In Japanese text, this quote is written as
「お前も舞うか？」
舞う is the verb meaning dance, but it is an old word. Additionally 舞う is used among Japanese nobilities in medieval Japan. So 舞う is known as one of elegant words.
Usually 舞う is used for Japanese traditional especially beautiful silent dance or performance like Kabuki-dance.
So, by using 舞う, the author draws Madara as old periods person who fight elegantly. (Literally different periods person from Naruto’s)

That first Rinnegan part was actually a confirmed animation screw up. He doesn't actually have it until that awakening part.
Yeah and they noticed it till after is was published, so I couldn't be fixed
I really want to see that fucking dumbass who made specifically this scene. On the other hand the animators may have drawn things correctly, in sequence, but the _editors_ may have reused bits of footage (commonly done - saves time and effort) and missed the eyes. Another reason why copy-paste can bite you.

Hashirama didn't defeat Madara with Rinnegan. He only had Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. He did say to Kabuto he awakened the Rinnegan prior to his death.

@R E yeah the original purpose of the edo tensei is to revive shinobi in mindless zombie like appearances and the 2nd hokage uses them in his jutsus for suicide kamikaze attacks (mutually multiplying explosive tags jutsu). Its even a surprise that orochimaru and kabuto tweaked the reanimation jutsu to a degree that the revived can use their jutsus and have their conciousness but still cant hold a candle to their alive counterparts in terms of raw strength, jutsu potency, etc.

There’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t make sense from Naruto, to Naruto Shippuden. Besides all the planet destroying jutsu and all. There wasn’t supposed to be nine different tailed beasts, Naruto was only supposed to have the nine tails and Gaara was supposed to show what Naruto would’ve become had he not found people he cared for, during the fight between Third Hokage, and Orochimaru+Reanimations, Hashirama and Tobirama are said to only be 33% of their power which is just bullshit in my opinion and the author didn’t plan on having Hashirama be that much of a powerful figure later on in the show and just had to come up with the excuse. Jiraiya is supposed to be equal to Itachi in terms of power ( Itachi actually implies that in Naruto when he says that if he were to fight Jiraiya they would both die in battle or something along those lines ) and yet they make Itachi way more OP compared to Jiraiya in Shippuden. Orochimaru is probably debatable to being one of the best Villians in the series and he goes from being one of the most dangerous Shinobi of all time to just straight overshadowed garbage in Shippuden at the snap of a finger. You wouldn’t think that kabuto, such an overlooked character in the first Naruto would play such a big part in Shippuden, and there’s probably just a lot of others I’m missing. But yeah

Two things:
1. Hashirama did not beat Madara when he had the Rinnegan. As Kabuto said, he only got the Rinnegan after he gained a portion of Hashirama's power after the battle at the final valley.
2. Madara uses Wood style because if the above mentioned reason. This is also the moment which was the final nail in the coffin for the shinobi alliance.

I love seeing the second it dawns on people. Just how ridiculously plot breaking Madara's power is. Hes got: a susanoo, rinnegan, incredible fire style, hashirama cells for wood style, superb character drawing and a badass voice to match. People forget how hype this was. Madara was first mentioned in the valley of the end fight during part 1. And through all of Shippudden we were drip fed info on how fucking strong madara was. And his intro lived up to it. Probably the best episode of Naruto

godofthisshit I noticed it the first time I watched it and I had to look it up. No one really talked about it though idk why. I basically decided it was an animation error on my own since his rinnegan appearing right after was made to to a reveal. It’s wasn’t until later, people on RUclips pointed it out being a mistake.

Yo Heisuten, the first time you saw the Rinnegan was actually an animation error (they clarified shortly after the episode aired), he shouldn't have had Rinnegan there. He can NOT switch back and forth, he awakened it at that moment Naruto shoulda hit him

I always loved the fact that Madara's Susano'o is essentially 2 Susano'o fighting back-to-back, since he got his Eternal Mangekyou from the brother he fought together with for so many years.
The first appearance of the Rinnegan you saw was actually an error, I've watched that fight many times and never noticed it, good eye. The ACTUAL first appearance of the Rinnegan was the one when Naruto threw the Rasenshuriken.
I saw that the first time I watched the episode. I checked in the manga and it's impossible to see his eyes at this moment. So it's an error (or the mangaka told them to put the Rinnegan ?).
