Just a couple of years ago Joel played that Mario game where tons of people are Mario racing through one of the old stages from the first game, and one of the guy's name was... ahem... "Nword D#ath"... but of course it was not modified as I have done so. Joel took it well but I could tell he was holding back to be heckin' wholesome (puke)
Is it weird that I'm desensitized from edgy content that it doesn't phase me. I mean I've seen much worst back during the old wild west of the internet days Plus we all know Vinny is a good guy and doesn't mean anything malicious behind it

I kinda miss old Vinny a bit, not that Vinny isn’t fun to watch anymore but he definitely feels a lot more restricted in what he feels like he can say. I think it’s because chatyot has become a little parasocial even if no one wants to admit it. Whenever I see Vinny being portrayed on platforms like Twitter they treat him like an “owo wholesome streamer”. It’s basically what happened to Jerma when he became popular. It’s a weird relationship where the viewer acts like the streamer is an innocent god who can do no harm.
@@Crawfishness I mean yeah I’m not saying I want Vinny saying slurs again, because that’s not really funny at all. I just think that chat has a part in Vinny being restrained, besides the sanitation of the internet over the years as you mentioned. I mean just the other night in his Splatoon Finale stream he was talking about Dream and his weird fans, and he kinda called out that part of the chat I was talking about. I’m more of a lurker since I don’t really say anything in chat, but that gives me more time to look at what people are saying. And of course not all of chat is like this but over the years I’ve seen people try to “educate” Vinny and tell him how to feel or think. Basically what I’m saying is that most of current chat would have a meltdown if they found out Vinny and Vinesauce as a whole started out from 4chan.
Wasn't there a clip when Vinny and Joel plays CS:GO absolutely mashed and Vinny calls someone a f*g in obvious drunk agitation? I can't find it anywhere, feels like I've dreamt the whole thing.
The important thing is that these clips are all YEARS old and Vinny has grown a lot since then. He knows what's up these days and that makes him a lot more respectable in my book.
One thing I love about these clips is that like, he doesn't act like this anymore. Like sure things like this could hurt people and he's never meant any harm by it but he also seems to know how things like this *could* hurt people. Really goes to show how he's changed from his edgelord gamer phase. When it comes to dark jokes it's all about recognizing your audience and understanding how, as an entertainer, you're here to entertain, and that means you aren't to do anything that hurts folks. Like I find these jokes funny as someone who is not only disabled but also LGBT+, but there's going to be someone out there who won't find it funny. Plus. you know. Self proclaimed "allies" to these groups that take everything too seriously and cancel everything in sight. Before folks DO try to cancel him, he doesn't act like this anymore. Yes there's still the occasional dark joke (which i fucking love unlike those pansies on Twitter) but these guys are also you know, supporters of the groups they seem to, as twitter would put it, "target." They also don't fling slurs around anymore as far as I know.
