I like that companies are realizing that announcing games 4+ years in advance is a bad idea. I want more game to only be announced when they are ready. Hopefully GTA6 will not be delayed.
Agree, but we also have to realize the only reason they properly released the trailer was due to leaks, same with actually announcing the game. Without the leaks, hard to say how much about it we would know. Maybe the same, maybe less.

The game leaks from 2017-2020 that was released by the kid in what...2022? no way they felt forced to change anything about their schedule. bc after the big leak it took them a year and some change to announce they'll have an official trailer. i think theyre doing just fine in terms of schedule.

And I'm not saying I'm above it far from it. Any small scrap pieces or news like the original plan which seemed like they were aiming for. Yet still not sure if they could pull it off. But hinted at a 2024 fiscal year release.

@NovianLeVanMusic it's been 13 years 😭 I think if they announced it in 2023 and predicted it would come out two years later after 13 years it's probably pretty much finished. They've probably just been doing final touches and polishing for the last year or so.

Honestly its crazy how this game is causing so much discussions with people and even making some people lose their minds. This game will 100% be on global news and A LOT of people will call off work or take vacation days or become a hermit for their weekend just for this game. I 100% will.
i remember playing cyberpunk 2077 when it first came out on PS4 PRO. it crashed every thirty minutes, but i played it to the end. I'm glad the game is a lot better now.

i also got the game on launch day for my og model ps4. It was buggy as hell and pretty unplayable. But I somehow finished it. Then I got a ps5 a month ago and since cyberpunk 2077 is free if you already own it for an old gen console, I gave it another a try and my goodness does it look 100x better and feels more enjoyable. I made two different play throughs, one as corpo fem v and one as street kid male v, and play both play throughs back to back. I hope this game and my stacks of unfinished games will keep me busy until gta 6 comes out.
Same here. I bought Cyberpunk and the DLC for $40 and it was a really good experience. I had zero crashes or glitches my entire playthrough. Thank you all for beta testing the game for us who like to wait for the completed game.
I still wish they added features shown in E3 like gangs, and wallrun.
I pre-ordered it... didn't finish it until I upgraded to a ps5 & was happy with all the updates.
Still wish they gave phantom liberty to pre-order customers for a discount or free... maybe the bigger boost the the numbers could've gotten a second expansion
I feel like the reason they haven’t said anything is because they want to be as secretive as they can be for this game until they’re forced to say something like prior to an earnings call. Granted, the secretive behavior will be prior to the marketing push. After dealing with leaks and hacks, I don’t blame them for being as quiet as they have been. I still do believe that the game will release in Fall. Primarily because based off of the earnings call info before the Fall 2025 announcement, the financial earnings hinted at a Q1 2025 release. That’s why people believed an early 2025 release. As of right now, everything is still pointing to the Fall. Take-2’s next call is tomorrow which will reveal whether or not the game releases this year.
I wouldn’t mind a shadow drop, less trailers and less leaks before release means the game will be that much better, we’re too spoiled nowadays and know everything before it happens

There is no other good open world game right now, nothing. We need this trailer to help us at least see what's coming. We're not spoiled, we are desperately in need of a true next generation open world experience. GTA 6 will be that for many of us, we deserve this trailer. At this point the silence is disrespectful

what’s interesting & concerning, I think had those GTA 6 leaks not happened. there’s a chance we wouldn’t have gotten a trailer then and we actually would have gotten it around this time.

It is absolutely insane to me that I played GTA V on a Playstation 3. And around the time it really soured my opinion on GTA and Rockstar, because I and everyone else playing on a PS3 was forced to upgrade to a PS4 just after one year.

I’ve always told my friends since 2018 that GTA VI is always at least 2 years away from launch as long as we don’t have a trailer, because both GTA V and RDR2 had their first trailers 1 year before their planned launch, and then had two half year delays

I would agree with a lot of silence from them; you should ask yourself if something is out of place and not according to the plan they wanted. I mean, companies would use as much time as they can for marketing such a big game. R* is a company that plays by their own rules, but yet, 9 months before the 2025 "deadline" would be a good idea for at least some articles, if nothing else, or at least an announcement. Today we will have probably a basic line: We are looking forward to it and expect more soon. Hope something changed and they would be more open with it all, crossing fingers.

It's pretty smart marketing, leave people dying for info, wait until 6 months until release then drop info bombs constantly every month until release, the hype build up in those months will be crazy. Still too early for a trailer 2 tbh. Story trailer 2/ World building trailer/ Online mode trailer close to release with screenshots and blogs. They're just waiting for the build up time.

