I found this cover a year ago, started learning it for my dad, but I never really finished it. Got about half way through.. my dad was a true Floyd fan. Him and I had gone to a few roger waters concerts as well as Brit floyd and a couple other amazing cover bands. He actually was asked to go on tour with big Rog’ during one of his later tours. My dad had a custom painted Pink Floyd truck and had it parked right outside the venue where the artists come in. Roger waters saw it from a distance, and headed straight to my dads truck. Had an hour long conversation inside all the while receiving hundreds of autographs. I remember him telling me it was a big deal because it delayed the show. My dad gave him a big marker and had him sign the hood of the truck which he later had filled in with paint. Roger waters wanted him to go on tour with him and just follow him to every show with the truck. My dad passed 8 months ago from a heart attack while at our family business. He was an absolute legend. I’m going to finish this cover and play it for my dad, I know he’s watching. Rock on!!!!
Thor, thank you for sharing your father’s memory… and I am really sorry for your loss…
what a great experience should have been meeting Roger… i never had the pleasure 😊
Keep going… I am sure he is already very proud of you, watching from the sky…
Do you remember the name of the other PF tributes?
@@AWLSynthCraft “The Pink Floyd Experience”, and “Brit Floyd” were the two that I remember. I believe there was one more. Thanks for the reply. Shine on!
I like both of them… have a listen to “Zinc Floyd” and “Think Floyd”. I play in both bands (in Think Floyd as dep, not always).
Let me know what you think.
Shine On!
@@AWLSynthCraft amazing! Both bands! Phenomenal sax player in zinc Floyd! Where are y’all out of? I may have a private gig for you!!
Great sounds and programming and especially very elegant Rick Wright playing style. You can feel all the spirit of Pink Floyd in this cover. Great work!
Agreed. This guy is feelin´it.
He deserves a full band and David Gilmour to play together, just on the 160th floor of a tall building at sunset...
Oh... What a beautiful vision... This keeps me on dreaming..... Thank you! :D
The Rooftop Concert
This is probably the best cover I’ve heard of any song on RUclips
This musician must have millions of views he is so good !!!!!! mama miaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
gorgeous and accurate. The mesmerizing, haunting beauty of this composition, what an amazing, mind blowing elogy. Absolutely not to be missed. That low root tone done to perfection here....can not tell from the original...
Performance: Perfect. Strings / Organ / Lead synth sounds: PERFECT. Bass / guitar / sax sounds: Local seaside shrimp restaurant cover band. Drums sound: Pretty decent. Overall: 9/10.
Andrea you’re super kool musician👍😀🎶
Fantastic he does what Rick and Jon did together in1994 when I saw them playing this in Rotterdam 💪👍🏻💪👍🏻💪👍🏻
Love this and the quality sound...
6:39 that synth solo teleports me to another universe every single time...
Hell ya
Indeed. How is that sound called on the Synth/ how can you create that?
It is a "brass" style patch. The original is made with saw wave shape.
500% agree. He is another Richard Wright
@@ssm2942 too kind... Thank you!
Excellent work 👏 👍 Pink Floyd one of the best bands ever 👍
love this man!!! need more pink floyd keyboard covers/tutorials please!!🤘🏽

