Compression is an always on thing for me, and usually I'm pretty aggressive with it. Sometimes I'll even turn on a few compressors for extra mayhem. I loved your description of it as "clean distortion" - that's it! I'm not trying to sound like anyone else, and compression gets me some nice thick, gooey yet fairly clean sounds that seem unique, especially with heavy trem for a bouncy rhythmic pulse. This pedal sounds real nice to me, and that clipping knob is intriguing for sure. This may be my fourth compressor...
I have a "clipping" knob on my compressor and the manual says it's to adjust for low or high output pickups. For humbuckers it recommends turning it down, for single coils- turning it up. Basically, it's just extra compression- which does come in handy with single coils or if you've got a drive that isn't quite hot enough for a lead tone this knob will push it over the edge.
It sounds cool. It has that sag and bloom thing of the Bogner Harlow comp/boost pedal. had. The Bogner died of overpriced-itus :-) The Caline has been inoculated so it should survive. Your analogy of a 'clean OD' is right on. It is the reason one can use a few, lol.
It would be great to see a comparison of the the Caline Enchanted Tone vs The Mellow Driver. Luckily I dont need a compressor as my Orange amp seems to do a little bit of compression on its own.
Kind of a rip when the interviewers don't seem know what they are talking about. At the price this is a pretty cool pedal and does well. It is currently 40 bucks and worth every penny. Just take plenty of time to learn the pedal and find what you are looking for. Their opinion is theirs and may not be yours. Seriously, that kinda goes for everything.
I am really glad that Gabor you said at 11:00 mark that it’s difficult for the pedal to come across in a video as have to say I heard very little change as you were turning off and on and changing knobs didn’t really do anything and have to say I really don’t quite get compression pedals 🤫🫣😵💫

Congrats on the best compressor video like you mentioned not easy to demo!🎸🙂👍

Squeezing all the tone out of your signal 🤘🏽
12:18 never too much

Exactly. What is the difference between those two d style pedals?
Does the Clipping knob not perhaps control the Ratio of the compression?
Eagle Eye Boost looks fun
yes pls
is there a lot of noise?
Nothing that would have irritated me…
There can be a bit, but mostly if you haven't learned proper settings.
Seams to add to the sustain
Tons of sustain
