about!! Thank you :)
I’m late, but love the Blue Sky Fibers shoutout! I’m knitting up a balaclava in their Suri Merino and it’s an absolute dream. That tweed yarn is also gorgeous in person!
Love the tour, your use of Ravelry is very clever, many crafters could learn from you. Now I want to go when you buy the yarns in person, I love watching others spend money! I will live vicariously through your purchases
I love these window shopping videos! Another option to check out is Wool & Company. They are an IL based yarn store and they carry brands like Isager, Noro and Sandnes Garn, just to name a few and shipping is free in the US! 🩷
Donegal is a county in Ireland, and is the tweed flecks. Studio Donegal is a well known yarn brand here in Ireland. As an Irish person, the way you say Donegal is interesting haha, its fun but very off😊😂
Love this video! I take screen shots of the yarn on my phone so I can look at different colors together. I'll also add the yarns to my cart and move them around to see them all together in different orders. Once I decide on my yarn, I'lll add the project to my queue on Ravelry, and in the notes I'll put what size I'm going to knit, the yarn I want to use with all the colors listed and quantities of skeins/balls I'll need for my size. That way, when I go back to knit the project, all the info is there for me.
Love the video, would watch more like it! I'm currently test-knitting the mamba sweater you referred to, and the yarn you looked at for it looked so good!
Love this!! So interesting to see how you approach colour choice (I saw myself a lot in this, especially being drawn to purples and yarns I can’t afford lol). Sometimes I take screenshots of the yarns and put them together in PowerPoint / Canva to see them right next to each other. Setting them to black and white can also help to check if the contrast is large enough. Looking forward to more videos like these !!
Love the casualness of this video style - it’s also so refreshing to see the realtime reactions! Also I laughed so hard at your statement of “maybe I want a sweater that looks like how my grandma would drink her coffee… which was like with a bunch of cream” LOL LEGENDARY! ❤ (But also a stunning colour)
i’m a longtime crocheter but my motivation to teaching myself to knit too was to make the folklore cardigan, so seeing you window shop for that project made me so happy!! 😚🫶🏻 sewrella released a pattern for it too and i wish i’d followed hers but i’ve already knit everything but the sleeves though ahaha! 💫
I've never ever seen Vera Bradley but it sounds like the US equivalent of Cath Kidston😂 also I'm totally going to knit the Sari Nordlund Lumme sweater, I've never seen it before but I'm obsessed!! So much inspo😍
I love this style of video! I could actually watch you window shop for yarn all day ❤You have made me want to buy yarn for the Lumme and the Mamba hahaha like I might knit a camel mamba now
I need a reality-tv inspired yarn shopping video.
clips from a talking head room set up, dramatized slow mos, a rose ceremony for the final yarn selection

Glad to hear it! There are so many options out there it can be overwhelming to decide where to start
I love this!! I love pattern round up videos, but this is like a whole new level. I love looking at yarn, so these would never get old for me!!

Someone else also mentioned moving the yarns around in their shopping cart to see how they pair, both are such great ideas!
love the shopping trip!! Mean Mr. Mustard is a Beatles song
need to brush up on my beatles!
Drops Nepal is a great option, but it pills a lot, so I recommend pairing it with a mohair. Also love this video idea😍
Thanks for the tip!