It's an inspiration (i think not only for me)
Great job. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time as I am just starting to study this song.
Heavenly Sir.👌
I will make great use of your excellent video and lesson.
Thanks very much.🍻
Ricky would have been proud of you...may he RIP
Amazing work, you're a true one man orchestra!
El mejor cover de you tube, el mas apegado al original, buen trabajo.... 100%
Thanks for going to the effort of the overhead view as it helps so much. You have a passion for playing as I know the hours spent at the keyboard to get things W(right)!
Thank you Wavester!
Fantastic, thank You very much! To tears!
Thank you!
Noticed your little one in the studio where you play - catch em young mate and introduce them to the wonderful music of the Pink Floyd era - they are the future of music.
You've done well!!!
Wonderfull, fantastic cover. Congratulations.
Excellent!!!!!! Thanx for sharing!!!!!
Excellent, très bon clavieriste 👌👌👌❤️
Fantastic. Very inspiring, thank you 👏
I recently started playing again and learned Pigs and Sheep as fast as possible, though this even cooler. Might have to invest in a new keyboard at some point. Playing 6-9 would be a dream.
Thank you for sharing!
Basta una parola: Magico! ♥
Congratulations 👍
Simply brilliant❤
Superb, congrats!
excelente trabajo!!
Brilliant well done !
Cheers Ashfaq!
@@AWLSynthCraft welcome 🤗
Awesome performance! I'm trying to just learn Part I! What you've shown me is that it will be years (if ever) before I even hope to come close ;-) BTW, how can anybody give this a thumbs down???
Great work for a great Song!
Grazie Emanuele!
excellent from luxembourg !
Absolutely STUNNING! Well done :)
Thank you!
Love those “tinkles” too. Is the computer on the side doing anything other tham recording, or playing your other band members parts?
Nailed it! 👍👏👏
656 subscribers? That's just criminal. I've added mine bro. This is great, authentic. I was only looking for the fingering for the opening keyboard chord!!
Woh Nice well done m8 🎼🎹
Dang, but this is so good!
OMG boy how your production sounds
Just epic!
Amazing!!!
This is the best one for me.
Amazing
Que espetacular. Parabéns
EXCELLENT
First of all, sorry for my inglish! ok it's not perfect, but it's exactly what I'm looking for in a tutorial: the explanation. All fantastic, thank you very very very much!!!
Hey gigi,
Il tuo inglese va bene 😁
Ho capito cosa intendi.
Grazie, e son contento che ti sia piaciuto!

gotta do shine on you crazy diamond 6-9, that is mainly synth
Thanks my friend!!!
Merece uma banda completa e um David Gilmour para acompanhar, num terraço do 160 andar de um grande edifício.
This is the best comment I have ever received 🤣
I wish it could become true, one day... 😁
Absolutely outstanding. You wouldn’t be up for doing a cover of this together by any chance would you? I have the same custom backing track and am half way through recording. That was fantastic 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
of all vids this is the best one. i do vibrato on keys too haha.. great performance and great video editing.. know any vst for those bells and/or hammond? if free better.. congrats! you are a great musician!
Ciao Franco, grazie!
These are all KRONOS sounds.
If you are on Apple, Logic Pro has really good preset vst (such as hammond, synths, etc...).
It is a matter of playing with the knobs and find the right “sound shape”!
Yeah. It gives you a bit more insight into all the little nuances in that underlying chord at the start as well. Great stuff
AZR3 is a wicked free plugin
@@thedrewids7 AZR3 is the one I used, but for bells i keep looking :-(
Spitfire audio labs has a nice warm bell sound
oh wow
Andy this is awesome…it seems that SOYCD is the “holy grail” in terms of sound authenticity for synth players (including myself - a years long quest!) and you sir have nailed it..there are a couple of preset packs from Arturia that have some SOYCD sounds that are accurate in there (think it’s part of their V8 collection that I bought). I first played this in my band a few years back on my old Yamaha MOX8 and Roland VR-09, (have a video if you are interested), and I thought I’d gotten reasonably close, but coming full cycle back to the song again, as I do periodically, and in the process looking at other videos, I’ve realised that you have taken it to another level! Oh well, back to the SOYCD drawing board…(going to have another go with my Roland Fantom (has a great pad that I can work with, as well as some basses) and see if I can get close to yours…thanks for uploading this, it’s truly the best out there…
Thank you Muzza for your comment, really appreciated! It takes a very long time to reach close to the original sound. I am reviewing my sounds periodically as well, and every time I feel to change/improve something... endless job, but I think this is the beauty of Pink Floyd!
Have a good one.
Andrea

Awesome, quite the reach from F to the octave higher A# my little Bass fingers wont quite reach doh!
I would be so happy if I could recreate those sounds and were able to play this.

