I know Yoko Shimomura was the composer for the OG game but you. CAN. TELL. It’s her at the helm again with the music because I’ve never heard any of the music from either version in my life but then the piece that begins at 17:24 made me break down in tears. It gave me Xenoblade 1’s intro and Final Fantasy XV’s emotions and just lambasted me. I had no intention of picking up the game - but now? I’m going to have to.
This is what remakes should be. A polished 1 to 1 game without any negatives. This is a perfect example of a remake done right, no half assed things and no double edge sword problems. When i get payed im instantly buying this game.
One thing that's cool about Sledge is that it's actually one of those crushing pillars you would see in Mario World. Really cool that they took a stage obstacle and turned it into an attack. Kinda wish we had more of that in the Mario RPGs.
There’s quite a few references to Mario World. It’s probably because that game was still relatively recent when RPG released and also they’re both SNES games as well.
Who else cried for their childhood? And when the parade changed to modern from the old 1996 version, my heart dropped. I also never cried for a character ending like Geno returning back to normal
I never played the original Super Mario RPG. So the remake was my first experience with it. I just beat it & I absolutely loved it so much more than I had expected! And that ending made me tear up a bit as I got emotional. It felt nostalgic even though I’ve never played the original. The overall experience was magical & I’ll never forget it. 🥹
@@yourdaddysaid Oh I’ve cried more with other RPGs & story driven action-adventure games. Whereas Mario, I’ve only cried for a few games like Mario Galaxy & now Mario RPG Remake. 🥲
The ending already had a little teary eyed, but when i saw the OG animation at the parade I completely broke down. Damn what a nostalgia bomb to my heart.
Okay, now I feel REALLY bad for thinking this game was overrated. The OG, that is. But this remake is beyond amazing. I didn’t expect to fall in love with it as hard as I did.
The final boss is amazing in my opinion. It’s challenging, and feels satisfying to beat. That’s what makes a great final boss imo. Not to mention, Smithy has a great design too
Sometimes when I watch the final battle it makes me wonder if smithy's ultimate goal was the mass produce himself, or if those were just failed prototypes of him and there's a bigger evil at play then we realize
I really enjoyed this remake very much. They took everything about the original and made it better while keeping the spirit of the original intact. I did like how they put a tribute to the original 1996 dev team and made the first half of the parade use the original SNES graphics before switching to the new graphics at night. That was a nice touch!

Now that's totally awesome
True! The collab between Square and Nintendo had some amazing writers

I love how the floor breaks in the first half, alluding to the very first boss battle of the game in Bowser's Keep.

It's so good to hear Bowser's laugh again
honestly i love the back beat that pops in once you get a 5+ action chain
I don't have huge nostalgia for this game, but the ending + the music makes me wanna cry for some reason.
Never gets easier saying goodbye to Geno
Same, I 100% understand why people love this game so much
@@endoskel9262 Yeah it's a straight up masterpiece.
You can tell that the scenes with Gaz playing with his mom, and a slapstar dancing for everyone in Monstro Town are brand new in the remake's ending.
And the new is Garro in the Mallow Scene in the remake is change like he's just nooding himself instead of go away.

I think It might be a reference to how smithy always started with the sledge attack, in the original version.

I've always imagined Smithy being a prototype for robot santa from futurama

@@raveastThat's a great idea for a sequel!
I’m really interested in picking this game up definitely going to buy a Nintendo switch and this game on my next payday
If this sales well hope can get a proper sequel
If so, I hope we get Yoshi, Luigi, and Toad as playable characters!
It's sold 3 million copies so far, which is pretty good for a Mario RPG. I think we'll be getting a sequel pretty soon!
Imagine if nintendo and enix had continued there partnership.
I Finally Got Super Mario RPG On The Nintendo Switch 🎮🏆💯⭐️
yeaaaaaaaa... so
They've de-echoed Bowser's mario party laugh
I'm glad to see they left Smithy's "nose" intact when he's in wizard form at 12:11
It's quite a specimen!
it would be cool after another super mario rpg would come but great game

Awesome ending
Finished off Smithy with Mario/Mallow/Geno triple attack, Star Riders, a 1466 HP damage to Smithy!
Seems like there are minor changes to the credits after you do all the post-game stuff.
Yep, it's true