At this point, I feel like it will be delayed. It's been 14 months since we got the first trailer for the game. And we haven't even heard a single chirp from Rockstar about the game

From what I can remember gta 5 and rdr 2 reveal trailers said that the game was releasing next year gta 6 reveal trailer said it was releasing two years later i dont think it’s delayed I think this was planned

If gta 6 has to run on series S than I truly believe series X and ps5 will get a performance mode and pro may get some ray tracing enhancements. There is no way they make gta6 for series s and then ps5 and series x aren't capable of running it better... the only way I see 60 frames not being an option for ps5 and series x is if rockstar completely passes on development for series s altogether but I just don't see that happening but who knows😅

Honestly, the hype for this game is SO HIGH that I wouldn't be surprised if Rockstar waited for the game to be really really polished before posting anything.
I can already see people freaking out if the graphics and gameplay aren't perfect despite the game being month away from releasing.
What you missed are the other games that are being released by Take Two in 2025. including Mafia, Civilization VII etc. Take Two will never jeopardize Mafia by launching it closer to GTA 6. Unless they finalize the release date for Mafia, I doubt they will market GTA6 at all. Mafia needs to succeed badly for Take Two and they will ensure that its marketing cycle runs without GTA 6. In case Mafia is released in fall 2025, then I bet they will delay GTA 6 into 2026.
I think it would make a lot of sense if GTA6 was moved to 06/06/2026 at 6:00 p.m.

it'll do well, as much as i don't want it to (because of the incredibly shitty work ethic precedent that it's success would set), but the longer this game gets delayed, the deeper it's debt hole gets, the harder it is to recoup it.

I think the biggest reason GTA 6 would get delayed is because the Online mode (the golden goose) is not ready in time. They'll want to cash in the multiplayer FOMO on release.
@@whatever3554 that wouldn't be the reason, if the base game is done then online will be done, only thing they will need for online are servers, a delay for an open world game won't be indicative of it's multiplayer aspect. Given Rockstars last two open world games, the online aspect was never available on launch because they went you to play the base game first

If there is one title that can shadow drop its GTA6. But realistically there are probably deals in place. Advertisement, promo, distribution. SO much they need to and would want to keep under wraps even if they did shadow it would get leaked. I do think we get maybe one more overview trailer and the standard 1-2 gameplay exposition trailers they have done since RDR1. But I don’t think they drop anything to coincide with an earnings call. This game is the most over analyzed critiqued game, it spawns whole RUclips TikTok theory channels on almost little information. Rockstar makes everything an event, the next trailer will come out and likely will include a delay OR a late 25 release. The funny part is how this announcement fit a release date probably affects any game coming out this year. No one wants to be even in a 2 month window before or after. I do think the silence is a marketing tactic, they won’t say shit until a day before a trailer if not day of considering last time. They don’t need time to garner eyes or attention, rockstar tweets today 10am nothing else and the whole world is watching. That pressure though means it has to deliver, it has to blow RDR2 out the water it has to set a bar that says this is what other games will chase for a decade

GTA VI is a unique drop, this game has so many eyes on it I don't think they need to advertise outside of formally confirming it's existence. however if they don't release Trailer 2 within the next 2 months the timeline is gonna start to not make sense for a Rockstar release where there's usually guaranteed a gameplay trailer and a release trailer not to mention GTA V had 3 individual character trailers and GTA VI is heavily speculated due to the 2022 leak literally showing to have 2 player characters (only one confirmed as Lucia was the only obvious player character in Trailer 1)
I also saw someone in the chat say GTA VI release will be like Cyberpunk's lmao.. CDPR is not Rockstar even after the success.. yes SUCCESS of the Cyberpunk franchise Rockstar has literal billions to pour into their release and we're looking at one delay at most if that

@ no it would not, Rockstar does not need any marketing. Look at Astro bot, they dropped a trailer for the game and the game came out three months later and look how well that sold. Just imagine the crazy hype if at the end of the trailer it said April 2024. Look how many views that trailer got and just imagine all the talk the game would be getting. People would go crazy, holy shit GTA 6 is coming sooner then anyone thought, it is only 5 months away! people would go crazy and that is all people would be talking about.

The 30fps thing isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker. People still play red dead on consoles. If the graphics are truely revolutionary, and it’s consistent, with no major bugs, I will personally be fine with it on a tech level. Especially since gta is a third person franchise, it isn’t as egregious as something first person.
There may still be a 1st person mode too tho who knows

The power the ‘pro’ provides isn’t going to bring the game up to a locked 60fps. Or else Sony might aswell have called that the ps6