Grazie, molto utile
Well, heck. Great Gig in the Sky calls for ELEVEN on the machine. Are you ready for that? We are.
Muito bom!!!
Sounds like you nailed it. I thought there were eleven notes in the basic chord. I'm glad to learn it is easier than that.
Yer excellent, dude! Thanks. Like Floyd much? 😄
hii! could you provide a Google drive link with the full video? I'm trying to learn this on keys by referring to your video. Thanks
Real good job very helpful !
Could you just tell the tempo of this part and give some advice about the Moog sound (ADSR, filter…) please ?
What the fuck bro ! You're awesome dude .... fuckin' lovin' it . ! Loved the guitar parts . Cheers
Superb tone. I couldn’t find the tutorial part tho. Where can i see it?
Hey,
Basically, this is the tutorial… you can see the hands on the keys 😉
Best!
Grazie Paolo!
What is that lead sound program you are using on the Kronos ? Is it a modified preset, I have a Korg Kross and was wondering what it is, some sort of synthy flute or what ? It sounds very sine and square wavy...
You're awesome. I only have a korg r3 vocoder and yamaha psr235. No computer and wondered If there's a way I can find a hammond sound like that without a computer and the other sounds as well. The splitting is confusing on one keyboard too . I LOVE S.Y.D.
I think you will meed a computer for a decent hammond sound, or maybe condlsider updating your keyboard. Nowadays there are affordable modern keys with more than decent hammond sounds…
@@AWLSynthCraft is there a keyboard you can recommend with decent Hammond on it?
@@alexmeaneymusic5991 Hey,
Definitely, I think NORD keys have the best hammond sound. I am not very happy with the KORG organ engine.
Otherwise, there are many softwares doing a more than decent job: the Logic Pro hammond is really good. Arturia has a nice hammond too…
Have a look around. At the end, the sound has to suits personal taste…
Wow. Does wiggling your finger on the keys on the upper keyboard in a sort of vibrato movement really change the sound? I've never seen that before, Korg make great keyboards.
Hi Robert,
Yes, it is called after touch. Once the key is pressed, you can add more pressure to activate it. In this case, it is assigned to a vibrato effect.
Most synth/keyboards have this feature.
Thank you for watching!
Hi Andrea!
Excellent tutorial 10/10
Could you please help me? What's the specific sound do you use for the chimes (bells)?
Thank you very much
Hi Angelica,
Soon a new deconstruction Video for this song's intro 🙂
awesome, i have that KORG, you need a PHD in synthesis to figure out how to work it. did you sample the original sound off the album?
Hi Songspire,
I sampled the pad at the beginning of the song. The rest is sound design with the Kronos.
I agree, it takes time to understand how all the Kronos engines work... But I guarantee you, once you got them you will have fun!
Cheers!
Excelent cover, My respects for you, only one thing, what's the chord you play in transition in the verse 9:01-9:03, ive heard it on live versions 74-75 and nobody seems to play it but you 👏
Hey, thank you for yoir comment. That transition chord is a Gmin9/11
Basically, I am playing the below notes:
G A C
Try it!
Amazing! Thank you! Do you know if there is a site with all the Floyd samples...like the airplanes and the voices and all those things?
Hey, thank you.

La guitarra suena mas delante y el synth suena detras
Hello, I have a new Yamaha clavinova. Curious if you, or anyone, has idea of what layer sound would be best to use? I feel like I’ve gone through all options and feel like there’s something I am not doing right. I have the cvp 805. TY! BTW, very nice job here. Awesome… had to share the video.
Hi Saul,
The Clavinova is an ensemble stage piano... I don't think you can shape the sounds as in a synthesiser.
Hope this helps
Thanks You
Trying to download an authentic hammond sound on to my Yamaha dx230 via usb and musicsoft downloader
Hey, you can connect your yamaha to your computer via USB and play the hammond plug-in. Will this work?
@@AWLSynthCraft what's a hammond plug in. I've tried to find apps. Also my yamaha has a function button but the instructions also says I need a midi cord

What keyboard is the top one? I loved the organ sound on time and the lead sounds great in this one
Hi,
It is a KORG Triton, but all the sounds you hear come from KRONOS.
