- I usually like to play a video game franchise in order of release. But there are certain times where I'll jump into a series mid series and ignore the entries before it. Here are 15 examples where I do just that. From Final fantasy to Grand Theft auto. Plenty of older examples abound, not too many recent haha.
Intro music
"Your Mine" - Carpenter Brut (Furi Original soundtrack)

Dude I didn’t even comment on this one, you are doing it big brother!!!
Always nice to see a TimeSplitters fan. But yeah, I gotta be honest and say that I haven't played the original either. lol
Chrono Trigger soundtrack.... nice.
New subscriber here, looking forward to consuming your videos 😁
Doom eternal actually has both the original doom and the og doom 2 within it, and they both play perfectly fine! That's honestly a great way to play either imo
I don't believe the inability to play two players splitscreen online was an intentional design decision based on competitive balance. It's based on limitations.
Nothing wrong with playing the first doom on console, i played it on switch and had a great time definitely one of the few games from that era that holds up well enough to keep ke interested for a few hours
Lufia 1 is a tough game. Got good music, but you'll feel let down after its amazing sequel. I played it after to be chronologically correct and it was cool to see how the story progressed. You're a hardcore SNES RPG fan like me, so maybe you can power through it. There are better games. Congrats on getting monetized! WOW oh WOW! Good luck to 2000 subscribers next.
FF4 and FF6 are soooooo good
Definitely check out FF5, if you liked mixing and matching jobs and abilities in FFT you'll really get into the job system here!
Never got into Revolver, but I enjoyed Activision's GUN quite a bit. It's on 360, but was basically a 6th gen game that was ported. Very fun and worth a play IMO.
I’ve heard good things about gun. Will have to check it out
GUN basically is Red Dead Redemption
Ultima, Kings quest, shin mega tensi, Y's, bards tale, and elder scrolls.
All not worth going back to to me
Back when DOOM was popular, there was a HUGE difference between PC gaming and console gaming. Doom runs on DOS. You don't need a gaming appliance to run it. Even as a PC gamer, I haven't played the original DOOM. I've maybe tried it once but never really played it. It's way older than GoldenEye. There's no 3d.
Lufia 1 is very mediocre, imo you're not missing out on much if you never get around to it.
I also have not played the first Timesplitters, it was definitely a bummer to see Free Radical get shut down.
The first final fantasy is very rough you def should not check it out lol
I would agree that it's rough, but it's definitely worth checking out! Choose NES or PS1 based on personal taste.
I think it’s worth at least going back and playing Metal Gear 2 solid snake for the MSX 2, it has very similar story beats to metal gear solid 1 and is a very interesting game. Snakes revenge is not related to the rest of the franchise at all as was only made as a quick cash grab for American audiences
Great points, I’ve always wanted to play the actual metal gear 2 for that reason. I tried playing the ps2 version that they put on the subsistence version of MGS 2. But lost interest. It’s fascinating really how neither nes metal gear are the actual “games”
