Thanks, really appreciate this video. I just bought a used one and it's helped my debug what the problem was with the grinder as well as clean the burrs:)

What's to stop the grease from migrating into the coffee ? . . . Especially when the grease heats up from use and thins out, or breaks down from age and separates ? Haven't seen any lube being added to any other high end burr grinders, other than in the motor end.

I put my grinder back together had when I turned it on, it made a really bad screeching sound. Did I do something wrong?

It sounds like your blades may be touching or rubbing in some way when you have reassembled the grinder. I would try turning your knob to the coarsest possible setting before starting the grinder again. It is possible that you have calibrated the grinder to be too fine at the finer grind settings.

Hi, what lubricant did you use?

Stabbing the burrs with a screw driver seems like a bad idea to me. Doesn't it dull them, or damage them some other way?

Hello! This is a metal pick, rather than a screwdriver. It is non abrasive and used to loosen the hard-to-remove residual coffee from the burrs.

@@dukescoffeeroasters2035 Thank you for clearing that up!

@@martijnvdkerkhof yeah and you're not actually pocking the burr's teeth, just the space where the screws fit that usually get clogged up with very fine coffee.

At first turn to the coarsest setting.
