That’s the problem trying to build your own mattress. You keep trying 1 expensive layer at a time. My side-sleeper build was: 2” firm Dunlop on the bottom, 6” medium Talalay in the middle, 3” soft Talalay on top. It feels like a marshmallow so no pressure points at all but is not supportive enough for the back. Also, I am now skeptical that latex by itself can be comfortable. i think it’s a nice spring but needs a different material to contact the body. I feel it needs another material or two to balance it out. Memory foam topper and poly fill protector were not it. I am wondering about natural wool topper.

I had the two beds from a few years ago already, so I just added the topper to make it a king.
