I love the way they did this song. This is one of my favorite high school mariachis. I'm a big fan. These girls can really sing. There is so much musical talent in the valley. Love it. Thanks for posting this great video. I never get tired of watching this video.

This has the be one of the most beautiful performances of this song! I just watched your mariachi’s perform it on this year’s online CEDFA conference, and I was in tears! I’ve watched it three times in a row now. Thank you so much for performing this beautiful song!!

This has to be one of the greatest performances of this beautiful ballad written for the 1955 prison film 'Unchained' I have ever heard. My goodness! My high school band and chorus never sounded like this...
The song was composed by Alex North (1910-1991), and the lyrics were written by Hy Zaret (1907-2007).
The song was first sung in the film by African American Opera Singer, Howard University Professor, and Broadway and film actor Todd Duncan.
Since 1955 the song has been sung by most recording artist in the world. It has since become one of the most recorded songs in the history of music.
In 1965 the late great Bobby Hatfield of the 'Righteous Brothers' gave one of the greatest live performances ever in the history of television. That performance cemented his version as the quintessential version of them all. It is the version that every recording artist has used, and uses today.
