- UNANNOUNCED PROJECT has released "The Nhaga Eater”, a visual concept trailer based on the acclaimed Korean fantasy novel “The Bird That Drinks Tears” by Yeongdo Lee.
The trailer was inspired by the concept art of Design Director Iain McCaig and Team Windless using Unreal Engine 5. The team has spent over two years on building character and worldview on the artwork.

The Bird That Drinks Tears is a fantasy novel that was serialized on the Computerized Bulletin Board System (CBBS) in 2002, and is a Korean fantasy novel that is still loved today in its official publication in 2003.
Based on the Eastern polytheistic faith and Friedrich Nietzsche's philosophy, it is so overwhelmingly supported that it is called the "Lord of the Rings" or "DUNE" in Korea.

@@anisisty Actually there's an audiobook (which is Korean, of course). It's a full voice-over cast (21 voice actors), and the voice actor of the protagonist performs at the Korean trailer.

Why are people asking for this epic novel to be turned into an MMORPG? That would be a really bad idea as it wouldnt do the story justice. I saw a comment for Witcher 3 style RPG, now that would be amazing. This is some pretty incerdible work though so far. I came here from a post of character creation on Artstation which is just stunning and I hope to see this projest grow.
It was first intended to be an MMORPG, but after huge backlash is becoming what we see here. Thankfully.

@@mongrelmarcos5488 no I disagree.. the story would already be largely ignored by a majority of its player base and it being a KOREAN mmorpg, already means it’s gonna be dead within the year.
Korean’s in general just have an absolutely terrible business model with these types of games and that’s why no one ever talks about.
@@thelink6756 It doesn't have to be a Korean only game, there's already some nice anticipation for a story-based game as dark and gritty as this appears to be.
If you're looking forward to this game, you should read the original novel at least once.

It will be a spoiler, so let me explain briefly.
There was Nhaga who did something to Kagan that even the same Nhaga felt terrible.
One unknown Nhaga risked all Nhaga's life to make some promise with Kagan, And stole the most precious thing.
Kagan was devastated after that.
But there was someone who saved Kagan from that despair, It was Kagan's wife.
over time, Kagan's wife was eaten after she accepted the same offer from Nhaga.
(FYI Nhaga itself is a race that they eat among themselves.)
After going through that, Kagan changed his name to the name of two species that became extinct to Nhaga.
Kagan always introduces himself as Kagan Draka, but it's not really his real name.
Kagan means a black lion, and Draca means a dragon.
To be clear, what Kagan does to Nhaga is wrong.
Because It's about projecting someone's fault to everyone.
However, it is true that such a terrible thing happened.
In short, the trailer shows killing another Nhaga on behalf of Nhaga, who betrayed Kagan and his wife.
Lastly, I prepared a line that shows Kagan's personality the most.
"I hate Nhagas. The subject of the sentence I just mentioned is 'hate'. Even if I'm gone, my hatred will remain."

Heh, i remember reading the novel this game is based on in school.
Got caught by the teacher and he took it away.
After the school ended i went to his office to get it back and he was reading it.
He just said he'll give it back tomorrow after he finishes it.
Description : in korea, many school teacher hate fantasy novel. They think like that : fantasy novel isn't real novel. It just wasting your time.

I'm never a fan of "Everything that Korea Creates is Great" type of man, I majored in Art, put my entire life into tasting music and arts, but I can really tell you that this novel is at the level of Hall of Fame of Human Literature. It's just that people cannot speak Korean. I literally believe, without any favoritism towards my own country, this novel stands with The Silmarilion and Shakespeare in it's own regard. I still see, feel, smell the world of this novel after 10 years. I wish people could read this in Korean. This novel also needs to be translated by almost perfect bilingual, native Korean, who knows and understands old english, and literatures written by old english such as Shakespeare's.

It is described as physically very strong. The description of the novel is as follows:
"It takes three Rekkons to capture a castle. One Rekkon to fight, two Rekkons to stop the fight if the fighting Rekkon gets too mad"

I would assume this is in engine. So, scripted. All you do is just press record on a camera rig that is set up in unreal engine. Basically a real time cutscene.
